A pretty popular game for those of us old enough to remember it in the arcade back in 1986 . A unique 'twist' joystick that enabled you to move in one direction and fire in another. But not very original...that would be Tatio's 'Frontline' circa 1983.
Back in 1986 this game could be considered battlefield simulation. People today don't understand how many ideas this game introduced. Direction of fire independent of movement, limited ammunition and fuel, boarding vehicles, lethal fragmentation, different types of grenades and ammunition, all kinds of crazy shit. And it's still playable today. Simply amazing.
At the end of the stage, Ralf does a Galactica phantom to the end boss but they thought it wasn't good enough. So they cut it. If you believed that then good.
Wow to this day I still have not finished it. I remember when my parents first bought me the game. I just purchased it yesterday for the Nintendo switch.
The controller had an additional 8 way directional spinner on it to shoot in all directions. A majority of arcade games back then had horrible endings (or lack of one). It was more about the experience rather then the story. Contra has the worst ending for arcade games.
Before SNK turned out as fighting game company in 1991, Ikari itself as SNK's major IP is now 35 years old, the childhood experience of Rambo-like arcade game would never die
My town is very small place and owner of that cabinets probably didn't give a sh**. To get special cabinet it would probably be too big investment for him. And we as a kids thought that game was mented to play like that. Even when I got MAME I played it like that, until stumbled on reviews of this game. You can imagine my surprise.
The best version is the original arcade title, but the NES port is pretty good too. Probably the best thing is the co-op game play. There is also a memorable stage where all the enemies look like Player 1 and 2.
Plot: The colonel was Flying the plane like a toy threw the plane then General Corpse sayed CAPTURE THE COLONEL, Shortly after The colonel tripped on tripwire and was captured by General Corpse Corps and yelled for help, Ralph and Clark used the plane to get after them but suddenly the engines from the unfunctioning plane exploded and then they landed in General Corpse's land Then 0:15 - 18:34 Q: How did General Corpse speak? A:There was a soldier behind the Corpse speaking for him
I dropped coins in this arcade cabinet for hours love it is only beat this game once though took 21coins to get from beginning to end took my whole allowance to beat it once but I beat it once
"you have rescuRed colonel cook" that's good news "continue to fight hard" oh we're supposed to enjoy the game :D thanks for longplaying this (this way i'll never have to play this)
A por lo visto es más difícil la versión del nes, porque al final del tercer nivel (que sería el equivalente del final deldel arcade) los enemigos te esperan con granadas máximas y balas que son rápidas, llegan lejos y traspasan Paredes
Apparently the installation is for a neo-Nazi militia, and the boss is Hitler’s exhumed body, linked up to the computer systems. They couldn’t revitalize the body, but his psyche was able to control many of the systems (he probably used the body just as a voicepiece). Maybe Kawasaki/Cook was captured to provide a more vital body for him? I suspect that the NES version’s final boss, a futuristic computer installation, was where Hitler’s psyche was ACTUALLY bound. Either version, though, Hitler’s fully slain anew at the end.
OKAY IKARI WARRIORS WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU GUYS I THOUGHT YOU GUYS ARE THE GOOD GUYS I KNOW THAT YOU GUYS ARE MILLITARY SOLDIERS SHOOTING THE OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS BUT YOU GUYS WERE TALKING TRASH TO ME
Aizaku Galcia yeah the arcade version was epic! As a kid I had the Amiga 500 version which was a much more faithful port of the arcade game :) but a part of me actually likes the nes poor port also :D the AVGN has made me love a lot of shitty games haha, I've developed a taste for them... Wish there was a Nes Shitty Mini version of the classic mini haha
Do anybody here remember the final area having a Nazi flag as the carpet instead of just a plain red carpet? And also the tanks should have a Nazi swastika on the top of them instead of being unmarked.
I know two games similar to Ikari Warriors, both made by SNK and using the rotary joystick: Guerrilla War (aka Guevara) and Time Soldiers. Also, there is another SNK game called TNK III which is very reminiscent of the tank sequences seen in Ikari Warriors. Hope I've been helpful.
Fernando Rivera Glad to hear that, greetings from Italy! I like that game for its originality, playing as Che Guevara or Fidel Castro is not something you see everyday, lol. Too bad its control are difficult to emulate.
Andros2709 you are italian?, and i have one more question; there was an arcade game, but once again, i don't remenber the name, i just remember it was a man who fought against his enemies in a colosseum, the last one of them was an enormous viking that used a shield, could you give a clue again?, thanks in advance. Ci vediamo!!!
Fernando Rivera Sorry, I have no clue about this one. Was it a 1-on-1 fighting game (a la Street Fighter) or a side scrolling beat'em up (a la Double Dragon)? This would help a lot in identifying the game.
As a Vietnam veteran, I can attest this is likely the most realistic game every to be produced.
🤣😂

