    Currently own a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT 1000 cc that I have had for 20 years. Once took me 120 miles on one cylinder at highway speed when one spark plug wire crapped out on a Sunday morning with no shops open. At almost 70 years old it has gotten too heavy to maneuver in and out of situations. Purchased a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone at more than 100 pounds less wet weight. Absolutely love it. Will stay with Moto Guzzi for the rest of my riding life. I have owned BMW, Laverda, Ducati, Moto Morini, Triumph, BSA, Zundapp, Indian, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Cagiva and loved them all for different reasons, but the fact that I can physically handle the weight of a bike that will cruise (illegally) at 85-90 mph for as long as I need, looks good, is reliable and affordable and unique, why shop anywhere else?- -Mike Battle

    For me Guzzi V7 is the best. I owned the Bonneville but I prefer the Guzzi (the bike I currently drive) because of its character, style, solidity and sound. Easy to maintain. It is also more genuine, 100% italian bike. Triumph are manufactured in Thailand now. The interceptor, I don't know, because I got the V7 first ;-)

      @karlsquire8148 Год назад +5

      If I may say and not to challenge you or anything like that, just to be fair a lot of Yamaha's and other bikes are built in Thailand but they are designed buy the manufacture in country of origin such as Japan and England its the labor is brokered out not anything else, this is so we can afford them :-). Royals are Made in India and is an Indian owned manufacture, however the engine designers were sniped Triumph Engineers by Royal Enfield and the frame was designed by Harris performance a British Racing engineer company purchased by Royal Enfield I'm guessing almost 10 years ago, not sure when Harris got bought by Royal Enfield.

    I have owned all 3. I had a 2010 Bonneville and have a new speed twin 900. The new one is markedly superior in engine performance , ride and handling--it's totally different. I had a 2018 V7 and had the oppurtunity to put about 100 miles of vigorous riding on a new V7 850 , and again the new one is vastly better than the prior . I 've had a Royal Enfield 650 interceptor which is very pretty and an excellent value for the cost but inferior in handling, engine performance, brakes to the new versions of the V7 and Bonnevile. Therefore the comparisons of these older bikes is not valid with respect to the latest
    models, only valid if comparing various out of date used bikes

    • @YouMotorcycle
      @YouMotorcycle  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for sharing those experiences, and yes, the entire point is to compare various second hand motorcycles that can all be purchased for roughly the same affordable price of $3650 or less.

    Subscribed and looking forward to the series. One thing I will point out right away that is kind of obvious is that at the end of the day certain bikes are going to call out to individual riders...everyone is different....regardless of what the specs are on each bike....all 3 are great bikes imo.

    • @YouMotorcycle
      @YouMotorcycle  8 месяцев назад +1

      You're absolutely right. The Interceptor and the Bonneville are more similar, which makes them easier to choose between, because one is much better (and also pricier) than the other. So that really comes down to if you want to pay more to get better or not. But the V7 and Bonneville are very different. I shared your comment on my livestream tonight. I just bought a brand-new Royal Enfield Super Meteor. I am mainly interested to see how well the interceptor compares to the other bikes. At 350 miles that means the interceptor has just had is first serves done. I would make sure it was done at the very least make sure the valves were checked. The 648CC Royal Enfield engine according to my manual is supposed to have an oil change and valve adjustment at 300 miles. I am rooting for the Interceptor just my personal preference.

    I put a 150 rear tire on my 2012 Bonnie standard and it changed the cornering dramatically. Just a tip for your improvement. The person I sold it to had a neutral light switch go bad on him soon after he bought it. It is located right beside the oil drain plug. So you have to drain the oil to change it. Easy to do and a cheap fix.

    The V7 750 engine is a bit down on power than the new 850 model, but I'm still amazed at the prices you paid for the 3 bikes. Should be interesting to here your review but for me there can be only one winner and that's Moto Guzzi. Still it will be interesting to here how a possible stolen / recovered V7 gets on, hopefully there won't be any reliability issues due to damage.

    I'd have to admit being 'Late to the table' on this, but you did some fine 'wheeling & dealing'' to get the prices worked into your budget. Plus, it's an interesting line up for comparison, as most guys have asked themselves questions about the Bonnie vs the Royal End. well anyway, I have. Not the Guzzi so much, see with it in the test, that feeling of, "Maybe I should throw in a Ducati, to be fair" etc.. *Warning* BC once, 'that' whole theory of 'Add another bike to be fair'' takes over, and as "that" just turns into 'More Bikes in the test', it 100 % overwhelms me, and then, my own comparison test dies. Yet you've avoided that, and now Bro', you being off to a good start with your choices etc., it's all done, I'm late yes, but you've caught my eye again. TY.

