dude thats awesome, when I get really old (like 60s 70s) I wanna start... well continue, selling guitars at flea markets, find some teenage kid who would do anything for an electric guitar because his/her parents don't want them to have one, and sell it to him/her for like a quarter of what I would normally ask for, some guy in WV did that for me and he has now idea how much he has changed my life, I haven't seen him since, but I wanna do that one day

Please do a video where you take the 18 string to guitar center for a setup. Keep going to different stores until you find one that will actually do it. If they don’t do it, sue them for racism towards 18 strings.

I have a slightly sentimental suggestion for the name of the Telecaster if you'll indulge me. Casswell. When I started going to music university, one of the guitar lecturers there was a guy called Mike Casswell. He loved Fender Strats and one guitar he had in particular was a 1968 Strat in sonic blue (a guitar he never brought in to show us because it was "too expensive to play", but he did upload a video to RUclips detailing his guitar collection) Simply put, he was one of the best lecturers I ever knew. He got results, he inspired people, he had a wicked sense of humour, it was amazing. For whatever reason, however, he was fired at the end of my first year, and died in tragic circumstances while on holiday in October 2016. Somehow, the colour scheme on that Tele reminds me of him. I don't know why, but it does.
I sold all my guitars about 8 years ago but i recently was reminded of one of your videos and i bought a Ibanez Gio GRG the next day you brought back the passion to play music and the need to play music again can not thank you enough !!!!
I think that is a G series, and it ain't got a preamp there as I notice. Anyway Takamines weren't so expensive back then, and even right now, even a Garth Brooks Takamine doesn't go more than 1500, so it's very rare to see a 4000 dollar Takamine.
My guitar collection: - Ibanez RG470. Set up with .008 strings, my main shredding guitar. Not a big fan of it tbh, I really want to get a new shredder sometime, possibly a Schecter, but I don't have the money for it right now. - Morgan HSS Stratocaster. Made-in-Norway Fender knockoff, close to a Squier in price but feels a lot nicer to play. Bought mine for $110 at a discount, everyone I've given it to who has tried it have estimated it at anywhere between $600 and $1000. Second guitar I even bought. Love the thing. Also it's currently my only guitar with proper single coils, so I need it for dat strat tone - Chibson Les Paul Custom Kind of an impulse buy as I found it online for super cheap and neither me nor the seller had any idea what it actually was. Could've been an actual Gibson for all I knew. It's a nice playing and sounding guitar, suspecting it's got Epiphone pickups though there's no way to tell. Set up for clean sounds, everything from blues to chord strumming. - Supreme Les Paul No, not that one. This is a Danish knockoff of what looks to be a single cut PRS Tremonti SE, set neck mahogany body + neck and all of that. It's my very first guitar I bought it on a trip at age 7. Yeah, 7. I'm gonna build this thing into a metal rhythm beast, already modded it with EMG 85/81's as the original pickups broke and I'm gonna sand the frets and put .13 gauge strings for it. This guitar is never leaving my side. - Chinese SG Double Neck No idea why I have this thing in the first place, bought it at the age of 11 or something like that because I thought double necks were cool and I found a cheap one, it's currently set up with the bottom neck being your standard E A D G B E tuning and the top neck being in C# F# B E A D, like a 9 string but without the last 3 strings. - Schecter Omen 5 Just your average 5 string bass with active pickups. Nothing to see here. - Epiphone nylon acoustic from the 80's My only acoustic. It's been in my life for as long as I can remember, my dad brought it home long ago from his old job. He doesn't play guitar himself, but either he took it or it was going straight to the trash. It was a no brainier. Later, once I started playing, he gave it to me. This is another guitar that I'll probably never get rid of. So yeah, that's that, 7 guitars in total, though they all are very different and have their places. It's not like I have 3 Music Man Stingrays or anything like that lol. In addition to this, I also have a couple of project guitars, for example a Dean ML Dimebag Signature I got with a broken headstock for $100. I'm hoping to see this collection grow in the future, but again, money. What does your guitar collections look like, random RUclips commenter?
Ltd ec 10 my dad got from cash converters for $200 for himself but he lent it to me and eventually gave it too me it has had the absolute shit played out of it and I love it I have been through so much with it and it has a really pretty black and orange laquour and you can see the wood through it I have never seen another ec 10 where you can see the grain of the wood M other guitar in a made in mexico strat with a Floyd and two humbuckers with a 5 way switch that I inherited from my late grandpa so it is hard for me to play sometimes for that reason because it makes me think of him but it is an excellent guitar and I love it plays great sounds great super comfortable neck
