I know this is nearly 3 years old but it’s a great review, pure honesty and integrity.
Thanks Mark! Glad you found it helpful 😊
always appreciate youtubers who don't dub their flics with music
+Paul Frahm lol thanks
thanks for the review. I recently bought this drill drawing an offer and recommend. It is powerful and lightweight. I used for drilling in concrete
and using the appropriate bits fulfills its mission.
For a DIY drill the PSB 1800 Li2 (the green version) also performs superbly and mine came with two 2.0ah batteries for just £79 on an offer from B&Q. its rattled through a large decking project, a loft flooring and a fitted kitchen without skipping a beat... :) Its really light and comfortable too. Highly recommended !
Thanks mate! Its a great drill especially for the price
I got the (Green DIY) PSB 1080 Li2 with 2 x 2.0 ah batteries on offer for £69.95 -10% at the beginning of the year. Amazing battery life and excellent torque. Its built a large garden decking, a new kitchen and many other smaller jobs even drilling in Concrete. And survived few drops!!... A brilliant piece of kit.
Bosch have some quality tools across their ranges. Definitely covers everything an enthusiastic DIYer would want to do and suit someone in the trade brilliantly 👍
great vid joe, I have the same drill, bought it bare as I had batteries. if your looking to bulid up a collection of same brand tools I cant recommend bosch enough. Working as a builder my tools get hammered, dropped my impact driver from the ridge down two stories on to concrete and it didn't even flinch. Also can be picked up a lot cheaper than say dewalt or Makita.
just got one very similar to this and works delightful my first cordless bosch
Nice!! Its a great bit of kit
Nice one Joe! I've got a couple of Bosch power tools, the green ones, and they're pretty good. Can't fault their quality at all.
I just it to my collection today. I have not tested it yet. I have a GSR, now she's got brother GSB.
Great review Joe. I have several bosch cordless drills and I love them.
Great review! This made me buy it in the end... thanks so much Joe!
Thanks mate! Glad you found it helpful :)
Thank you for such a detail review! Learnt more about the drill from your video
+MrWensan Thank you! Im glad you found it helpful 😊
I really like that you showed us all 3 modes. Great review mate!
Thanks mate! Glad you found it helpful :)
Thanks for this review, it really helped me decide between this drill and the Hitachi being sold on screwfix for the same price. This is the winner i reckon!
Thank you Joe. Best review ever. Helped me understand how to use my first Bosch tool.
+real man Thanks mate! Glad you found it helpful
Ive had a couple of these as secondary backup drills. They're not bad for the money. Although dislike the way the L.E.D, does not stay lit a few seconds longer after releasing the trigger, also the chuck looses its grip on occasions. Theres also the issue for people who are left handed and fit the belt hook on the right hand side of the drill because it wont fit in the case and allow the lid to close.
They’re a strong option for sure. I didnt have any issues with the chuck on mine. Hadnt thought of the belt clip not fitting in its case. Im work out of a shed so my tool cases arent ever used haha
A very informative and well made video. Thank you for taking the time to make it. I have just one suggestion, you should ask people that give your work a thumbs down, to explain why in the comments. Hopefully, you will get some good feedback that will help you grow your channel.
Thanks Chloe! Im glad you found it useful. It would be a big help if people did comment with what they didnt like about the videos but unfortunately they never seem to do that haha
Many thanks for the review, Joe:-) I'll be getting this Bosch unit soon and learnt much from your review.
Great review joe, nice bit of kit too, I do like the Bosch equipment, for my day job I have a few of the heavy duty 36V drills. See you on the next one Tony
Really nice and concise review, Joe. It's a great sign that a company like Screwfix would approach you. :-)
Thanks Joe....I literally just bought one...so being a woodworking novice I thought I'd just check what the youtubers have to say about the drill...
Thanks for the review. It is great
Glad you found it helpful 🙏
Good tip on the batteries being able to be used in a variety of tools from the same manufacturer Joe.
Thanks for the review, really helpful.
+Paul Steam Thanks Paul! Im glad you found it helpful 😊
Great Review Joe! Really starting to get noticed by people! :-) Good on Ya!
Thanks for the review, Joe. I agree with you that the case is laid out really well.
+Average Joes Joinery I hear ya.
Really helpful video.Thanks
Just ordered one 😁
Thanks mate! Glad you found it helpful 😊
For £100 its a great drill for DIY/ Around the House.
Nice review Joe.
I purchased this Bosch today and my first drill hole into plastic ducting broke the drive unit somehow. Light flashing - Battery swopped- same issue - had to return it to the store. Pity as Bosch is a good make.
Great review Joe. Thumbs most definitely up.
Great review, thanks for sharing
Thanks mate! Glad you found it helpful :)
great review, on point, showed all the functions, appreciate it !
Thanks mate! Glad you liked 😊
Nice review, to me, when it comes to 18V Lithium battery drills its down to which brand you prefer, they all have the same performance/features.
top review Joe good thought about the multi battery options with the other tools,
Good and to-the-point review - always liked the look of Bosch Pro kit. At this rate you'll have to build a shed extension to fill with Festool review kit!
+Average Joes Joinery I'm sure not so long ago you might have said the same about blue Bosch stuff, so don't write yourself off!
Simple enough review. thanks for that.
Thanks Vibin! Glad you found it useful 😊
Loved the mild Scouse accent. Ta for the video
Joe you rock dude!! Thanx!
Haha Thanks mate!