    Interesting, but aside from the Enfield, the Bonneville has been upgraded several times. The Guzzi is nearly completely changed from the 2013. They received a 6 speed gearbox for one thing and the 850 version is far more competitive in horsepower to the Bonneville and had an enormously improved suspension, so except for the fact that its a v-twin, its now totally different. Having said all of this, I look forward to your observations.

    The problem with your Guzzi though is it has the older 750 engine vs the new 850 making a lot more power and torque. Too bad you couldn't have picked up one of the newer ones.

    • @karlsquire8148
      @karlsquire8148 Год назад +1

      I think the 750 Guzzi is a more fair comparison, more similar tech as it is to the other 2 bikes. I own 2 of the 3 bikes he is testing and depending how hard to test bikes for handling that Triumph is going loose it just wallows at high speed through curves, my Royal hands way better and I'm guessing the Guzzi will handle better than the Royal but who knows maybe now, this is going to be a great show.

      When U discuss the generation of the engine U have to look at the new Triumph from 2016 onwards.

    Older second hand bikes can have loads of issues depending on owner history and servicing. For that reason my pick is the Enfield. Looks a good buy.

    For performance its the Triumph

    • @karlsquire8148
      @karlsquire8148 Год назад

      isn't he going for best over all bike, I'm thinking best over all as long as the guzzi is running properly and I think he will make sure all bikes are running as they should, I think the Guzzi will be best over all but I have never ridden a Guzzi I own a Royal and a Bonneville. you are right in terms of power the Triumph but it is the biggest displacement of all the bikes.

    I am not sure but is that a 750cc V7 ? Guzzi do not make the 750 now , they use an 853cc engine taken from the TT85 , which has 25% more power , an upgraded frame , better electronics , etc . The bikes look the same to be honest , but cannot be compared in reality .

      ruclips.net/user/liveda8G8pn2wqI?si=9OmiG6WwjhuQlvMz&t=1029
      Second here's an Interceptor 650 that just sold in Cleveland two weeks ago when I was in town for a night. Seller was asking only $350 more than I bought my Interceptor for, and his only had 1,100 miles and was cleaner:
      facebook.com/marketplace/item/1190012925719764/?ref=saved&referral_code=null
      Third, just so you don't think that's a one off, here's an RE 650 that's 'low mileage' that you can still buy for $4k or less right now:
      facebook.com/marketplace/item/946987976864072/?ref=saved&referral_code=null
      There are lots of great deals out there. Just because you aren't getting them, doesn't mean no one else is. What would I possibly benefit by telling lies about the price I paid? It wouldn't change the series or benefit anyone at all.

    None of them..i have been where are you..the whole industry is making fools out of us by selling us twins, V2 and V4 these engines are extremely unrefined pieces of shit in my opinion..twins feel lumpy the cross plane firing makes it less obvious but they still are lumpy..V2 and V4 design are inherently flawed as the cylinder block closer to the rider doesn’t get enough air and throws all the heat into the rider’s body..the best engines with smooth refined power delivery..no hint of lumpiness are triples and the older traditional in-line fours..again the CP4 in-line fours sound and feel like raspy like tractors..if you are looking for a modern retro then your best options are a XSR900 or Kawasaki Z900RS..take a test ride and you will see what i meant..stay away from twins and CP4 garbage

    • @SinghDynamite
      @SinghDynamite Год назад +2

      If you want refined get yourself a electric bike. If on the other hand wish to experience character then a twin will do that very well for you. You call it lumpy we call it character.

      @karlsquire8148 Год назад

      Better Get use to the Idea of parallel Twins, they are all going that way for emissions reasons, so is lower HP but higher Torque at lower RPM is what we have to look forward to that is more fun anyway. I really miss 2 strokes.

      @markanstey2654 Год назад

      I'm totally the opposite and love the big lumpy v twin in my guzzi V11 and now find in line 4 cylinder bikes rather bland and lacking in instant grunt. The 3 cylinder in my triumph is OK but not as engaging as the guzzi. I tried the z900 expecting to love it but it felt like it needed another couple of gears - very revvy!!

    • @YouMotorcycle
      @YouMotorcycle  8 месяцев назад

      Interesting take. All my videos are shot with a Z900RS behind me, and I think the XSR900 motor is my favorite motorcycle engine today. My perfect motorcycle would probably be a Z900RS with an XSR900 motor and tech shoved in it, so we have some similar tastes, but, truthfully, I'm probably way less picky and will ride any motor config. I just rode across Italy on a thumper (single cylinder) haha

      People like lumpy. I’ve a few Moto Guzzi’s and never had any heat thrown up on me. In fact the air cooled Guzzi threw less heat on he rider than any liquid cooled four cylinder I’ve ever rode. And I’ve owned over 40 motorcycles and have to say. Twins and triples are my favourite, four cylinder bikes are boring as shit. Each to their own but you’re wrong about heat with the Guzzi that’s for sure…
