I'm getting ready to purchase a 2019 PPV Tahoe as a personal vehicle. I was just curious as to what it was still capable of doing, so I decided to give your videos and some others a look. Except for the equipment of course, it still has everything that gives it an official look. The spot light even works.
Hey this video just popped up on my sugs/recs. I loved it. Def a new subscriber. I admire all our LEO's and what they do on a day to day basis. This video was a bit enlightening. Going to browse your channel now. Laters all.
One of the best Tahoes I've seen. Although, why do you guys put lightsticks on that lower deck of the pushbar? They're so low that if you're behind someone, trying to get them out of your way or pulled over, they won't see it. Wouldn't some dual color lights in the top of the pushbar make more sense? I'm honesty curious, not trying to criticize, because it's an amazing build otherwise!
Spartemex most push bars you can see the top of them from inside the vehicle, im sure they did this in mind with the cop not staring at it while its on. Id imagine that getting annoying personally
That's what I usually do when I build my police cars, and the whole "they wont see it" bit, they don't really have to see it, cause the lightbar will give enough reflection in the rear view mirror, they'd know at all times "hey thats a police officer, let me move" so,
I drive a 2016 Tahoe PPV as a patrol car. Honestly, after driving many different manufacturers models of patrol cars, the Tahoe PPV is, by far and hands down the best patrol vehicle I’ve driven. I’m super meticulous/picky regarding patrol vehicles. My ONLY complaint about the Tahoe PPV is the breaking or lack there of. Chevy 100% dropped the ball by keeping the smaller breaks instead of throwing corvette breaks on it. The Tahoe loves to go, but hates to stop. I literally go thru a set of breaks around every 2-3 oil changes. It’s a large vehicle off the line, then add the equipments weight . If they would have simply added larger breaks the vehicle would be an impeccable patrol car.!!
Where would you mount the Whelen CanTrol WC control module in this vehicle? Is there enough room to mount under the center console? Or does it need to be mounted in the rear cabin of the vehicle?
jonathan lavezzi I've heard the ford utilities aka are the most reliable out of the new gen cop cars hence why they're more popular than this and the other alternatives.
Not necessarily, a lot of small town departments in Pennsylvania only have 3 or 4 vehicles, and if they were to get a new car, it would most likely replace a old car instead of adding to their fleet.
I hate the tahoes. while it is fast has good turn radius, it is like driving a hippopotamus. now advantage on these is it makes one hell of a ram and has advantage of weight in a pit pursuit.
The Explorers are so much smaller though. So if you're rocking full gear or you're just a big ass dude, it's not as easy to get in/out and you've got more space to work with.
GM stopped calling them PPV's in 2015. They are now called 9C1's just like the Caprice 9C1 & Impala 9C1. The SSV stands for Special Service Vehicle and is a non-pursuit speed governed 4 wheel drive Tahoe that sits higher with more ground clearance than the 9C1 Pursuit model. The Tahoe can also be had in a 9C1 4 wheel drive pursuit model. Go to: www.defendersupply.com to see pictures. Also, police vehicles can only be sold to law enforcement agencies or fire departments, not to individuals.
Gk Sevier you don't know what you're talking about. If a dealership has a PPV or Interceptor and want to sell it to a civilian, they can and will. There is no law or statute preventing them from doing so. I spent 6 and a half years in law enforcement, and I bumped into my share of cop wannabes, one of which bought a brand new Interceptor from the local Ford dealer with a clear title. As for Chevy still producing the and calling their police packages PPVS: m.gmfleet.com/specialty-vehicles/police/chevy-tahoe-ppv.html
Here's why it takes for them forever to responding. "Other drivers act like grandmas or grandpas and have no clue which way to pull over or most people will pull over till the very last second when they had all the time to pull over."
The lightbar is all this truck needs. All the other lights are just a waste of taxpayer dollars. A $5 flasher will alternate the headlights for wig wags and another one will alternate the brake lights and reverse lights. Done. What a waste of money on all those little side lights and back lights. Incredible. I hope the town manager sees this and cuts the police budget. Terrible waste of money.
h1an yhb7 a major danger when running code is clearing intersections. 45 degree angles are dangerous. Please Google it and stop making ignorant hateful comments
a lightbar and wig wags dont cut it grill/push bumper lights help with visibility side of the push bumper light is for intersection clearing and side lights for blocking roads really this setup is bare bones in would add mirror lights and in the fog light area and a dash light rear passenger window 2 on the running boards headlight tail light flashers and lights mounted on the very bottom of the rear on each side of the hitch and in the rear window on the botton on each side of the window
Both are used by emergency services, but the PPV rides lower to the ground and is more oriented towards lots of pavement driving, where the SSV is more offroad oriented.

Great video! Great detail love it!
Why drill holes in the fender? The sound offs for the mirrors give the same coverage and no permanent damage.
are the doors enforced or light like the regular Tahoe 2015 and up ??
No Wig Wags?

Does the Tahoe PPV still only come in 2 Wheel Drive?
If not they really should if they intend to compete with the Ford SUV interceptor
No it comes it with 4wd also , still pursuit rated also
jonathan lavezzi I've heard the ford utilities aka are the most reliable out of the new gen cop cars hence why they're more popular than this and the other alternatives.
Your comment doesn’t make sense. You just said they should only come in 2wd

You mean Explorer is better?
You compare it to a hippo but you say it's fast and can turn quick/sharp. That's a joke isn't it?
Ppv is lower with stiffer springs and shocks to prevent body roll it's quite capable
So many voice cracks 😂

That’s why it takes cops so long to respond.......they’re in a Chevy. It all makes sense.
christian shane actually, I would say 90% or more are in the faster Police Interceptors.
Why rush when you have the best!
Here's why it takes for them forever to responding. "Other drivers act like grandmas or grandpas and have no clue which way to pull over or most people will pull over till the very last second when they had all the time to pull over."
Gta:v
Too big for city patrol work
Cordell makes these videos SO much more interesting. I’d binge watch if he’d wear less clothing. Just saying.

No.
You clearly need to get re-educated.
You're the reason why I still look both ways when crossing a one way street.
You're an idiot.
