I’m so touched by you guys saying “Why can’t we be friends?” I think the exact same way! Obviously normal people from both countries don’t have a problem being friends.
In fact, it is rare to see police officers in China. The uniformed personnel you generally see on the streets are usually security guards, traffic coordinators, and auxiliary police. They are not police officers. Most of the surveillance cameras on the streets are for monitoring traffic violations. The night view of the Bund in Shanghai is very beautiful, you must go there once. You can't feel the beauty of that light during the day.
Exactly. I guess those who are mentioned by @yonight6874 should wear uniforms with English titles to identify themselves as who they are such as "security guards" and "traffic coordinators," since Shanghai is an international city.
Finally, a China travel vlog with a title that isn’t 'I Was Shocked by China,' 'China Is Not What I Expected,' 'Stressful Arrival in China,' or 'I Visited the Most Hated Country in the World.' For that, I give it a like.
Haha, it was pretty stressful for these two brothers when they came to China for the first time, totally unprepared 😂. This time, they are so much more relaxed.
You two are so cute when having dumplings lol I love it but it’s better to bite a bit, soak the broth, then you can enjoy the big bite 😋 so the broth won’t splash everywhere 🤗
eejit...they are different but also the same and neither one is better than the other. if you are into fakeness and lights, you see it at night. but if you want the real thing, see it during the day. but it is best to see both. again, neither one is better. that is just dumb. like better at what? lol
You guys were looking at the Fairmont Peace Hotel with the rooftop bar. A basic room runs you 300-400 USD, not too bad. As you can imagine, it's a very iconic hotel with that location. You don't have to stay there to go to the bar though, you could just walk up there order a drink and enjoy the view.
Guys u literally went to the Yu Garden without going inside the Yu Garden? I fly across half of China constantly just to see it. It's the most beautiful classical garden which represents the wit of the ancient Chinese architecture.
I tried to go into the gardens a few years ago just after Covid and they wouldn’t let me in because I was a foreigner. I had been so excited and now I’m too scared to go back and be rejected. I think they are back open to foreigners now though! I looked at them through the walls though and they were so stunning. I’ll definitely need to go back
There are gardens like that in towns around Shanghai though, like in Suzhou, Wuxi, or Jiaxing. Suzhou being the most famous although I'm guessing that comes with way too many tourists as well, but then so is the Yu garden.
@@lzl4226 hahah. It’s like drinking the first drop of water after three days in the desert! After the lockdown I was thankful for anywhere we went that wasn’t our own apartment or for a Covid test hahah
46:11 The loudmouth impatient guy yelling "Keep it moving along!!!" As you guys were talking about the people stopping to take pictures on the bridge is pure comedy🤣🤣🤣
Perhaps you are the only ones who haven't taken photos of the night view of Nanjing Road, but when you arrive in Shanghai and only go during the day instead of taking photos of the night view by the river, it may be equivalent to not having been to Shanghai.
Fantastic video, you frackers. Shanghai is more alluring than ever after watching your vlog. Have you seen the video of the two Russian guys who sneaked into the Shanghai Tower and climbed it while it was under construction? (Channel is “On the Roofs”). Anyway great video as always. Thanks for the Banff shout-out…I grew up there, let me know if you ever go back!
Did you see the animated rotoscope ads on the walls of the subway tunnel as the train passes through? I though that was one of the coolest things I saw there
London's metro is about 150years plus so we are used to some old interiors even after renovations, only a few stations like in Canary Wharf look really modern/futuristic-ish. But Shanghai takes it to the next level. That old town part touristy place looked amazing and atmospheric. I would have loved to have been there. I am sure Ducky & Croc would have said the same...... ......
Actually the best black truffle is from South West of France in Perigord. And the best White truffle is from Northern Italy in the region of Alba. Btw, white truffle is much more fragrant and pungent than black truffles hence it is a lot more expensive likewise, roughly double in price, ranging between $2500 to $3000 per kg.
not strange at all. cities are always be the first step to travel or know A country. if i am travelling to US for the first couple of times ,i guess i would stick to the cities first like NY ,LA. only will travel in deep if been there for long enough.
Should visit Xinjiang! I was blown away but the stunning landscapes there! I now spend more time in rural Zhejiang exploring the beautiful mountains and countryside that I do in Shanghai city centre, even though I live in Shanghai 😅 I wish more tourists would venture outside of the cities!
You both have a lot of fun acting and your scenes are very authentic. China has its own space station, both in space with the International Space Station. After 2030, the International Space Station will be decommissioned and fall into the sea, and only China’s space station will continue to fly in space. China loves peace, although you also have beautiful expectations for Sino-US relations. But the U.S. government has defined China as its most powerful competitor, so for many years to come, you will see that the U.S. government and media will continue to suppress China and spread rumors about China. Defining China as evil communism, cities are polluted, workers are oppressed, living in poverty and backwardness, people have no freedom and no privacy, and the streets are full of police and soldiers. The U.S. Congress has also been trying to ban TIKTOK because TK exposes many dark politics in the US.
Very true, not just a powerful competitor, but some even consider China is a US's enemy and their objective is to destroy the "Democracy and Freedom" of the American. How childish and stupid !!
Quite the adventure. You got good food and a good view of the streets. I was once told the streets is the cities identity. Kinda how NYC is based on its streets. It has the most diverse ethic grouping of any city, and has strange people everywhere. New Delhi has a lot of busy traffic and street food unique to it's city, and has a lot of people from different views religions (that's in India) and political parties. Shanghai is more of a mystery because USA people don't learn much due to the demonizing of china. Very good country, def has it's flaws but we wouldn't have Nutella if the flaw of the great depression never happened. I love china, and I love your channel. Hope you guys have a fun time
The Peace Hotel is very expensive & that's the place where all the US President stayed when visited Shanghai. Antony Blinken visited Shanghai in April 2024 also stayed in that hotel.
Yes Apple Maps is definitely the way to go here. If you don’t have an iPhone then baidu maps is okay but Apple Maps is the most accurate and user friendly!
@ 21:40 , the European architecture on one side of Shanghai is not by accident. During China’s “100 years of Humiliation ,” the Western colonialists created a segregated city - an Apartheid. Certain portions of Shanghai were designated as Foreign Quarters where only Westerners were allowed to reside. In fact, within these Foreign Quarters the colonialists established their own mini governments - essentially, several sovereign colonies within Shanghai. The European architecture in Shanghai tells an important history of China under Western colonialism.

Poor English teacher me stayed in the Peace Hotel in spring 1987. The Bund was there. Pudong (the other side of the river) had basically nothing.

funny fact that truffles are being exported from Yunnan province (China) to Italy every year, the whole amount is much larger than all Italy farmed.

That is called lease area, not the real colony. China had never been a colony. Even HongKong and Macao are also lease term lease areas.
