Oh shit! I Will Truly Understood literally spanned the whole of Jerry's career. This is wild. I am so used to the Shady Grove version and hearing the latest iteration of Jerry's voice. So cool to hear one of the earliest iterations!

Meu deus, que isso!!! Eu jamais suspeitaria da existência desse áudio. Que demais ouvir o Jerry tão novinho e o banjo!!!! Maravilhoso, obrigado demais Elaine!

Thanks for uploading this rare show! I’ve been trying to find recordings from Jerry doing bluegrass and banjo and this hits the spot. I just discovered your channel and you have a new subscriber.
Wow. Good shit man. Just what I want to listen to at 10:30 AM Sunday Morning. Nashville's lost is the rest of the worlds gain. But serious, good stuff.
Expecting some great jams from this. If the opening track is any indication of what to expect, then I KNOW that this is gonna be GOOD! Thanks for posting and sharing. LIRNFA!😊❤👍🤟🤘✌☮
Dont do heroin kids.. your voice will remain fine like it is here.. that nasal-ey whine comes with too many opiates.. dont get me wrong.. i love jerry.. GD saved my life many times over. I just really hate that such a gift was later squandered a little as his focus was diverted. Thanks for this recording. Its really nice.
@@bluerxstandard the causes of Jerry's shredded voice include singing several thousand shows with an untrained voice, smoking cigarets heavily for decades, smoking pot heavily for decades, chasing the dragon and free-basing. It's probably the last that accounts for his biggest vocal problems in the early-mid 80s. And none of this is really -- as Jerry said -- any of our business.
Hallelujah. God is the only one who can judge. Jerry was pure love his entire life. I understand why Jerry used opiates. Stage Freight. 1/4 of fans idolizing him like God himself. Jerry didn't dig that shit. He covered "Ain't No Bread In the Bread Box" for a reason..."Open Up Your Eyes Little Darling. It's Time to Move Along. Been here for FAR TOO LONG." He was telling us something profound. @@jimpowell6789
Banjo, mandolin, autoharp and fiddle. Who would think this guy was going to be the G.O.A.T of rock and roll lead guitarists. 🤷🏼♂️
It's Sara playing autoharp (and possibly some of the fiddle? -- but JerryBase has a photo from this gig of Jerry playing one, unbelievably enough).
And still played the same jug band song for 50 years.

Yes me either. Maybe a short snippet in the Long Strange Trip doc. This is a gem for sure. He is a child. Not yet 21 years old.

Don't talk this **** about Jerry, please. He lived his life, carried his soul. Carry yours.
@jimpowell6789 Work with him, the truth hurts. You'll live.
@@jimpowell6789 not **** brother.. only truth. His voice changed amidst an opiate addiction is all I'm saying.
