- When attempting an armbar be ready for your opponent to lock his hands in several possible way to prevent the finish. Here are a few of my favourite was to split his grip.
Спорт
The americana to break the grip is genius, and I will most likely forget it until I randomly re-watch this again in a year haha.

And another
Another reminder. If anyone wants to remind me again in a year this would be much appreciated as well. Thanks.

thanks guys will keep them coming please make sure to like and share!
Can you please put up videos of heavy bag drills for open and close stance combos/setups
+Tristar Gym firas youre a scary dude. so calm and full of dangerous techniques. your skill is extraordinary!! i would love to learn from you in person one day.
+Tristar Gym I love how you explained that straightening the kimura grip basically increases the radius he has to go around you, which is the reason you have time to take the back. You have such a clear-headed way of perceiving the deeper meaning and reasons behind BJJ techniques.
Firas Zahabi you are seriously legit. The stuff you are posting is on another level than what's out there
Thank you my friend but there are a lot of great teacher out there. I super happy to be considered one of them. Will keep the video coming!
Love how you make it easy to remember. He's got a mata leao, I've got a mata leao. He's got a gable grip, I've got a gable grip.
tremendous, you just added a whole new dimension to my game, I find myself here alot but often struggle with the finish. thanks again, you have a deep understanding of the art
For these jiu-jitsu videos, could you and your partner use different colored rashguards please? It would make the instruction clearer. Thank you for these videos!
Lol. GeeeEEHHEHeeEehHEheET the FHHHUCCK OUT!
Awesome. These videos help so much. Keep doing what you do man, oss!
I rarely every write comments for a RUclips video but I just wanted to say thanks for making these videos, I have watched every single one.
It's a great resource for me, I'm learning from BJJ home by watching your videos and it helps a lot!
Your so far one of the best instructors I've seen... Keep it up
Very usefully for me to put in my form. Thx for posting.
love the way you teach! Thank you I'll practice.
Thank you for this Firas. I've been struggling with finishing the armbar for sometime. I'm usually more successful with chokes, but joint locks are my favorite things.
Damn, that was beautiful technique . Thanks master Firas !
Very important details. This is amazing.
Awesome! This is priceless stuff, great technique! Greetings from Mexico coach!
Thanks again. Great stuff
You can also put your legs over their arm like a triangle choke and pull on their elbow joint with a RNC grip, it will snap their forearm if they don't break their grip. I will try all of these Firas! Thanks for making these videos, they are great.
Love it. Thanks. Very well explained. Need to find one from full mount. My partner always seems to be able to resist and escape. Damn him!!!
Love it thank you!!!!
Great stuff 👍
I like the grip matching to break grips with leverage
Great instruction and will be drilling these tonight. Thanks!
This is gold!!!
Pure gold
Really good. Do One of these on triangles that would be very interesting.
you the man firas
Hey Firas, I just wanna say this video had been a game changer, as with most of your instructional vids. Please keep em coming. I do have a question regarding the grip breaks though, if you would be so kind to enlighten me.
Are the above grip breaks equally applicable in a Knee on belly style armbar position with my leg tucked under his armpit? As well as in a triangle armbar style position where by one of my legs is placed above his shoulders as opposed to across his nipple line.
Thanks for your time.
"Finishing the Triangle" would be awesome by the way, i really struggle with finishing the triangle vs bigger guys
Hawkifyed Don't forget to get ur angle. If u cant do that he did avideo with the silver fox that shows excellent trimgle finishes
@@616shane i had a stroke
Do you use the spiderweb position for the armbar too?
I've been playing with both the Kimura grip you showed as well as the spiderweb position. What's your opinion about the different grips? What situations do you prefer the kimura grip? and what situations do you prefer the spiderweb grip if any?
That last gable grip is legit but I always struggle to twist my arms the way you are doing. My angle must be off
do you like the spiderweb stuff for these armbar scenarios?
Do you have a video on passing someone's butterfly gaurd?
nice variants! how do you get it so tight without pinching your knees together?
Very good Video an quality, can you do an armbar slicer, thanks
The americano one I could not find and it is one my coach taught me
Don't cross your legs when doing the armbar. That's what they're telling us in the Dojo. Can you point out the cons and pros, sir?
Americana one works like magic
coach, do you prefer to have the extended hand(on the arm that is getting armbarred) in the shoulder? I noticed you put the hand in the shoulder and not the middle of the chest.
Lance the American.
I'd like some simple feint-based combos/setups I can drill 10,000 times. Make them react and hit them where/when they aren't expecting.
Thanks for the instruction.
on the list my friend. Coming your way soon!
Tristar Gym
:D
I really your videos and really like your mentality about making your jiu jitsu universal. How do you feel about training sport specific styles like the spider guard etc? I have a lot of success with this guard but I know it's not universal ...So that's kind of a dilemma for me
John Hanson thank you! I actually Like spider Guard and find it help me in no gi. Instead of using it as a position I use it as a transition. Keep doing spider Guard but be sure to also do lots of know gi.
Professor the moment you pass your legs over to break the grip isnt there too much space for him to spaz and get out of the position?
Coach did you delete youre gut wrench video?
What is your preference, crossing your ankles when finishing the arm bar or keeping your feet parallel; either on top or bottom.
Ahhhhhh... Being a arm collector in a world of leg lockers . 🖐️🖐️🖐️👺
at 3:50 ish I think its a judo move fomr mike swain or whatever dvd. I also saw it in Eddies 10th planet DVD Mastering the Rubber guard I think. Great vid by the way, I can;t believe how many different kinds of armbar variations there r, its crazy.
The "Silverado" is what the old school Jean Jacques' guys called it.
heelhook79
that's also the name eddie calls it on his dvd.
JiuJitsu9
Yessir. One of Jean Jacques first black belts who also has a black belt from Gene Lebell. I think it's one of Gene's moves.
Didn't know that eddie was one of Jean Jacques first blacks. Isn't Jean lebel a judoka?
Gene sorry, can't see the comments with my iPad.
Would love more wrestling and Judo for mma vidoe's. There is a lot of striking and BJJ video's online for mma. Not a heap of wrestling and almost no Judo.
Well Coach Z, if you're so kind as to take requests, I'd throw one into the hat; Guillotine choke. Renzo Gracie was around sharing some nice details... but I wasn't there + I'm confused with all the options... Marcelo style, 5 finger, 10 finger, old school... and of course entry into. What's your data say? Oss
Guillotine is one of my favorite finishes. Will definitely be doing tutorials on all kinds of guillotine options. Stay tuned ; )
3 years later.....still no guillotine video.
whats that french word he used in the middle tech. metalion or something
+111stevenking its portuguese it means lion killer... its the word they used for rear naked choke... as you see its a rear naked choke style grip on the arm
Thanks for the info. Did I spell it right
mata leon

Takedown defense against the cage or back to stand up from different positions please!!
Who are those 2 who do not like the vide 👎