I also have 7 guitars and 1 bass. They all have a lot of sentimental value to me and I try to make each one have a different purpose. Yamaha Pacifica My first guitar I got back in middle school in like 2011 or so. I love even if its just a cheap strat style starter. It's always a go to. Fender Acoustic/Electric My first acoustic that I bought myself. I don't play a lot of acoustic music, but its always good to have and fiddle around with from time to time. Dean Flying V A guitar that I worth more than I really deserve. It was a gift from my stepdad before he married my mom. I'm really grateful for it and it's one of the best playing guitars I've felt. Danelectro Semihollow 12 String I got this with money my grandparents gave me for my high school graduation. It was a bit of an impulse buy, since I really don't know many 12 string riffs, but it has sentimental value none-the-less. Next is a custom built super strat style guitar that my stepdad made for me one Christmas. That was how I found out that you could build your own guitar. It has two humbuckers and a single coil and a floyd-rose tremolo on it. Then he and I built a guitar together. We made a PRS style guitar with two humbuckers and a beautiful glossy red finish on flamed maple. Its a really great looking guitar that plays really smooth. Although it doesn't sound great because of my shoddy soldering, but it's still a great practice guitar. Jackson 7 String My first and currently only 7 string. While my parents thought it would be more of a phase kind of thing. I've held onto it and I really like the way it plays and sounds. It has heavier gauge strings on it, but that makes it better for me to learn things on so I get the technique right. and finally a bass that I built myself. I had a little help on some of the more delicate procedures, but I did most all of the rest of the work. I'm really proud of it because I did it myself and it sounds and plays really good. It has Jazz and Precision pickups and only two tone and one volume knob. I'm really proud that I did the electrical work myself and it all works how it should. These are all the guitars and bass I have. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting another guitar for my 21st birthday coming next summer and then probably giving it a rest for a while. Guitar and music in general has been a joy for me and a wonderful hobby and way to meet people and I plan to continue for the rest of my life.
@@fosterhawkins8102 that's a pretty nice lineup, seems like your family has helped you out a lot. Did you build the PRS and the Bass from the ground up with a wooden slab as a base point, or did you get one of those kits I keep seeing online? Either way good going. I've been wanting to try to build my own guitar from scratch for a while now. But I don't really have any place to work with wood apart from outside. And I'm not gonna sit outside and sand wood in -10c.
I built them from a kit. An important distinction I forgot to mention. Building it from a block of wood up is so much more work than I have time for or could get close to good. It was a really fun project that each took about 5-7 months to complete. But then again I am in college and that comes first. The bass really only took about 3 months of work and the PRS style was mostly wet sanding and waiting for poly to dry.
Nice vid Jared!! If I may, I will list my collection.... 1. PRS SE 245 With EMGs and a shadow tuner 2. Fender Strat Cream with Paul Gilbert injector 3. Hendrix Strat with EMG single coils 4. Fender Dave Murray HHH Strat 5. PRS 7 String with EMG 707's and a Punisher sticker 6. Fender Thinline 72 tele reissue with Fishman Fluence pickups 7. Epiphone Black Les Paul Custom with black hardware and Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickups 8. Agile Fanned fret Pendulum 7 string with Fishman Fluence pickups.
For the upcoming headless Ormsby video you should do a Sara Longfield inspired video, like I'd like to see you try to copy her style or see what you create based on the dynamics and vibe her music inspires in you.
And my grand total is: two. 1.) Nashville acoustic 2.) RJ Telecaster copy(Zoomcaster). It has a similar tone to an actual Tele, but the tonewood sets the gap. Still, she plays great! Four, if you count the strat copies I borrow from my friend and cousin respectively
Unskilled Slash its mainly an aesthetic thing, trying to come up with new designs. It also removes neck dive because the weight of a headstock just isn’t there.
7:36. replace the nail and the other strap button with those small screw in closed eyelets. and put small carabiners on a strap for it. Works great, never have to worry about a strap coming off by accident and it looks pretty cool.
My Guitar collection Telecaster copy from a kit( got signed by Dick Dale) 1978 Ibanez CN200 (got stolen) Ibanez SV470 Ibanez SV470(2) ( got stolen) Jackson PS-3 (cheap Rhodes) BC Rich warlock ( sticker guitar) 1978 Bentley acoustic 2019 Alvarez shadow burst AGW electric acoustic
I have the ibanez sz520 too in blue, it was my 1st non entry level guitar, I've recently just rewired it and stuck a couple of seymore duncan invaders instead of the stock pups and it been given a 2nd lease on life! I think because the sz line stopped being produced that it holds even more sentimental value to me. Sick collection man.

