The fact that you remind every single person at the beginning of your videos that you only own this much makeup because of youtube, It really speaks to your integrity. Someone who is watched you completely throughout the pandemic and continues now. Watching every declutter that you've done and every piece of makeup that you've reviewed it's so clear to me that you are not a makeup keeper, in that you approach items the way I do. You use what you use and you remove the distractions. I love that.
The problem with declutters is how I found your channel. And you've been my literal favorite ever since. And kind of a gateway into watching more beauty content.
This was awesome and satisfying to watch. The whole series made me think of this quote from the Brazilian author Clarice Lispector: “Before organizing myself, I have to disorganize myself internally. To experience the first, fleeting primary state of freedom. Of freedom to make mistake, to fall and get up again.” Thank you for putting out amazing content 🥰
I love this, thank you so much for sharing. I have named these two elements in myself as 'good and useful' me and 'chaos' me, g&u can get out of hand and needs chaos to balance her out 😂
The difference between a normal person and a beauty influencer is drastic!! I counted I have 14 pieces of makeup 😂 I use them every day. And buy the same one (or try a new one if not satisfied) after one is 100% done. And I consider myself a makeup lover.
I love your in depth discussions of topics like the drawer liners or your decluttering philosophy! It's satisfying to me that there is someone here who cares and thinks so much about such specific aspects of makeup and lifestyle. I listen to your videos almost like a podcast!
Today’s makeup look is actually my fave. I love this look. I think it’s the simple face and the bold brows that are doing it for me. I’m doing a combo no/low buy and makeup and beauty products are on the no-buy (which is replacements only). I’m already learning some things and it’s only been 2 weeks. I’m excited to have a more edited collection by the end of the year as you do!
you're so real for putting that disclaimer before the video started! we watch all these influencers online and sometimes think it's normal to own this much makeup and it's not! thank you for saying it, it helps some of us stay grounded!
I love your declutters. They have inspired me to swatch and declutter my own collection. I also like hearing a broad overview of a category, and which products you keep when comparing them to the total. And like others, I so appreciate that you remind people at the beginning that you are a content creator and all this makeup comes from PR. I kind of assume that whatever number you are working with, I will have 5-10X less. So for example if you keep 30 eyeshadows, I wind up with around 3-6 in my own declutter. It's my non-content-creator correction factor lol!
I've discovered the joy of getting out, away from my home, and doing my makeup while sitting outside in the bright shade at a local park. The light is perfect, the sounds of the birds, and even the rudeness of the squirrels demanding chips or nuts, make me feel so nice. But most importantly, I have to keep my makeup collection down to what will fit into a tote bag not much larger than an old-fashioned bowling bag. And there must be room for micellar water cleanser, moisturizers, sunblocks, and brushes and tools. This situation has cut down on quite a bit of anxiety in my life. Your drawers are now obscenely serene, and I'm sure you need some of that in your life by now. Thanks for the video!
I moved right at the beginning of the year, which forced me into a declutter even though I don't have a big collection to begin with. Now that I got rid of some fluff and filler and expired stuff, it's so much more calming and approachable. The edited collection makes it clear to me that I did have more than I was comfortable with and that was unknowingly stressing me out
The jewellery box is so beautiful ❤️ !! I recently re-watched your jewellery tour/declutter and it's one of my favourite video ever! Would you consider doing an updated version of that video in the future?
Honestly Hannah I think new year's content coming in the middle/end of January is exactly the energy I need this year. It's never too late, and sometimes the extra clarity of a few weeks in "the new year" is what you need to really discern what direction you're going in without the pressure of pre-determined goals.
LANCÔME BLUSH SUBTIL IN CEDAR ROSE!! Palest powder blush I have come across. Old gum vibes. Swatch it at ulta! This has nothing to do with the video I think (I have yet to watch it fully) but I am early enough that I hope you see this. 🤣 For reference, I am a fair to light neutral olive!
I was dragging my feet going through my makeup collection because I saw my eyeshadows & didn't really feel like I had too many to get rid of. Watching your eyeshadow declutter & seeing that you let yourself be lenient on what you let go made me feel better about not getting rid of any! I finally sorted through my collection last night, I kept my eyeshadows & ended up getting rid of mostly lipsticks! I had some since 2014-2015 & knew it was time to get rid of them 😂 Thank you for your content & your words. It's so calming & supportive
This video couldn't have come at a better time. I have had a huge declutter and needed to reorganise but I felt uninspired and unable to start. When I have too much I feel overwhelmed which is such a privileged problem I'm embarrassed to say. Thank you for such a wonderful video x
I looked at your channel page earlier today to see if you'd published a new video. And here it is! Under another video I was watching. Stopped the previous video immediately, and hopped to this video. Thank you for keeping me company on a very cold, grey Saturday evening in Germany. Much love 💕
I found your channel in the middle of your last year's declutter spree I believe and I could not wait for the next iteration of this series!! This is everything I have been in a desperate need to learn in my "makeup journey," encapsulated in one single video. My interest in makeup started in around 2016 and I was just buying stuff that was recommended to me because "I needed to have it" or "it was too good not to try out" or "the best of the best in that category." I was watching a lot of youtubers and I thought that having as much choice as possible was the key to enjoying makeup, especially if it came to eyes, lips and blushes. I would start with the basics, like matte nude eyeshadows. Then came my obsession with colorful eyeshadows. To show off my makeup skills I would wear the most extravagant, bold looks, shimmering to oblivion, that in hindsight really were beautiful, but coupled with the rest of me they just looked... out of place? I could never quite put my finger on it. I would be really happy with what I created, but then come back home after the whole day, look in the mirror and in the back of my mind think "was that really what I had on my face all day today?" I have the same skintone as you do, so you can imagine how contrasty these orange, fiery or blue shadows looked on me. On top of that I had so many of them that coming up with new looks started to become difficult, as I never repeated the looks and could not even remember the