I second this. Funny how now looking back the games performance is pretty terrible and pretty close to unplayable in some games but at the time I was the happiest girl on earth playing my ~20fps (if lucky) games in 720p and thought we had reached the peak in graphical fidelity and realism.

I met a guy who claimed to be behind the particle effects in Magus in high school. Introduced himself as a subcontractor for Black Tower and kept trying to tease their next game for ps4 at the time. This was 2014/2015. He was making really poorly made military/cop training simulations that we got to mess around with on base. I will never forget how proud that man was that I knew what Magus was at the time, failed to mention it was a Super Best Friends episode mocking it.

Shockingly Terrible would be an accurate description of Duke Nukem Forever. After 15 years in development hell, they released a game that is complete garbage.

Not a joke: I unironically like Rogue Warrior. I replayed it dozen times. I can't really recommend it to anyone but I like it because it's super short, I can beat it on an evening after work and it's giving me direct to video Dolph Lundgren movie vibe. And God knows I always look forward to a dtv Lundgren vehicle

X-Blades was a guilty pleasure for me. It felt simple but rewarding once you learned the games tricks and mastered the use of the spells. The spiritual successor of the game which i cant remember the name was pretty good too. Controlling time and using the past version of yourselves to deal massive damage

Bad games may be bad, but when it comes to collecting, they usually become expensive, ultra rare items. The idea is to buy them cheap, keep them sealed and let time do its magic. I did that with 4 "cheap" copies of Godzilla for the PS4 and one of Rambo for the PS3 :D
You didn't mention the funniest thing in Ride to Hell Retribution, which are the fully dressed sex scenes. Also wondering if Lair will be on the list. That one game which relied heavily on the Sixaxis controller.
wasn't there a patch post-launch that added controls for the niche demographic of People Who Have Fingers And Therefore Can Just Press The Buttons?

X-Blades and Last Rebellion were definitely 2 of the worst games I have ever played in my life. I completed X-Blades but Last Rebellion, I couldn’t even muster up the strength to make it an hour into the game…I have never sold a game so fast in my life.
Damnation is the result of the first 'Make Something Unreal' competition, where an amateur team originally made it as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 (it came second in the Total Conversion category) before it became a stand-alone release. Probably would have worked better as a mod.
I can vouch for xblades, being a man of culture I bought this one and the game play is barebones, just button mash your problems away!! It wasn't fun at all and I barley made it 3 hours in before I put it down and never picked it up again.
It’s such a shame cause the concept and setting were so great. Just the gameplay is so awful!

I really wanted to like it, but it's absolutely mindless and boring; just keep slicing and dicing horde after horde after horde. I quickly shelved it. I've heard that Blades of Time is better but I never got around to it.
Blades of Time is by the same devs but it's somewhat more competent... just barely.

Ride to hell: Retribution, a game so bad the AI gains sentience, realize how bad the game is and commits suicide.
I have only 2 of this list: X-Blades and The Last Rebellion. Some more suggestions are: Mindjack, Quantum Theory, Neverdead, Enemy Front and Knights Contract.
Never Dead and Quantum Theory are really good games.

Is it sad to say I beat Rogie Warrior on the highest difficulty with only a few cheap deaths? You're not wrong about the AI being braindead. I've played almost all of them and you're spot on with the problems.
Skullgirls received two male fighters as DLC, Big Band and Beowulf.
That said, they're either tied to one of the female character's stories in some way (Peacock being playable during Big Band's final fight) or they're heavily referenced in the lore with a ton of posters for them throughout the game.
So while the initial release was exclusively female (if you don't count the parasites or any of Peacock's friends as playable characters) further releases included the DLC characters, meaning it was no longer a fully female roster.
Not a criticism whatsoever, just a correction.
Codemasters had a bunch of misses during that generation of consoles between Damnation & Clive Barkers Jericho. Both had interesting concepts, but were not executed well. At least Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising was good.
Rogue Warrior is worth buying now at its ridiculously cheap price. It's so bad it's good. The voice acting and credit rap song is worth experiencing. Can't believe they charged $60 for it at launch though lmao.
Magus, I paid $5 for a copy and felt ripped off. But I did get a copy of Warhammer 40k Space Marine for the same price so it worked out in the end.
Rambo The Video Game was pretty bad, but the devs redeemed themselves with Terminator Resistance. I'm hoping their Robocop FPS turns out good too. And maybe they could take a crack at other licensed games like: Starship Troopers, Aliens, Warhammer 40k, and perhaps Rambo again.
I really enjoyed operation flashpoint as well! Solid game 🙂
@That Video Games Show, Operation Flashpoint Red River wasn't bad either. Unfortunately, the franchise has been dead since that 1.
I know on pc there's the Arma games, but none have come to consoles.
Ah well, Six Days In Fallujah is still coming.
I loved Clive Barkers Jericho, finished like 3 times lol.

