Id like to see a lesson on ways to develop your metal chops, metal as you know is alot about chops and foot speed so I think it would be cool to see that
@@TheBonegames Bomb Blast is a traditional blast (aka machine gun blast) but with a bass drum on every count. Kick, kick+snare, kick, kick+snare. Hammer Blast is snare and bass drum on every count, like here.
i dont have double kick pedals but when playing the the beats it sounded good. You are one of the best online teachers ive ever watched your videos are so helpful thank you
Gabes just gonna add more adjectives before friends every week. By 2019 we’ll be Gabes “fantastic awesome super cool musical talented beautiful friends”
The 100 bpm was my fav! Felt like a lot of doors just opened up on it. Of course, I've always got drum something, in my head! Great job, thanks for sharing!
I would maybe throw in a herta on the bass on that last groove on the 16th notes of certain 4’s mostly, maybe sometimes even 3 & 4 would be cool. Idk if that’s “metal” enough, but the groove just popped into my head as you played.
Just a little tip. The”gallop” is actually the “thrash” beat, and the hi hat should be double the speed of the snare, not the same. The technique in the vid will get you rejected from speed metal and thrash bands. This is a good start, but you need that hi hat speed or it’s just lazy. The traditional blast beat is far more versatile, and a little easier than this one. The traditional alternates snare and ride so it can sound much faster if you prefer, And because you’re already in position, it is far easier to transition into fills. Also the bass drum hits on either every snare, or every snare and ride hit, if your feet are fast enough.
No the hi hat should not necessary be double the speed of the snare. There is no rules in music, but anyway, listen to that song ruclips.net/video/pXVJzOmFOqo/видео.html . The beat here is the exact same as showed in the video :) .
Well. I understand. And how is way of construction? Various plies, stave or one solid ply? Anothers drums like yours are George H. Way too. Few weeks ago, I saw in youtube a comparison between a DW collector vs an ayotte. Definitely, the ayotte sound better ! Congratulations ! Thank you for answering and cheers from Formosa Argentina !
I just started drumming after YEARS and need a double bass pedal for an electrical drum set that _ideally_ works for acoustic aswell, does anyone know a good one?
Hi. It´s a pretty drum kit ! I like so much how looks and its sound ! The wood rings are very nice ! Like kick rings. So bautiful ! Your drum kit seems craviotto drums for example. What kind of wood is made with? Thank you for answer and cheers from Formosa Argentina !
So glad you like the kit! To be honest I have no idea what type of wood it's made with, I bought it used years ago! I would assume maple, but I'm not sure.
The first beat is hard for me with one bass drum pedal. pretty easy double. I try and play it like the punk rock drummers with single pedal. I will get it one day.
Sweet lesson! I've seen many drummers doing insanely fast blast beasts solely using their fingers and no wrist at all but I struggle doing that. Do you have any lessons on finger technique as well? And btw what happened with the falcon double pedal? I'm just thinking about getting one so I'm curious why you're not using it (anymore)? Thanks man!
Using your fingers definitely helps big time! I'll be working on a technique course soon! My falcon actually broke, I've been digging the iron cobra a lot though! I'm pretty sure I like it more. And they are the same price.
Thanks for the response! Oops big time downer... Damnit just got mine but actually really like it so far. What broke on yours? Looking forward to the technique lesson. My left hand struggles so much using only fingers....
Hi ! I write you from Formosa Argentina. It`s a city near Paraguay. All are very cool metal beats. But I like more the third one. A question, what drum kit is yours? Thank you for shearing and cheers from Formosa Argentina !
It can certainly be done! I’m not sure that you could replicate the power given by playing it with 2 feet. But that’s a great way to gain some stamina on 1 foot for sure!
It's a great way to practice metal grooves without a double pedal. It takes a lot of stamina but you only get half the power . When you learn to do that with both feet however, just imagine the posibilities.
Which metal beat was your favorite? Let me know! Also, get FREE Drum Lessons here: bit.ly/free-dbo-lessons
The gallop is the begginer hardcore beat
7:11
1 beat and the beat in the intro
The last one is the best, i need to learn that one
Blast beat, was amazing!
No 300 BPM blast beat? 🤔
Just pull out a minigun, and shoot it at the ceiling. It will be great!
That’s just drum abuse. I’m calling drum protective services.
300 and double time, good luck
Once I realized they were cranking thier drum heads and using triggers. I was like oh.... that's a fork in the road. It's a style choice.
I recommend Blood Kingdom by Worm Sheperd
Beat #1 (Gallop): 0:30
Beat #2 (Blast Beat): 3:23
Beat # 3 (Offbeat Snare): 5:22
I just got my first drum set and I am self taught so your videos have helped a ton! Thank you!
That blast is the hammer blast
Traditional is the easiest way to to start blsting imho
Good to know for sure! Thanks for sharing!

I call it bomb blast
@@TheBonegames Bomb Blast is a traditional blast (aka machine gun blast) but with a bass drum on every count. Kick, kick+snare, kick, kick+snare. Hammer Blast is snare and bass drum on every count, like here.
It's only a real hammer blast if you're only using one foot, ala Kolias. Alternating kicks in a hammer or bomb blast is straight cheating.
i dont have double kick pedals but when playing the the beats it sounded good. You are one of the best online teachers ive ever watched your videos are so helpful thank you
The way you explain what each of your limbs is doing is very helpful.
That last beat was insane dude. I will not stop until I have it down 😣 Thank you for your effort 🤙🏼
you get it?
Iv'e seen blast beat tut's but I am glad I finally found what you coined "The Gallop"
Brother, you're an amazing drummer!
Thank you for the kind words!
I really like that last beat!

Never forgetting this channel and DBO being a huge part of my journey

Gallop, for sure. Third beat is rich & sweet but not as much a ‘metal’ trademark. Thanks, Gabe! 🙌🏼
The gallop(aka the skank or thrash or slayer beat) is my fav😎🤘🏻
I hear that!
I think it sounds great and is super fun to play

Cool video I liked the way it was filmed and the angles for ease of understanding. Like I always say, blast first

Can that last beat be considered a polymetric rhythm since the snare is offset to the other elements?
