At 58 years young asI sit here and listen to Steven Ray Perry, again , his vobclllpl vocals give me goosebumps ! His vocals are Orgasmic. I sit here at my age listening to him before and after and I still cry tears of joy . First off , I have to suck in my air and then just let it all out and I will never, ever have his " The Voice" .

Has anyone else even attempted this?!?!? - HOLY SH*T!! - this song is crazy hard and Steve makes it look effortless. The man was channeling something supernatural singing this. There's a reason Steve sang this particular song but for a couple times at the start of the Escape tour....Damn!

Pressed in an interview Steve said this was horrible song. He hated it. But, he sings it so well. He puts everything in every song...even those he hates.

Listening to this made me think about how in the 70’s & early 80’s Steven Perry was exactly what Chris Cornell was to Rock ‘N Roll in the 90’s & beyond. They both were & will always be seen as 2 of the most gifted singers of all time & mastered their craft impeccably! What a tragedy that one was silenced by suicide & the other just stopped singing. 😢

So so good, Steve, charismatic, sexy with that voice, simply unmatched. I also like that he always goes back to the (fantastic) drummer. The whole band in that line-up was amazing, it's a shame it broke up.

They messed up on subtitle at the beginning of the video, they put it as "LAY IT TOWN" not "Lay It Down". When I saw that I giggled for a few seconds.

@@nnmrtin8426 They're supposed to go into the chorus there; that's why they go to their microphones but then take a step back and start smiling and talking to each other. They go into the chorus right after Steve's improvised solo instead.
I'm not sure Arnel Pineda can do this one but Steve definitely lays it down.
Arnel has thicker voice. It would be hard for him to stretch that voice like Perry

I saw this tour and had the same white FU jeans as Neal
You can tell they have some 'vocal help' with the background vocals being pre-recorded. At 3:06, Neal sings Lay It Down when he's not supposed to and nothing is heard! Neal and Jon laugh about it afterward! Of course, everything that Steve sings is live! Even when he is obviously tired and probably jetlaged he still sounds perfect!!
I don't think that's what happened. What it looks like to me is Perry improvised some vocal lines instead of going to the chorus and Schon and Cain wasn't expecting it. They were going to the chorus but backed off when they heard Perry improvising.Always follow the singer!

Steve came in at the right time to do a little vocal riff like the album, but Jon and Neal were following eachother thinking they were just going to cut in at that part

You’re right! It looks like there was a little confusion though. Maybe Schon forgot about the vocal riff for a second and was going straight to the chorus. It sure looks like he wanted to sing on that part and backed off.
