y'all, I'm sorry that we've posted fewer videos than usual in December! It's been a tough month behind the scenes. The declutters will roll out over the next couple of weeks, probably into January, and I'm looking forward to getting back up to speed in 2024. Thank you for being here ❤
I feel like the pace hasn't been thay bad. I think you were pushing videos out every few days before maternity leave and at least over the last couple weeks that is what it has been
"I'm starting with blushes because if i know one thing about you, out there, it's that you love a blush declutter," LMAO calling us out for making your 4 hr blush declutter compilation your most viewed video 😂 and yknow what, you're absolutely right
Personally, I love seeing creators use their makeup even if its been discontinued. Its less about oh can i get my grubby paws on that still and more an appreciation for the act of wearing something and loving it until it’s emptied, regardless of availability. It makes me feel that I can do the same with my own items, instead of forever chasing a new thing thats been released.
I also enjoy seeing people us discontinued products specifically because I might own it, and it helps keep me from thinking I need something new and shiny.
When I watch makeup videos i rarely think: i need that Mostly because most brands cost more than I am willing to pay for makeup (my budget is 12 Euros per Item, if more I am scared to use it and too dissapointed if i don't like it, 12€ the my perfect amout where i can get rid of it if it does not work without keeping it because it was expensive) and the drugstore brands in the US are the same in Germany. I love to learn new things about makeup and get inspired. When I try to recreate someting I try to use what I already own and if I really like the look in the video, chances are i already own something like that. Hannah ones said: I don't need it because I love it so much (because than you already own something similar) and I tell me that everytime I want something new
The confidence of swatching melty red blushes in a white woollen sweater is truly phenomenal. As always your grace and careful attention to detail shining through
Rejecting an entire category of makeup has really helped me get better results! After an embarrassing amount of time and money spent trying to make bronzer work, I purged all of it. I have zero temptation to get more now, just because I find my overall look more harmonious without it.
When she was talking about wishing the other blush was in the other packaging, I was like YOU CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN!! I mean, you'd probably have to do it on the day of the declutter or block out some time to do it the day after, so you didn't still end up with 2 blushes hanging around for ages while you procrastinate
I need to distinguish between loving a COLOUR and loving a colour as a BLUSH. I am giving myself permission to love a colour, as a colour, but accept that I do not need to own it as a blush as it wouldn't suit me. But it's so hard! 😂
I have a weird parasocial relationship with your blush collection (what can I say, your declutters are some of the only ones on youtube that I can stomach), and you did so well with this one! I think it’s really cool to see you reckon with things like the Westman Atelier, Gucci, Pat McGrath etc.-to see you untangle your idea of something from how it actually looks and performs on your face. And then seeing the elf and Kevyn Aucoin and Kjaer Weis go! Slay. Because I know your blush collection stupidly well (like seriously, it’s a joke but no one’s laughing), here are some of my predictions about ones that will fall out of favor: -I thought you could’ve successfully decluttered Fume last year, and I still think that now. I think there’s a part of your brain that holds on to an old idea that truly desaturated pink blushes are too rare to be decluttered, but actually that Fume color maybe isn’t as special to you as a lot of the others you have! -I think Kackie’s blushes are gorgeous but that all three are just a smidge off your preferred tones/undertones, and that only one if any will survive next time. -I’m guessing once the newness of the Ciele has worn off, you’ll think the color is pretty run-of-the-mill and that the packaging isn’t special enough to keep its place in your makeup kit. Sooooo we’ll have to wait 364 days to see if any of these strangely specific predictions about a stranger’s blush collection come true. Happy holidays!
There’s been other RUclipsrs decluttering their collections that I’ve watched some of recently. But if I’m being honest, as a person with a makeup bag the size of a pencil case, it’s been making me antsy watching them have 60 blushes and only get rid of a handful. You’re so refreshing and calming to watch and I love to hear you reason with yourself using logic on these decisions. You have such an artistry and unique point of view.
@@beatdizzy I’ve been coveting that blush and when I saw it was discontinued I was like nooo but then I pulled a HLP and shopped my stash and made a color dupe by mixing my Salt New York creams and I’m so much happier with it than I think I would have been paying for an expensive blush I really only want for the color.
Fellow pale girl who thinks she needs bronzer but doesn’t checking in….just got rid of my last bronzer and I don’t miss it one bit. No amount of bronzer or shade of bronzer for that matter is going to fool anyone into thinking my skin actually should look like that.
