I recently picked up this album on cassette. I'm turning 30 this year, so this album came out when I was about a year old. This song caught my attention when I got the tape, but now it hits home even more as my close friend passed away to Cancer just last month, and it makes me so teary thinking about her. She saved my life when I was at the lowest point, and now she's gone. This song makes me teary. Love the Rolling Stones ❤
my closest friend was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, weve been close friends for 35 years since we were 15 in high school, its beyond tragic, she just celebrated her 50th B-day and was diagnosed just a few months later, we used to love this song, i would play it for her on guitar, but now the lyrics have taken on a whole new deeper meaning for me, stay strong my friend, youre not the only one to lose some one you care for deeply, sadly its just a part of life, it breaks your heart but you need to live on for them, im sorry for your loss, peace and love from BOSTON
I love this song and the Stones. This song is a beautiful ballad. Mick's voice is incredible. This song reminds me of when me and my 1st love broke up. It hurt and I was literally out of tears 😢, there were no more left to cry literally 😢.
To me this is their finest song ever, it's so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes. I've always thought that Nicky Hopkins played that mesmerizing piano part, but it's Chuck Leavell. This is musicianship at its highest level. When you can create a song like this, out of nothing, you are premier league.
Man the 90's were magical. like the 80's. The Rolling Stones honed that energy and created this classic. Every time I hear this song, it takes me to a special place. They transcended time and connected with an era they were not necessarily from. I wish all generations could realize that.
I absolutely adore this song. Voodoo Lounge was the first CD my parents ever gave me. I was 8. I fell in love with the music and the Stones. Out of Tears would be the song that helped me through my first heartbreak. The Rolling Stones have touched my life in ways no one will ever understand. I learned about life from their music. My parents now that I am nearing 30 often ask me why the love for the Stones. And I dont have a simple answer I can give them. It's so much more than words can express.
I understand totally about not being able to explain the pull and sway this band can have on people. I'm now 70 years old and still love their music as much as I did in the 60s when they first hit the charts. When I'm asked that same question I just shrug and say, "no other band scratches my itch like the Stones." From Delta and Chicago blues, to dirty rock n roll, and soulful ballads like this one, no one tops the Stones in my opinion. Rocks off boys!
When my dad passed away in 96...I was so broken...that I know of the pain that the song speaks of... so when my ex broke my heart. It didnt hurt as bad as the loss of my dad.
It hurts..cant say it gets any easier...weird love with youre dad...bad loss...hopefully you enjoyed him whilst we could...some dont....good luck Sunshine
In 1995, my dad was trying to sintonize a local channel in my TV, and for accident he sintonized the new MTV from Brazil, a new channel here at the time. And this video from Stones was the first Music Video I ever seen in my life. I was just hypnotized with this song and performance of them. Sometimes i watch this video and every time I think it's great!
I take this song very much to heart for reasons I can’t explain publicly only God knows my heart ! Thank-you too the Stones for this ! The greatest band ever 🙏❤️☮️
Free Speech: Dear Rolling Stones: although I like his music too, Elton John May have Copied your melody/song when he put his song called “I need love” around the year 2000: scold me if I’m wrong! Can I get a cut of any suit if I’m right?
I think you mean I Want Love but yeah now you say it there is a slight resemblance. If Allen Klein owned this one he might have sued but I think Mick and Keith own this song 100%. I think they're easy going over that sort of thing these days.
December of 1994, on the sound tower at a Stones show in Montreal, I danced with a lovely man while this song was performed. This is the first time I've ever looked it up on youtube...it takes me right back there to that dance. After all these years...I'm finally out of tears.
con este tema entre a mi fiesta de 15, cada vez que lo escucho se me vienen las imagenes de toda mi familia y amigos !!! que lindo y que sensación hermosa

Great song. Great message and vibe. One of their best.
Such an underrated Stones song.
One of their most beautiful and poignant songs on this sad day. Farewell Charlie. You’ll never be forgotten. RIP

So true!!! Here in 2023

In my opinion, this has to be one of the best ballads ever written. PERIOD. Rock on RS.

One of the hardest things to have to do, is grieve a person who is still alive.
Agreed. Because when you miss and long for a person who is alive, there isn't the same degree of closure that comes with mourning a death.
I understand ⚡✝️💐
Christ bless you and your family 🙏❤️

Another FANTASTIC ballad. For some of you newer Stones' fans: "Til the Next Time We Say Goodbye." From '74, just gorgeous.