Out of all the games on your list, I have never heard of any of them or played any of them, I have heard of Rambo as a movie series but not as a game, after watching all of these games on your list, they all look really terrible and I probably won't try any of them, I really appreciate you making lists of games that we should try or avoid TVGS, you did a great job buddy ✌️
Surprised you havent heard of Ride to hell retribution. That's one of those so bad its infamous games.
While I agree with everything you said about Rambo, IF you use the PS Move instead of standard controls, it becomes a fun (yet tough) light gun arcade game-style experience.

Neverdead is one that had so much potential and fell flat on its execution. Although I must admit that it is a guilty pleasure of mine.
It's a game I wanted to like because of the story and characters. But the gimmik is annying. I remmber there been a few clever puzzle like uses for it though.
@@OwtDaftUK the gameplay is the real issue. Although it could have been great, the execution was sloppy. There's fun in getting dismembered and using your limbs to fight, but it happens too much and it becomes frustating.
I actally loved Damnation, I remmeber when i finished it I started another playthough straight away. I did enjoy Rogue Warrior too though I do understand why that one is in this video. For me it was short and didn't over stay it's welcome. I got it cheap and it's a good laugh.
Because it has a certain shitty action flick of 80-90's vibe. But I have Just Cause for that.
As someone who has never heard of Damnation before: I laughed because he shīts all over the story and gameplay, then proceeds to show an awesome looking clips of the game, looking like a ridiculous version of Uncharted. lol
@@esperago It's not really a bad game. Even all of the clips he shown showed a decent budget title. If it's just an average title then it could be fun a time. Not something fantastic like Uncharted but something you can get for a low budget and have a fun time with.

I enjoyed Rogue Warrior for its cheese. The credits song is great too, haha. Damnation felt like a PS2 game with the way it controlled and the way you would platform. I wouldn't call it a bad game, just a mediocre one. Magus I have a digital copy of(I got it for like 3 bucks during a sale) and for some odd reason I'd like to try it out one of these days.
I've never heard of Girl Fight or Smash n' Survive and I'm big on playing & collecting for the Ps3. Guessing they're digital-only releases, maybe even PAL exclusive?

Yeah games are so expensive to make now you really dont get awful games like this anymore. Just modern broken games that eventually get fixed like Battlefield and Cyberpunk
@@aceofhearts573 As far as I'm aware Cyberpunk has made little to no progress when it comes to getting fixed. Plenty of horrible games are still made though. Balance Wonderworld was a re ent punching bag, and theres GTA Definitive edition.
I liked your video. There are little to none redeeming qualities in these games. I always thought x-blades was a somewhat mediocre game, but your point on the controls takes the score down a notch or ten. Hope you have fun for the next one of these videos.

Damnation and Rogue Warrior are good games, they just didn't live up to high expectations. Last Rebellion and X Blades aren't good games, but they're far from the worst. If you really want to see some terrible games on PS3, then look up World Hunter, 5 Star Wrestling, or Aabs Animals.
Xblades was medicore but tbh, it was a fun (at least for me) time waster. Ive seen worse games on ps3 like unearthed or Haunted demons forge

Personally, I had a lot of fun with X-blades. The sequel was even better.
Rogue warrior is one of those game its so bad its good. People just play it to hear all those ridiculous one liners and stuff.

Rebellion also put out Shellshock 2: Blood Trails around the time Rogue Warrior released on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
Not too bad for its dirt cheap price.
I'm feeling out of my mind, but I'm sure zombies in Amy uses modified mesh from RE4. Also I faintly remember Amy and the heroine is a stock Daz3D models from late 2000s.

Lol x-blades and blades of time are actually 2 of my favorite ps3 games I adore Ayumi
The women really are treated horribly in that game. I remember in a review where the player saved a woman from being sexually assaulted. And what's the reward? Sex! And not just any sex, but fully clothed dry sex.
You are totally exaggerating with X-Blades. Yes, obviously it is far from the best Hack 'n Slay/Action game but it nontheless does the same things all those óther games do: You run around and randomly destroy shit until the game is over. That is what all these games are. The gameplay itself was never my biggest problem, just that the game itself could become boring easily as it barely had a story and you just circled the island twice. For one of the first PS3 games it still was an acceptable action game. People were just spoiled from Triple AAA games.