I was the same with bronzer, contour and highlight. I always just used to use blush. And with makeup youtube, I believed I needed all these other cheek products. I bought them, didn't wear them, and decluttered them. And now I still only ever wear blush!
WHOA! Seeing the Armani go was almost as shocking as when you released your two prized Lancôme blushes. But! Like you said… everything has its moment. And letting things go with Grace is good for us. Very proud of this declutter. ❤
For your decluttered Gucci blush…could you remove the actual blush pan and replace it with another one you do love? Seems like a win-win to keep the beautiful component but interact with it using a product you love. That might make some people twitchy 😂 but it’s what I would do!
I’m 29 and own exactly one blush 😂 - a bare minerals “ blonzer.” So the reason I’m watching this is to help me get an idea for which brand I might want to purchase next or as a bit of a better quality product from the overwhelming array of choices out there.
Gah I love how eloquent and utterly thorough you are! Observation: I think at least one or two of those little pots of cream are going to make there way out quickly because of how similar they look in package. And that will ease that decision fatigue. AND take you to the edge or over for your 50%!💜🎶
If you want a red toned ruddy bronzer and love the Gucci component, try 01 Fair in the Gucci bronzer, it could easy be your one and only bronzer and it’s also beautiful
I’m just now finding your channel and so wish I had seen it sooner! Your style/demeanor is so refreshing to see in the beauty community. I’ve been feeling detached from the few beauty channels I’ve watched for years, feeling overwhelmed by all the new products. It’s so nice to see your content and your mindful decision making. Thanks for being so thorough and talking through your collection in such detail! Beautiful work. I’m excited to see the products you’re keeping! My favorite and daily blush is the bare minerals blonzer- spice of copper. Its blurring and skin like, looks like a natural flush and lasts all day! Now wanting to check out the merit one! 🙂
This was JUICY, love it, I'm strangely pleased to see the Rouje face palette made it through, and as the ONLY cheek palette. Also, buffing your nails will just damage them long term, even with a glass file, you're stripping the top layer and they're going to get thinner and peel, that kit is a really overpriced short-term solution and long-term problem (a good glass file for shaping costs $10 and you can get a whole bottle of jojoba oil for another $10), wouldn't recommend it, but you do you.
It was a slaughter 😂 Thank you for sharing. “Does it call to me; I don’t know? I can’t hear.” The cacophony is confusing and as you say, exhausting. I get it. Happy Holidays 🕊️💙❄️
Feeling an ironic sense of juxtaposition while watching this video of Hannah, who is declutterring her blushers with a view to decreasing what she has, with my mindset of seeing which products make the cut, so that I can buy them and increase what I have. 😂
Video idea: either choose an image of yourself in makeup or do your makeup, and then paint a self-portrait of that makeup look. That way, you get to play with a different range of colors with paint that wouldn’t work on your skin tone as makeup. Bonus points if you do a finger paint self portrait for an exceptional tactile experience.
i stayed throughout the v end to see if you declutter that elf palette. I've been watching you since before you raved the elf palette. it's an end of an era, and I'm glad for your growth!
Hard cut to me using the ELF workout ready palette while you were dithering. Honestly, it is such a workhorse and I'll be forever grateful to you for the recommendation. Still going strong these years later.
That Bare Hands kit is a GREAT product. A friend gave it to me as a birthday gift a few years ago ... great gift item. The cuticle oil smells so good, and the clicky applicator is so satisfying.
I have Sublimate (along with 5-6 other Phytosurgence blushes) and it's one of my favourites (I have pale skin as well). It buffs out to look particularly cool-toned on me and it's very unique.
I have one cream blush. My whole make-up collection fits in a small organiser on my bedroom chest of drawers. I have one eye shadow palette. I use my bronzer and highlighter as eyeshadow sometimes. I have 3 lipstick tubes and one pot of gloss. Feeling kind of good about myself right now
After watching Hannah's blush reviews and declutters, I felt so intrigued with the way she speaks about their colour and texture that I started playing around with them more (never a blush person before), and WOW do I love a blush now. My current taste is literally "cheek makeup" and nothing else 🥹
Watching you declutter the Armani melting color balm in 20 kind of made my heart ache because it’s my all time favorite blush. I’ve nearly panned mine and would definitely buy another one - if only I could! I totally understand your reasons for decluttering it, though! Maybe someday, through your reviews, I’ll find a neural brown shade I’ll love as much as I love the discontinued Armani one.