Congratulations on beating that SNK oldie. Never knew that game would have a bizarre ending.
At the end of the stage, Ralf does a Galactica phantom to the end boss but they thought it wasn't good enough.
So they cut it.
If you believed that then good.
Where did the HAAAAIR go!?
Uma lágrima rolou no meu olho agora... Oh época boa dos fliperamas. Só quem viveu sabe!
Wow to this day I still have not finished it. I remember when my parents first bought me the game. I just purchased it yesterday for the Nintendo switch.
Oh, Hell Yeah!! :) I used to play this at the Amelia Drive-In/Tasty Freeze (Amelia County, VA) back when I was in High School :)
I swear to christ this game throws more at you then it can physically even process later on
The controller had an additional 8 way directional spinner on it to shoot in all directions. A majority of arcade games back then had horrible endings (or lack of one). It was more about the experience rather then the story. Contra has the worst ending for arcade games.
Very nice , this is my first time seeing the end . You played really well
Same, but if im not wrong the NES version its extended.
Kyle Justin reference For The Win!!! I was gonna write that, then retracted on fear of being blocked...thanks for doing this for me, LMMFAO!
Before SNK turned out as fighting game company in 1991, Ikari itself as SNK's major IP is now 35 years old, the childhood experience of Rambo-like arcade game would never die
I know this is no the NES versión, but the AVGN episode about this game makes me think it is a bad game, but it actually looks like a fun game.
Ralf and Clark look like two Kane Roberts in the 80's.
They were meant to look like Rambo
I guess Ralf & Clark had some experience before Metal Slug 6 & 7
Ralph also appeared in a game called Tnk 3 he is one of the oldest Snk characters.
My town is very small place and owner of that cabinets probably didn't give a sh**. To get special cabinet it would probably be too big investment for him. i used to love this arcade game, the nes port was alright but like most nes arcade ports the graphics were a serious downgrade.
Nice run. Is it ever explained why the colonel appears to be 30 ft tall?
+CheesyChimp69
simple it's Colonel Cock Block
I thought he was the final boss
If he was that big, why the hell didn't he just walk out? I mean nothing could stop the guy.
I used to play a lot this game on my childhood , great upload !! :D
This arcade version is 100000000 times better than the crappy NES port. AVGN should try this one out I bet he would sing a much happier tune
You've seen Guevara?
That game looks and plays better than 怒IKARI.
What does that have to do with what he said ? He is comparing Ikari arcade vs NES platform
And besides Ikari arcade is much better than cheesy graphics and sound effects of Guerva
Loved this one on the C64 - a bit of Rambo with a hair of Indiana Jones... the glowing eyes on the stone machinery is a nice touch.
Sylvester Stallone stars in
Ikari Warriors as Ralf and Clark
Taking the enemy on in order to rescue colonel Cook 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The best version is the original arcade title, but the NES port is pretty good too. Probably the best thing is the co-op game play. There is also a memorable stage where all the enemies look like Player 1 and 2.
SNK's answer to Taito's Front Line.
Ralf jones and Clark Steel KOF
I HATED how the helicopters NEVER had any fuel to them!
The only game where you got to be Rambo just for a little while!
CONGRATURATIONS! YOU HAVE RESCURED COLONEL COOK!
Before KOF 94 Ralph Jones and Clark Steel
Plot: The colonel was Flying the plane like a toy threw the plane then General Corpse sayed CAPTURE THE COLONEL, Shortly after The colonel tripped on tripwire and was captured by General Corpse Corps and yelled for help, Ralph and Clark used the plane to get after them but suddenly the engines from the unfunctioning plane exploded and then they landed in General Corpse's land Then 0:15 - 18:34
Q: How did General Corpse speak? A:There was a soldier behind the Corpse speaking for him
Every man has a dream of Ikari! Thank you for uploading^_^
The person who I also didn't know very well was the narrator, announcer Lee Jordan. I didn't know him too well back then in 1985.
Eu era viciado nesse jogo do rambo.....tava acostumado a zerar.......excelente jogo e excelente nostalgia!!!! very nice!!!!
That marching snare drum is the shit.
We should've had an 怒IKARI movie starring Peter Paul as Ralf Jones and David Paul as Clark Still.
Agreed, there are way to little hair references here. Come on, Rambo Commando!
Sounds very Genesis-ey.
No, it's Genesis sounds very arcade-y.
CONGRATURATIONS!
I dropped coins in this arcade cabinet for hours love it is only beat this game once though took 21coins to get from beginning to end took my whole allowance to beat it once but I beat it once
"you have rescuRed colonel cook"
that's good news
"continue to fight hard"
oh we're supposed to enjoy the game :D
thanks for longplaying this (this way i'll never have to play this)
Call of Duty has nothing on this game.
Howcum your dude committed suicide after he rescued that big dude?
Ralph Jones: Ok, this is what happens to me and Clark when we are not attending the King of Fighters
Is it true that Heidern is from this game?
Wow, this kid is awesome at this game
I don't think the person playing in the video is a kid lmao
@@buzzcutinteractive Haha fair enough 😂
Love the music!
Victory Road is before this.. Guerilla is after then Ikari Warrior 3. IW3 took a over the top P.O.W. Approach.
Great memories thank you
Super expert. Really. It is a hard game.
Like a boss!
Weirdest final boss ever!

