Visited USA two weeks ago. It was disturbing that I ate "Pizza Hut Express" in Denver(?) Airport and my 6" pizza was many times better than any Pizza Hut in Taiwan. That was REAL pepperoni! Taiwan has special flavorless pepperoni made because Taiwanese people would complain that real pep. would be too salty. Rewind to late '80s and early '90s in Columbus, Ohio. There was an (apparently) Chicago-based pizza place called "Flying Tomato" and I think the parent company might have been called "Garcia's Pizza in a Pan". You could get individual rectangular slices or you could get what they called "stuffed pizzas" which had the cheese and whatever "toppings" you wanted inside with the sauce on top. Sometimes I'd come home with only one slice left because I would eat nearly the whole thing in my car! Taiwan is friendly and safe and great electronics industry and all that, but USA DEFINITELY does food 1000X better!!!!! USA food FTW!!!!!!
@abrahamWCE Nope. No "original flavor" anymore. They only have crispy and spicy, but they renamed the original to be "soft skin" and took all the flavor away. Taiwanese people simply don't like food that has flavor. Two weeks ago I bought a six inch pizza at Denver airport (Pizza hut express) and it was the best pizza I have had in years. Taiwan has so many advantages, but food is simply a failure.
I made a study I went to several areas during my life, I spoke to people I spent a lot of time thinking, I can say for sure without the shadow of a doubt that eating out is very difficult and expensive, in an area, typically, you find very few foods and they are expensive, most areas on Earth are like this, eating out on planet Earth is nearly impossible, people have been doing it wrong all along, We have to do away with that disease, a new type of restaurants has to emerge, restaurants where food always changes, and chefs also rotate
I guess I'll have to try Jet's Pizza, sounds wonderful, even the in-store pizza dough making. That's the complaint I've had for years of other pizzerias. Hope you're right would love to try
OH DAMN!!! These ALL look so good! I kavent been able to enjoy one of my favorite meals!!! Due to health issues, I have been put on a heart healthy, low sodium, no Caffeine or chocolate anything! Keep up the great work!
I'm from North Carolina and I have never heard of most of these pizza places. The only ones that I have seen is Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Dominoes, Marcos, Cici's and Mellow Mushroom.
Giordano’s is the only pizzeria that started out as local and expanded while maintaining a resemblance of quality. My go to for pizza during golfing trips to Orlando
Pieology is my favorite with all of their options and the quality of their ingredients. There are so many pizza chains that are coming out with similar concepts like Mod and Blaze, but Pieology has the most options (my favorite are the crust options) out of all the chains I've been to. I also hope Jet's and Giordanos expand to more cities. *Edit* I haven't had Pizza Studios yet but I hope to try it soon.
A Mod pizza opened up near me, I was pretty skeptical I was going to like it. But I was surprised how good it was. I like being able to direct the construction of my pizza, with the amount of sauce, variety of meats and cheeses, all you want for the same price which I think is pretty reasonable. I like the thin fire-baked crust, pretty good stuff for a chain.
Blaze, MOD, etc. are excellent competition for fast food joints like McDonalds, Burger King, Arbys, etc. If I want a quality crafted, authentic pizza, I will visit a family operated local restaurant. It’s about more than speed of service.
Thank you for putting Jet's on this list. The hand tossed round with jalapeno's and extra sauce is the best. And it is cooked on a screen so not as greasy as the square. I started enjoying this excellent pizza 25 years ago in metro Detroit, and it is still my favorite.
I love Marco's Pizza's Logo. That Branding is the best. As for the Pizza, I'm not in the States, so I'll have to wait until I get there. Will check them out.
At least when it was a one-shop operation in New Haven, Frank Pepe's pizza was absolutely phenomenal. I don't know if it can sustain that as a chain, but I hope so.
A'Pizz (ah-peetz) is a colloquial term for pizza that you hear in many cities with Sicilian populations. Many of the older folks used to call that where I grew up.
we have a place that opend up around here recently that sounds kinda like mod but maybe a bit more mainstream, there called rapid fired, fast pizza, the setup is sorta subway style you walk up tell them what you want from the items int he case, they prep the piza pop it in the high speed oven, 3 minutes later, ding, pizzas on.
Because diet is die with a t added to it. Because until you watched this video, the cat was looking mighty tasty. Because you looked at your roommate's legs and saw drumsticks. Scott Everly no not at all like soufflé. It’s a thinker breadth crusty and then the meats, veggies and cheese are loaded in. The tomato sauce is on top!! It’s wonderful!!!
Mary Kay Doedtman Thank you, Giordano’s is first on my list whenever I’m able to visit Chicago. In the video, the voice-over lady described a “Soufflé like” crust. Was trying to picture what that could actually look like. Still not sure what term she was trying to use, surely not Quiche (?) idk
I love Pieology! I can finish a thin crust pizza that I can take on the go or dine in with a cup of beer to go with it. The pizzas are sooooo good and affordable. 🍕🤙
Jets is litterally more expensive little Ceasars. There's an up and coming restaurant thats expanding in the VA beach area called Mi Pie. Anyone near there needs to check it out. ....i miss it so much...

Chicago-style pizza is one thing San Diego County lacks. I found one place 20 minutes from my house, but they charge nearly $30. I guess its Pizza Hut for me until Giordano's makes the big jump from Las Vegas to SoCal.
That big pie from Giordanios, thats what Pizza Hut use to call Priatso, that was the best pie ever.and those dutch oven/ coal ovens are the best, they give the pizza the best flavor.
I don't like Jet's Pizza, but I loved their Jet's Boats and Jetzees. When they got rid of them, I stopped going back. Marco's is great though. Haven't heard of the rest.
I don't get pizza from chains. I love my local pizza shop. They even made me OktoberFest pizzas. I took them in some Weisswurst and Bockwurst, and some sauerkraut, and they happily made them for me.

Pizza chains that are taking over, and pizza chains that are shutting down. You have Blaze pizza on both videos. Nice work!
Badge Badge “view chaser” channels care little about honesty, integrity, or consistency.
Marco's is on both, too. What a difference 2 months makes.
i noticed the same thing
Maybe the video sent people sent them to those places.
Blaze sucks
Blaze pieolligy and mod pizza are all the same cant taste the difference I'll take a mom and pop pizza place anyday
Fucking thank you. I can't stand these subway pizza places.
I'll take a digiorno or palermo on sale anyday which are better than these and then my mom and pop when I want to splurge.
I agree. The three you mentioned are indistinguishable.

With food we tend to become violently American with flavor
@Dank Dank Fruit and seafood here are very good, that's true. Don't expect too much in the way of seasonings, though.
That’s strange because Chinese food is very strong in flavor (especially hot spice). I would expect Taiwan, Republic of China to be the same
.

Absolutely.
I have been eating Giordano's most of my life. In fact, we get a stuffed spinach every Sunday night.
Looks like they make pizza in the style of Lou Malnati's and Gino's East. We're getting a Gino's East in L.A. next month.
Dale Thelander yes but they are little different. Ginos has the best crust, gio got the best toppings, Lou got the best sauce. Cheese is the same.