I love blush declutters! I think the elf palette is perfect for travel because it’s multiple colors and very compact. I am a blush hoarder because they are my favorite makeup product. Mostly cream and liquid. I separate my blushes in color families. I gravitate to different color families at different times of the year. So I keep them in my blush drawer that way. And take your time in coming back. Motherhood is time consuming and the most important thing! Marry Christmas!
Oooh, the perfect video for this specific evening! ❤ I’m going to watch this while forcing myself to make dinner (instead of just relax on the sofa) and then I’ll wrap the last gift (that just arrived, 20 days after I ordered it 🙄)
Your declutters are my favorite! I have a similar mindset to you when decluttering. I don’t relate to declutters from other creator the same way. Excited to continue watching!
“Art supplies magpie”…perfect name for my condition! I have to work hard against the tendency to keep products so I’ll have options that I never need. Magpie be gone! Merry Christmas to you and your little family!😊🎄🥂
I really appreciate your declutter videos. I don’t have a large collection and I do minimal declutterring during the year. Your process of decision making does help me make better purchasing decisions throughout the year and helps me maintain a curated collection.
I also don’t wear bronzer anymore! I kept one, but I also can use MAC Harmony as a bronzer if I felt inclined. OH, I wanted to tell you to check out Give Me Glow. They have a lot of nuanced and muted blushes and lip products. They also have a variety of bronzer options, included pinky and red-toned ones.
barbe-à-papa is the word for cotton candy in French. Barbapapa is also a name of a character in a children’s book from the 70’s about a pink figure who could morph into anything called Barbapapa and his family. He shared the cotton candy pink colour of cotton candy. I am not sure if Troy Surratt wants to allude in one or the other. But they share the same baby pink colour anyway… 😘
Same. It is the makeup product type I own the most of, and have a hard time resisting buying more of. But I also wear them a lot, it makes it ok for me
I'm the opposite, i had one shade for 10+ years, (rebought) just added a pink in recent years. In my head... There's a point where the colours just look to much of the same to appreciate the differences (I'm medium dark skin)
Love your declutter videos, always inspires me to go through my own collection for the nth time. Also, very brave to be swatching wearing that beautiful cream sweater! I'd stain it in a second. Thanks for another inspiring video!
everything you did and said made total sense. how do i have the confidence to buy ANY blush? I am paralyzed by fear of buying the wrong color, wasting my money and causing myself disappointment. how do i handle this so i can buy myself some nice blush?
I too have 2 products that serve one single purpose in my collection. I maybe use 1 of them 3 times a year and the other 1 once. But not this year. I went on a cruise this year and didn't take them with me because I took minimal makeup with me. But in these 2 weeks I could've used them. I thought about decluttering them before but the cruise showed me that its ok to have a handful (I specifically mean not more than 5) products that I dont really use, but when I need them and wouldn't have them I'd miss them. They dont take away space and are there when their day comes. I also have 2 nostalgia products that used to be my precious that I wont to get rid of and thats ok. They don't take up much space too. Maybe the elf palette is the one nostalgia product for you.
Sorry if this was already commented, just wanted to let you know barbe in "Barbe à papa" is pronounced like barb in barb wire fence. The name literally means "papa’s beard", but it is also the name of a candy typically called candy floss in English! Hope this helps :) EDIT: I commented this and then you corrected yourself later in the video- well, in case you were wondering, you’re correct.
I know u probably get tons of unsolicited parenting advice, but being a mother of 5, starting at 20 & having my last one at 41, u will definitely realize down the road that u don’t need breastfeeding tops & a tin of other items. I wore whatever shirt I wanted and just covered up w/a breastfeeding cover that went over my head down to my waist from Copper Pearl. It covered everything, was stretchy & lightweight. Companies weren’t selling products like that in the 90’s, but in 2019 when I had baby number 5, I absolutely loved it.
I decided the other day to get rid of all of my bronzers for the same reason. I just don’t wear them. Ever. It was super liberating to make that decision.
Really enjoyed this video! I do get the decision fatigue and lesser options helps so much! Sometimes a curated monthly makeup bag works really well too as a great option to default to.
The jump scare of you saying you were only going to keep one or two Phytosurgence blushes and then the Elf palette making a departure.. it’s like watching a thriller for me.