Thanks for the review. I bought this drill a few days ago and noticed chuck wobble which is a common problem apparently. Did you notice same problem with the drill?
Thanks Hannah! I did notice any wobble. If you do get one and there is an issue like that its best to send it back for a replacement.
well done mate good review
good review joe! QUESTION:- is the chuck plastic or metal?
and is there any bit storage? you didnt mention that so im guessing there isnt any..;) but just thought id ask..i like when the lights go off right away too..
***** yea it is definitely ina good spot ..u should do a follow up on it agyer a month or so after ya get a buncha use..lmk how long the batt life is and any new likes or dislikes I've been eyeing up different drill and drivers my portercable took a crap on me a while back and I need to get a new one/set..I looked at the Bosch still debating on what to get..thanks joe!!
***** thats very cool of you to do joe.. if you don't mind me asking how come you're giving it away I'll definitely be entering the contest or give away so count me in :-) understand why you're keeping it just in the UK but hey if I win I'll think about you :-)

I like the drill
Its great 👌
If its good enough for the average Joe, its good enough for me.
Thank you very much for your review and the very detailed presentation of the features. I´m now quite sure that this machine is the right one for me.
It also has some modes in common with me like drilling, screwing and sometimes even hammer-mode ;)
Thanks Danny! I'm really glad you found it helpful.
LMAO Take it easy in hammer mode
Thanks Mate - great video
+azeem malik Thanks Azeem! 😊
My mum n dad don't want drilling holes in my house😂🤣😂🤣😂

Really helpful thank you
The best.