combinations I used previously even if I tried. Your notion of "decision fatigue" is spot on here. Eventually I realized the colorful looks were simply not as satisfying to me as they used to. So I started decluttering. First the very colorful, rainbow palettes and singles, although even without them, my collection was still overflowing. Over the past year or so since discovering your channel I finally realized more things... like the fact that these extremely shimmery, glittery shadows are gorgeous, but they are just not for me. I started thinking that I looked way too dolled up wearing a lot of them. I now like softer, simpler shimmers. My duochorme collection shrunk down to almost exclusively nude-based shifts. I do like simplicity. I like one-and-done shadows, both shimmery and matte. I LOVE mauves and beiges and greiges and taupes. After all these years I finally learned that loving something because it is beautiful in a pot is not enough, it HAS to be beautiful ON ME! Although my collection is pretty curated at this moment compared to what it was years ago, your declutters really make me motivated to try make it even smaller. Having a lot of choice is a nightmare to me. For example, I wittled down my blushes to 4 (one powder, 2 cream, 1 liqud) and I love it so much more, because all of the shades I decided to keep go with all of the eyeshadow looks I could possible create. I still have way too many eyeshadows, I get way too attatched to them, but I can never possibly use all of them with how rarely I even do a full face of makeup right now. Oh how the times changed. But your videos really opened my eyes and made me question my collection further. Why would I even want to keep makeup that does not make me look the ABSOLUTE best? What would be the point? I simply cannot justify it anymore! I really wasn't planning for this comment to turn into a wall of text haha, sorry! All I wanted to say is that your channel is a true gem and has helped me tremendously in finding THE makeup that truly brings me joy. And oddly enough, we not only have the same pale olive skintone, but also the exact same taste in blush, lip colors and eyeshadows (oh how I wish I could afford that one Gucci lipstick you keep praising, maybe one day!). A true delight. Thank you Hannah!
I just love listening to your voice. Right now, it's 20 outside and no one is around since we don't usually get this kind of weather. Snow is so hard you have to walk on it. But I'm here in my office printing out hundreds of W2 forms and working on payments for the Oregon Cancer Foundation, and warm and happy because no one is bothering me and I can just listen to you declutter. Pretty soon, she'll be crawling! And then, bam! she'll be into everything, so declutter now. :D
I love watching your makeup evolution throughout your video history. I’ve had a similar shift and love how fresh and gorgeous your makeup style is, I feel inspired watching you.
Audibly gasped with joy when I saw the new cut 💇♀️. Stunning!! Also, these declutters have motivated me and my wife to do this in every room of our house this month! Hurray for making space to think and enjoy the items you surround yourself with! ♥️
Thanks Hannah! I have a problem with over prioritizing tidiness and having no time to live. The reset concept is very useful for me - so glad to see your videos ❤️
Hannah, MADAME, you're looking raaadiant in this look. haha. I needs must know the lip product in particular, if you wouldn't mind. Also, I continue to love the disclaimer you put on these regarding average consumer declutters vs influencer declutters. It's such a useful framing tool, and it actually makes the viewing experience more enjoyable. haha
I know this is NOT meant to be the point, but I couldn’t help but cheer out loud when you said you went back and got the Gucci blush. You haven’t owned it for long enough. Nor have I. We have to own, share and compare together for a while yet. Besides, nobody has that level of steel in their spine - surely! Well I was relieved that made two of us !
I rearranged my room just a couple of weeks ago. Normally I clean first and then rearrange. My room had gotten so terrible and I was in such a funk that I just went for it with a mess. I felt more inspired after that. After that I started decluttering, watched a few of your vloggy style where you are doing a project, mostly clothes related, to keep me going. 😅 Lol. I was super happy to see a video like this! Your drawers look more comfortable for your makeup now. :)
Your declutter videos were soo helpful! I've been meaning to declutter my makeup for a couple of years now, and they gave me the final push I needed to finally do it. I got rid of around a third of my total collection, and it feels great being able to fix everything in my makeup box again, and I'm excited to become reacquainted with my lesser used but complementary products.
ahhh i just got a chance to actually watch and ?! you are GLOWING. i can’t put my finger on what it is, if it’s just coming from within, a change in make up… but i mean it in the sincerest and most well meant way that you just look especially wonderful in this 🩷🩷🩷
I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but this makeup look is so stunning on you! So fresh but polished, very chic. Maybe the brows are a bit bolder than usual? I would love a chatty grwm of this look!
Hi Hannah. I've been taking a break from big purchases and am still loving by the products I have for now. My main weakness are lip products but have a better idea of the kind of beauty companies matches my sensibilities too.
Becoming a parent turned me into a minimalist because I needed to have to not spend energy on things that didn't matter (for me, makeup, clothes, and accessories). I'm 15 years into parenthood and I continue to find myself preferring to keep things easy
i am relatively new to buy and using makeup. i really don't understand what to do with the stuff i declutter. throw it all away? who would want it? can you help us with that part of the process? one thing I did decide to do last year: there was a pile of items called "get rid of it b/c i don't know how i feel about it." i hid that pile from myself and opened it up a year later. only to discover that in the last year i understand a lot more about makeup. so now some of the items are my favorites. i found i decluttered items and gave them to myself! yay! but what to do with the rest?
sorry OT but Hannah Hannah have you seen about face released a foundation with olive undertone shades! 🤩 i think the palest won’t be pale enough for you but there is a very pale neutral! 👀 anyway would love if you reviewed the olive/neutral shades 🩷
Watching your videos is always very relaxing for me. I also love a good ole organization video! I'm also liking your hair in this video. Is it shorter?
Wow, you are so beautiful and your hair is perfect! Is your hair care/styling routine as it was in past videos where you explained it? This is the haircut I'm going for but i swear i could never get that kind of volume with a middle part and tucked ears styling 😓
yes, styling is the same. I got a haircut recently and I asked for a razor-cut shag but without the bangs. She did a lot of carving and shaping with the razor to "free" the hair from its own weight, which helps with volume, but I also have very thick hair to begin with