I tried making an old gum color on finding fedinand but never buy it because I am afraid it won’t come out right. It would be cool to see you go through the process of selecting that color. I still mix to get that color with my salt ny products ever since you made that vid.
Speaking of taking attention (your Oden's highlighter), I've found that keeping the boxes of my cheek products has been helpful. I don't have many, but keeping them nicely lined up in a drawer is visually appealing to me. I can tell which is which at a glance and simply need to slide them out of their place, use it and slide it back in once I'm done. The one thing in my collection that is unruly is my gel eyeliner collection 🙈 I struggle so hard to declutter any of them (got three of those acid green colours alone) and mainly let them go only when their formula degrades. I love and use them, so it feels wasteful to just toss them out. I haven't added to it though, so I'll whittle eventually 🤞🏻
I've been reading more into makeup expiration and one thing I'm learning is to be careful about the eye makeup (i feel like i can ignore the other categories lol) but the eye makeup one has been making me a little anxious, especially liquids, to replace every 3-6 months. Maybe that might help you collecting?
Oh the drama and the ruthlessness you kept us on our toes for this one! I learned this year hot pink blush isn't for me. I got rid of the only one I had and felt so much relief as it wasn't staring at me. So seeing you bid adieu to so many things that have been staples for ease and joy made so much sense to me. I am still very much a blush lover but now I am learning you can say that is pretty but not for me and bypass it. The phytosurgence blushes though - they have me intrigued. Happy holidays to you and your family I hope its restful and that things slow down!
loved this video! We have such similar blush taste - I will say Gucci Rosy Beige is my all-time fav, I'm surprised you don't love the finish on your skin, but makeup is so personal! - Carli
I feel like because you didn’t swatch them at the coverage level you actually wear them on your cheeks you’re not seeing how similar some of these will appear in a finished makeup look. I think when washed out on the cheeks the similarity between some products would not be worth the potential decision fatigue. But I realise my collection of cheek products is very minimal. I keep three blushes. I find the most quintessential neutral, cool and a warm shade to suit my skin and asthetic and then any new product has to be good enough replace one of the current blushes. It’s ruthless but I just find if I have multiple blushes all within a small spectrum of the same shade family my choice then comes down to formula and then I’m basically going to always pick the same product out of the three similar shades every time. So I just don’t need to own all of them despite their subtle differences.
I purchased Condensate this last sale from Phytosurgence, and I'd originally intended it to be mostly a mixer for the other blush shades I got, because I didn't think it'd be special enough alone on me, but I was pleasantly wrong! It's so gd pretty, and really transforms on your cheeks. Idk how they did what they did with their formulas, but they're incredible.

Back to work after maternity leave is so tough. Please just take extra good care of yourself 😉 we’ll still be here ❤
Take all the time you need. I hope your road gets lighter ♥️
I feel like the pace hasn't been thay bad. I think you were pushing videos out every few days before maternity leave and at least over the last couple weeks that is what it has been

You are right but Lord do I wish that Gucci balm was still available
My God the day has finally come, the elf active and the Kevin Aucoin thingy are out, can't believe it, end of an era. 😆
“…the promise of bronzer…” Truer words have never been spoken. So eloquent!
The confidence of swatching melty red blushes in a white woollen sweater is truly phenomenal. As always your grace and careful attention to detail shining through

I’m actually the same with blushes. Most colors look terrible on me unless there is brown mixed in.
Keep the Gucci blush but, if you can, take out the “innards” and use it as a pill box or earring box. Would look so nice on your dresser 😊
When she was talking about wishing the other blush was in the other packaging, I was like YOU CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN!! I would genuinely adore a supercut of the sped-up clock-clacks of you moving your makeup around. It has a lovely calming, asmr quality!
I second this! I don't watch ASMR stuff but if I were going to it would be this lol. I get excited and then relaxed every time I hear the sound
Kevin Acoin and Elf Active Lip & Cheek in one go??? Consider my pearls CLUTCHED!! (in a good way, i'm v proud of you)
Say "this version of Pillow Talk, the Pillow Talk Blush wand in Pillow talk is the shade pillow talk" fast 10 times! 😂 I love it! ❤️ 😂

I love everything about this and I'm commenting so I can follow up ❤
I agree with you on the ciele one!
Haha! Will be interesting to see what transpires in the next round!
