Anyone who ever played this game, remembers how difficult it was to master the slight angle you need to have your jeep when you dropped off the prisoners so your rockets would hit the random jet flying by.
Same for me, played this in the arcade but never saw the ending. Think I made it up to the black cliffs part (about 15 mins into this video) but that's it. Very hard game but this guy is making it look easy, it aint.
Love this game and played A LOT on Arcades and Nes, later. I'm 43 years old and, in fact, still play a lot on emulators! Your video is inspiring in the continuous search for a high score! Congratulations!
I used to love this game at the Arcade, called Top Gunners in the US. Never seen a 1CC of it. Impressive, especially since you played the version where you can turn the guns with the rotary joysticks.
1986 was also the year a movie called Top Gun was released in theaters, and could be confused. When this game was ported to the US NES in 1988, it was renamed Jackal, since Konami also released a game based on the movie. Ironically, Exidy (Spectar, Mouse Trap, Venture, Pepper II) also had an arcade game called Top Gunner, also released in 1986.
Nor did any of us believe it was called Top Gunner, since in 1986 it had two things going for it: the film Top Gun, and Exidy's arcade game also called Top Gunner.
Yup, many home games on the NES were Arcade Games 1st. Super Mario Bros, Bubble Bobble, Contra, Punch-Out, Ninja Gaiden, Track N' Field, Excite Bike, Trog, Tecmo Bowl, Double Dragon, Donkey Kong just to name a few. Thank Goodness for M.A.M.E. for whenever I feel nostalgic.
My dad was really into this game and when he beat it, he was saddened by the lack of story or even a splash screen. He went home and sodomized myself and my younger brother he was so angry. My mom tried to stop him, but he slapped her and threw her up against the kitchen wall. I hate this game.
mmmmm prefiero la version que salio para el Nes, la siento con mucho mas avance, como mas viva... ademas la pelea contra el tanque final es de lo mas jodido que yo he podido ver en cuanto a una curva de dificultad que se eleva bien feo de la nada xD
Awful version! nearly unplayable cuz the jeep moves so damn slow!! The NES is 1 million times than this crap Castlevania: Better on NES Ninja Gaiden (Tecmo): Better on NES Jackal: Better on NES Gradius: Better on NES Salamander: Better on NES Contra: Better on NES Konami sure sucked at the arcade, they only knew how to make console games during the 80's

It's amazing how many extra people can fit into the Jeep truck when under the stress of war. Jackal is a classic.
In the NES version you could fit 16 people in there, as opposed to eight. The thing was a Clown Car.
Played this so many times as a kid. Never could finish the mission. Glad to finally see it done.

Ah so fun memories in the arcades.
So many lost coins.
Wow. I had no idea this was an arcade game until now.

Would love this game in a collection with its console parts too. Kanomi had a lot of great arcade games.
this game reminds me so much of Choplifter but in a Jeep lol 😆, great memories playing this as a child
A true gamer.
Pretty sad that the NES version has a better ending.
Wow I had no idea they had Jackal on the arcade. I thought it was just an NES game.

Hey Hamster! How's about some Jackal?
Great job! ♥
I was a marine and this game is a pretty good depiction of what I did for our country.
Welcome Back!
Legend!
I remember that game on the Nintendo entertainment system
I though that's where it started
Yeah, it has been my dream to finish this since 1989.
There’s still time

No big tank boss in the end?
Dans la version NES
The machine gun pattern is not natural are you using autofire or something ?
Commando in a Jeep!
does the machingun fire just in "that" vertical direction?? it's too bad! Or had this game a rotative joystick to changel the machingun direction?
it fires just in that vertical direction
@@danielhochedlinger2831 it's too bad. Thanks too much btw
I didn't know you could shoot the plane dropping bombs on you as you drop the soldiers off! 😊
Not all of them made it home...
FORD M151A2 TOW WOW!!!
What kind of game controller are you using with this game?
I think xbox controller because it works good with emulator
Es un gran juego pero muy difícil de llegar al final
My record score is 771600
