Prayer when on deck and then trusting that prayer once I get on the gate. That’s how I focus.

I’m a 46-50 Novice. This is my first season EVER. When I’m in the gate, I’m basically focused on getting a good first crank. But once the cadence starts, my concentration is on hearing that first beep and trying to synch my first movement to meet it.

I'm a 35 year old novice and this was my first season. I'm starting to feel confident at the gate but still have a lot of work to do. I do tend to stare at the gate though, lol.

When I used to race, I would look left and right, then try to time that gate drop, as best I could. I have never gone over the bars at the gate. But man y many times over the first or second step up or down or whatever.
Over shooting any target sucks. Hahaha
    I loved racing.
    I remember you Romero.
Weren’t you racing in the prime of everyone’s life, around 25-30?
I grew up watching all the different VHS tapes from the 90s.
    I don’t as born in 84
I built from the ground up, my 3 piece crank and shaver bars, riding near “”Bingham Bikes”
Glen Adams was the manager at the local Salt Lake Bingham bikes and was “rod” or “rex” as a stunt double in the masterpiece, RAD.
“And from Utah, riding for Bingham bikes, Glen Adams”.
I doubt he would remember me, but he was a cool dude.
I really miss BMX. The whole racing of it. Look l ft and right and say…. “This is mine today. Thanks for showing up.”
Rad Canyon West Jordan or south Jordan was my home track.

I love this kind of stuff. Fear is just protecting you because of a prior incident and you labeled what that meant or a belief that one may happen.