No, not that one.
- Chinese SG Double Neck
No idea why I have this thing in the first place, bought it at the age of 11 or something like that because I thought double necks were cool and I found a cheap one, it's currently set up with the bottom neck being your standard E A D G B E tuning and the top neck being in C# F# B E A D, like a 9 string but without the last 3 strings.
- Schecter Omen 5
Just your average 5 string bass with active pickups. Nothing to see here.
- Epiphone nylon acoustic from the 80's
My only acoustic.
Ltd ec 10 my dad got from cash converters for $200 for himself but he lent it to me and eventually gave it too me it has had the absolute shit played out of it and I love it I have been through so much with it and it has a really pretty black and orange laquour and you can see the wood through it I have never seen another ec 10 where you can see the grain of the wood
M other guitar in a made in mexico strat with a Floyd and two humbuckers with a 5 way switch that I inherited from my late grandpa so it is hard for me to play sometimes for that reason because it makes me think of him but it is an excellent guitar and I love it plays great sounds great super comfortable neck
2004 Gibson Explorer pro electric blue with a jb-4
I also have 7 guitars and 1 bass. They all have a lot of sentimental value to me and I try to make each one have a different purpose.
Yamaha Pacifica
My first guitar I got back in middle school in like 2011 or so. I love even if its just a cheap strat style starter. It's always a go to.
Fender Acoustic/Electric
My first acoustic that I bought myself. I don't play a lot of acoustic music, but its always good to have and fiddle around with from time to time.
Dean Flying V
A guitar that I worth more than I really deserve. It was a gift from my stepdad before he married my mom. I'm really grateful for it and it's one of the best playing guitars I've felt.
Danelectro Semihollow 12 String
I got this with money my grandparents gave me for my high school graduation.
Jackson 7 String
My first and currently only 7 string.
When you have so many guitars you can make a 20 minute video just talking about each one in minor detail.

1.) Nashville acoustic
2.) RJ Telecaster copy(Zoomcaster). It has a similar tone to an actual Tele, but the tonewood sets the gap. Still, she plays great!

I hate headless guitars. They just look silly. No matter who plays them.
AntonioKowatsch eddie van halen (but i totally agree)
Headless guitars are weird, I don't know how to tune.
Pedro Sato something similar to fine tuners on a floyd rose. but they just tune regularly. why do we need to remove the headstock anyway
Unskilled Slash its mainly an aesthetic thing, trying to come up with new designs. It also removes neck dive because the weight of a headstock just isn’t there.