Thanks Abdul!
All these details but u didnt show how to change the bits.. anw thx for the review
lol Thanks mate! :)
Hi Joe. Thanks for this great video. Can i ask you a question about battery? Bosch GBA coolpack batteries has discharge protection? Or tool has that circuit? I want to use battery with my soldering iron but i couldnt finde an information. Thank you already..
Thank Eren! Glad you liked it. I dont know the answer to that unfortunately. My guess would be that the charge protection is built into the battery pack because they have a charge level display built in too. I dont know for sure though. sorry
Good review, good video too, well thought out and interesting, thank you for sharing
Keep up the good work, take care coz we care
The chuck seems to wobble a lot.... Especially when drilling the brick? How does it feel in use? Thank you.
+ivdimentia The chuck has movement back and forth because of the hammer action. I didn't notice any wobble side to side at all during use. It may be my camera positioning but the chuck was great 👍
Good video bro
Cheers Ronald! 😊
Great video
Thanks mate 😊
Stage 1 has more power in terms of newtonmeters than stage 2 - Stage 2 is just faster.
+eQui253 Thanks for the info 👍
my dad used this just 10 mins ago, he just had to pause because it started to smell like burned plastic + it stopped working
Ahh the dreaded blue smoke! Get it sent back for a repair/replacement if its still under guarantee
a nice video can i use this drill on metal pl.?
Thanks Sanjeev! Yes this drill can be used to drill metal but you need to use HSS drill bits
I have a PSB 1800 LI2. I used a 10mm bit to drill a few holes in wood. The chuck is now seized up; just over 2 years since purchase. I tried Bosch website to check for a replacement chuck and instructions on how to replace it. Useless! No manual, in fact no help whatsoever.
Sorry to hear you’ve had trouble Roland. Ive found that contacting screwfix first is usually the best option. They can point you in the right direction if you need to speak with manufacturers
How many hours does the battery last?
Yes, one question. While the tool is absolutely amazing and for the great price deal it was on Screwfix it's lifetime value, but the problem is, or maybe it's not a problem and is supposed to be so, the metal ring at the very tip of the chuck, it's lose, and it spins around and makes bell noises, does it have to be so? Thanks for the review Joe and thanks in advance for the answer to my question.
***** But yours was spinning free too? I'm neither sure why is that, if that is such a feature, I just need to know if it's broken or fine like that. Thanks.
***** Thanks a lot for info, it's good to know the tool is not broken. We need to find the reason for spinning ring :D
***** It's not like and urgent necessity, no need to rush in and come up with an answer in few minutes :) Just if anyone has an explanation please share it, because that ring thing... :D
Jailhouse Bradley I've just brought one of these haven't used it yet however my old dewalt had a spinning ring, I found it useful to hold as a depth gauge when drilling
Sorry, I know your comment is a year old but just in case anyone else is curious reading your comment, the free-to-move ring at the end of the chuck is to prevent damage to your work-piece in case of over drilling. If you're drilling right through a piece of wood say, as your bit breaks through the other side of the wood, your drill can sometimes bump the surface of the wood. The free moving ring protects the surface from the spinning chuck making marks.
When it comes with only 1,5 ah batteries it's hard to consider it a professional tool.
Less than 5 ah are for people who use their drill once or twice a month.
Most professionals invest in a system of tools that utilise the same batteries. Buying bare tools or ones with small AH batteries arent much of an issue
@@AverageJoesJoinery Yes i agree on that but often there are offers where there is cheaper to buy a new drill with 2 batteries than 2 separat ones.
GSB 180-LI is cheaper but have more torque than GSB 18-2-LI. I really don't understand how Bosch market their products
I have no idea how their naming scheme works haha can never make it simple can they 😂
No gsb 18 is more strong
But they can’t drill holes?!
The spinny bit can
gsb 18v with gsr 18v
which one should i buy..
help me...
I believe the GSR model doesn’t have a hammer mode whereas the GSB model does. They are around the same price so I would recommend the GSB so you have the Hammer mode ability too.
+Average Joe's Joinery
in your review
that drill made in where
malaysia
prc
china
germany?
I dont know sorry
Mohd Firdaus Many entry level Bosch products are made in PRC and Malaysia. For high end and brushless model, it will be made in Germany.
GOOD JOB MY FRIEND VERY NICE BOSCH POWER TOOL LOVE IT, I'M GOING TO POST THIS VIDEO ON MY FACEBOOK HAPPY WOODWORKING OK :)

Thank you for the heads up mate! I have just reported it.
what's the estimated battery life for this anyone...?
Sorry I dont know what the expected battery life on this tool is
@@AverageJoesJoinery maybe would be a good idea to do battery tests on such kit in the future as it is a handy piece of info to have when thinking about purchasing such types of eqipment
Im just an average joe mate. The tests I can do are only applicable to my uses. I make stuff in my shed, I dont work on site or anything like that.
@@AverageJoesJoinery hahaha...the minute you upload to youtube you become more than an average joe...you become a viral celeb...so anyways jokes aside maybe it would be something to think about for any future videos, thanks for the upload
Haha far from it 😂 I know I prefer reviews from regular users, I can make a more informed decision that way. I’ll definitely try to come up with a good way of assessing battery life.

Says "Independent Review" then starts by saying that Screwfix contacted you... Oh well... not really independent is it?
Says “Independent Review” because I dont work for screwfix or bosch, I wasnt paid by screwfix or bosch. My thoughts on the drill are my own. The review process was done independently from start to finish, hence, “Independent Review”