I too am very pale and never wear bronzer. But still own a few because I feel like I have to and something will be missing from my collection.
I agree! I also think the face palette she kept could’ve gone too and I think it will be going soon

I like watching declutters, but the reason I love watching yours is bc I absolutely LOVE the colors/shades of the makeup u choose.
The gasp I emitted when you decluttered Phytosurgence blushes and the Armani discontinued blush- I was like whoa Hannah’s doing the damn thing
The Armani!

I’m on the train home from work after not feeling too well, and your video is helping me survive the long commute! Thanks HLP❤❤❤
Your videos are always high quality. Great job during the sometimes crazy holiday season, especially with little ones!
Wow! Some unexpected choices, but I'm so excited to see all these beautiful colors in the new year!
Absolutely agree re decision fatigue. Fantastic declutter ❤️
Declutter videos from you are truly the most valuable! Hope you have a beautiful holiday with your newly expanded family ❤
The suspense regarding the Phytosurgence! 😅 I love your declutters / reckonings.
Merriest of merrys and happiest of happys to you and yours 😊
You could de-pot the chantecaille into the gucci compact! Looks like it would fit.
wow, the fall of a titan. E L+P you will be remembered and honored for your service 🎺 *plays Taps*
I just love you and everything about you. It helps that your voice sounds like my best friend since high schools voice. Thanks H!
As someone working on building a reasonable “collection” I’m finding I have zero control when it comes to blushes.
Hope this helps :)
EDIT: I commented this and then you corrected yourself later in the video- well, in case you were wondering, you’re correct.
Going to hang out with you while I drink my chamomile tea in a fever induced haze. Looking forward to the ASMR. I wish you a calm end of December.
Hope you feel better soon
I decided the other day to get rid of all of my bronzers for the same reason. I just don’t wear them. Ever. It was super liberating to make that decision.
Thoroughly enjoyed, but was in a great bit of suspense and trepidation with your fluffy white sweater and your blush swatches!
Merry Christmas beautiful friend! What a lovely phase of life you’re in ❤️. I hope you and your wonderful family enjoys the holiday season!
Merit fox was in the their minis set. It has become one of my faves. Looks great also with a red lip.
Nubile blush! Love that description…this video is so enjoyable, but, oh how I miss seeing your face!
I tried making an old gum color on finding fedinand but never buy it because I am afraid it won’t come out right. It would be cool to see you go through the process of selecting that color. I still mix to get that color with my salt ny products ever since you made that vid.
The Armani and elf really surprised me. I am shook 😲
Last year’s declutter series was the first thing I watched of yours. I’m so stoked to be seeing these type of videos again on your channel!
Ameerah just did a great phytosurgence review, she might want some of the shades you declutter!
Merry Christmas Hannah!❤ take all the time you need and enjoy baby🎄🎄🎄⛄️⛄️⛄️✨✨✨
Love the declutter videos because it inspires me to do my own makeup drawer
oh my gosh such a satisfying declutter!
I love your videos, they're so peaceful and Zen. I don't even own blush, and yet it's so satisfying to learn how you manage your collection.
Perfect gift of viewing while organizing and puttering around. ❤
So satisfying to watch. ❤
Yay! Fun. Looking forward to the other & my own makeup & facial care declutter. 🕊✨🎄
One of my most favorite series🥰💗 thank you!
I declutterred so much after having my first kid and getting real with myself about what I was going to actually wear
Your declutters are so relaxing ❤️
loved this video! We have such similar blush taste - I will say Gucci Rosy Beige is my all-time fav, I'm surprised you don't love the finish on your skin, but makeup is so personal! - Carli
I also still use Fluertatious a lot but agreed it looks more pink on me then it does on others, I'm still on the hunt for a truly neutral blush.
Anyone else hear Joe's editing of MEAT and Hautemess Tom's Barbe à papa in their heads (and hearts lol) during this? ❤❤
Absolutely! 💯Tom's barbe a papa remix sometimes pops into my head unexpectedly 😅
Great job❤️ Why don’t you put the chantecaille blush in the Gucci compact?
I purchased Condensate this last sale from Phytosurgence, and I'd originally intended it to be mostly a mixer for the other blush shades I got, because I didn't think it'd be special enough alone on me, but I was pleasantly wrong! It's so gd pretty, and really transforms on your cheeks. Idk how they did what they did with their formulas, but they're incredible.