I think I could get some enjoyment outta the Last Rebellion. It looks like the kind of title that'd have seen moderate success on the PS2. I could dig that, in retrospect.
Not saying it doesn't belong on this list tho.
I am glad that "Ninja Gaiden Z" didn't find its way into the list, the game is actually pretty decent if you can get used to the frantic camera cuts and the arcade-natured repetition of its gameplay. Loved the fast-paced humour and quips, that's for sure.
I expected Star Trek to be on this one. Maybe part 2. 😂
Pc port of xblades is worse because the physics don't work causing platforming sections to randomly become impossible because double jump randomly doesn't function anymore.
X-Blades is incredibly vapid, incredibly boring, it's controls are floaty and awkward and the combat has no weight in any way shape or form.
But man.
Ayumi is pretty cute.
I didn't really get to finish Xblade cause yes its so boring the blade and guns only function it seems is to fill the gauge of your magic meter to use those AOE magic. Feels like an unfinished student project.
I actually enjoyed X-Blades. Doesn't seem like I am in the majority there. But, I didn't really like the sequel Blades of Time.
Risky found X-Blades enjoyable as well ironically. Really enjoyed the female MC despite my issues controlling her😅 for $5 bucks I actually liked X-Blades mor the Heavenly sword

I heard Rambo is an awesome railshooter with the move gun rifle.
Interestingly, most of the games listed in this list are PSN games, and as we well know, whether quality is very questionable.
More games that were missing: leisure suit Larry: box office bust, haze, atomic kitty, monster madness, the last crusade, never dead
I would say that Cursed Crusade is the worst PS3 game in my collection. That Atlus stamp on the box was pretty misleading.

You missed the opportunity for dual-shockingly terrible and that makes me sad
the ironic fact that Rambo doesn't play good fits with the fact it was a port of the Arcade Cabinet, not confirmed but it would fit since the HUD is the same as well as the mechanics, and not a built from the ground up game. Would also explain the VHS sounding voice clips.
X-Blades died so that it could be rebooted into the surprisingly decent Blades of Time.
It is more shocking when you find a good PS3 game.
The Rambo game looks like it would have worked better if it was a light gun game (possibly using Police 24/7-style hiding where you can side-step or duck to use cover).

As a person who hasn't played a majority of the games here, it would definitely help if you showed gameplay footage of the issues you had with the games. Like for example with Rambo, you complained about the aiming and the controls as you're mostly getting headshots. I'm sure I would understand if I played but that would also mean with enough time, I can get used to it as you clearly did which doesn't make it a bad game.

@@budaroddy You clearly misunderstood what I'm saying. I'm not asking or suggesting that he list all of the flaws of the games he presents. What I'm suggesting that whatever flaws he does state, he shows gameplay footage of said flaw. It's hard for someone who hasn't played the game to take his word on it about bad controls when he's picking off nearly every enemy with a headshot.

Thankfully, I only have played one of these turds. I picked up X-Blades because the box made it look.....interesting. I played for around an hour and couldn't take any more of it.

Rogue Warrior is one of the best bad games you will ever play.
Having X-Blades on this list is an exaggeration. I mean, "shockingly terrible" is too much to describe it. Not a stellar game for sure, I wouldn't play it again or recommend it for anyone specifically. The game is just...OK-ish, but not the disaster you made it to be. Maybe my "secret" to enjoy it was to play it in short sessions, so you don't get bored :) I also I played it on PC, so maybe the higher resolution and fps helped somewhat.
But then again, the list is for PS3, so what do I know, maybe it was indeed bad on PS3.

Rogue warrior could be a good game if it wasn't as easy and as short. And if protagonist were a silent professional - not the badmouthing bloodthirsty psycho.
Really - this is the FIRST game in my life, which i completed from the first playthrough without dying even once. On a maximum difficulty.
It gives you no challenge at all!
Also - game needs a story and some faces. Here's just no such things.
It's just my opinion, but games with no physical release like Girl Fight, Smash 'n Survive and Amy should not be considered for this kind of list. Or may-be just have it's own list of terrible digital only games. Otherwise, I like your videos.

So I just beat Rogue warrior on hard in about 4 hours. Honestly it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but it wasn’t good. I’ve been on a bad game kick lately, having beaten Terminator salvation, Jurassic the hunted, now Rogue warrior. Rogue warrior was probably the best out of the three

I'd like to see a video about the best 3D Playstation 3 games. I bought a used Playstation 3D monitor just so I could experience 3D games on it (along with 3D Blu-Ray movies like Dredd) and I wouldn't mind a little bit of guidance.