el mejor juego arcade de a dos del mundo gamer antiguo jaja
Ralph Jones and Clark Steel began here. XD
I remember this game oh so well.. $50 spent between me and my friend....
Better than the NES Port Version of itself.
Well duh, most games back then were better in the arcades.
OKAY IKARI WARRIORS WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU GUYS I THOUGHT YOU GUYS ARE THE GOOD GUYS I KNOW THAT YOU GUYS ARE MILLITARY SOLDIERS SHOOTING THE OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS BUT YOU GUYS WERE TALKING TRASH TO ME
Rambo ... Go, Go, Go 😙
Essa musica lembra o Mega Drive até devia existir o Ikari para o Mega
5:32 Apparently, the game is quite happy with letting you run over enemies.
its the commander of the 2 ikari soldiers =P
This the team of KOF?
Yes
これ好きだった❗
Ikari warriors
Sylvester Stallone is Ralf
And he on a mission to rescue colonel Cook 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Bokima laskouza likfino pommolikano irourivinawama xinawayoujifakima voalijka qaqlima xivoitiuyeminalina
Coronel Cook was a fuckin giant I am sure he could save himself by just stomping everyone else.
have you even played it? you CAN change the direction of the character, but is not like the NES version, you can change it with expecific buttons
Hola amigo en que pagina puedo descarga ikari warrior arcade por fa

Una mezcla del Comando y el 1943 jajaja
To this day I believe red grenades are far more dangerous than your standard od green or blue.
Me puedes ayudar a como descargar el juego de ikari
AVGN reviewed the butchered nes port of this game
Best AVGN episode ever
Not sure. I even asked Rambo Commando, Rambo Commando where did the hair go
Aizaku Galcia yeah the arcade version was epic! no
I... Do not remember that.
The Japenese version absolutely did specify that they were Nazis. That's why their leader is a rotting corpse, when the players finally reach him.
乱暴❗⤴
Excuse me.. Ikari is before this
Looks fun as hell! Haven't played the NES version but it looks fucking dreadful and almost unplayable
whish to see the demon version of this :)
Guerrilla War for the O.G. NES is better!
do a longplay of pokemon platinum plz
How is this game rated higher than Rampage?

Andros2709 the game is guerrilla war, i thank you for your answer; best wishes from Mexico!!
Fernando Rivera Glad to hear that, greetings from Italy! I like that game for its originality, playing as Che Guevara or Fidel Castro is not something you see everyday, lol. Too bad its control are difficult to emulate.
Andros2709
you are italian?, and i have one more question; there was an arcade game, but once again, i don't remenber the name, i just remember it was a man who fought against his enemies in a colosseum, the last one of them was an enormous viking that used a shield, could you give a clue again?, thanks in advance.

Hola
Eu não consigo baixar esse jogo, alguém pode me ajudar?
Rambo 2 怒
Avgn was talking about the nes version of the game. Although I don't really like James Rolph.
The NES port was very good, except... you had to shoot in the same direction you were walking. Absolutely ruined the experience. :(