Random comment but needs to be said. Lovin' the hair and this simple makeup look ❤️
Stunning
Skin glowing, brows on point, the 70s hair… loving it!
Me tooooooo!!! The hair is so good!!
holy hell you are right! Hannah why is it so good on this video? i totally agree that this look is specially fabulous.
Your brows look amazing!
I can’t put my finger on what it is, but something about your makeup look here is so PRETTY. Suits you so well!!
This was awesome and satisfying to watch. The whole series made me think of this quote from the Brazilian author Clarice Lispector:

Agree so much! I don't remember how many videos I've rewatched to "learn" from her! ❤
I. NEED. THIS. MAKEUP TUTORIAL. YOU LOOK LIKE AN ANGEL. .
LOVE this look you are GLOWING you are PURPOSEFUL you are 2024
I'm decluttering my office right now so this seems like a perfect body doubling moment

I decluttered my own makeup collection while watching you declutter yours. Thank you for the motivation!
THE HAIR!!!!! LOVEEEEE
Girl, you are a very refreshing voice on social media. 👏❤️👏
Her skin vibe is even more serene than all that decluttering.
You look so beautiful in this video! What are you wearing on your skin? We need a video on this look. You look so glowy and healthy and fresh
I LOVE these declutter and vanity organization videos! so inspiring for me! thank you for another great one!

I love this video. It feels good to watch!❤
I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but this makeup look is so stunning on you! So fresh but polished, very chic. Maybe the brows are a bit bolder than usual? I would love a chatty grwm of this look!
Brows looked freshly tinted!
@@alyssawilliams5426 they do! But it feels like maybe there's something else going on too? Doesn't matter, HLP looks fab as always

the glow is coming from the ND skinglass! I linked it in the description box.
@@HannahLouisePoston whatever cheek product you are wearing is stunning
Hi Hannah. I've been taking a break from big purchases and am still loving by the products I have for now. My main weakness are lip products but have a better idea of the kind of beauty companies matches my sensibilities too.
Reflecting reminded me of the paint samples in this filming space. Was it “snappy salmon”?
Becoming a parent turned me into a minimalist because I needed to have to not spend energy on things that didn't matter (for me, makeup, clothes, and accessories). I'm 15 years into parenthood and I continue to find myself preferring to keep things easy
I love your videos so so much! I just wanted to say that you're helping me with my fear of decluttering my own home, and my fear of lack.
So pretty!
Would love a jewelry tour!!!!
I have wanted that lamp in your videos for many years!!
Hi! I love the before and after shots. I find them so soothing. Thank you!

This was so refreshing for all of us. Thank you ❤
Love these videos!! ❤
Too tired to say something meaningful, so just a comment for the algorithm to support the content I enjoy so much ❤.
So satisfying!
I love your declutters and your content in general. Keep up the good work.
PS. Your brows are gorgeous. It gave me inspiration to go and dye mine 🙃
Excellent series!!
I love your vanity table

So well said. ❤
Lol I knew you were going to go back and keep the Gucci blush! I could tell you were talking yourself into getting rid of it but you weren't ready.
the eyebrows are so good
sorry OT but Hannah Hannah have you seen about face released a foundation with olive undertone shades!
Is it shorter?
yes! I got a choppy-changey!
She did a lot of carving and shaping with the razor to "free" the hair from its own weight, which helps with volume, but I also have very thick hair to begin with
@@HannahLouisePoston thank you so much!
