I am absolutely in love with this build, also guys download some replays of PartinG vs TYTY and check out his timing. Harstem said if your first warp-in is at more than 3:20 its the end of the world but it really isnt, even parting warps in at 3:22 and 3:24 in the other game. The best timing i got was 3:19 but it sure is a hard BO to execute. After the first attack, take 3rd, make robo and twilight and some more gates depending on your macro and you are set for the late game.

This build, wow... I was able to go from silver 3 to diamond 3 in like 2 months with this xD. I made it straight up stalker so it can just end the game; some slight variations on the worker pulls for gas and delaying the natural in favour of 2 extra stalkers and a templar archive for a fast blink (in case only the natural is killed), but I am consistently in their natural with 4 + 3 stalkers at 3:30 (pvt) or 10 stalkers at 3:50 (pvp, to easily one shot). Pretty all in, but the stalker count is just so high; I honestly have not lossed a pvt or pvp with it unless I mismicro badly. Thanks HartinG!
Man, I spent an hour this morning practicing it and the best I can get is a warp in at 3:24. (I haven't played ladder in forever but I'm probably Gold.) At one point, I knew I was getting the Cyber down late and realized I needed to do mineral patch micro at the start to get the extra money by then, and I thought I was getting on point with the rest of the timings. Not sure where where the extra 4-6 seconds are coming from but probably just a few little things. When you said this was a trickier build to pull off, you weren't kidding! I guess the good thing for me is that if I did try this on ladder, opponents at my level probably aren't getting tanks out at 3:25 on the dot.
If you only get pvt and you always do this build you might actually get to low master with 3:24 mark. Provided that you can macro and micro at the same time ofc.
If you are a gold player, don't focus on worker micro. Forget that worker micro exists. You can do a split after starting your first probe to get one or two workers on the farthest side patches (on most maps, these are the shortest walk distance and therefore highest value) but after that do not look at your probes unless you have downtime. The closest you should get is changing your nexus rally to an unsaturated patch. The value you get out of it is completely meaningless below high masters/low GM and in trying to do it, you're going to miss a bunch of simpler things. I would put more emphasis on watching build timers finish. The goal (at least at first) shouldn't be to get anything to finish by a particular timestamp, but to make sure that each thing is started as soon as possible. Most builds fail because of downtime. By the time you get enough money to make your gateway, the probe should already be standing where it is going to make the building. To make a tight build, you can't waste time walking from the mineral line. You also can't waste time waiting for your brain to react to a "construction complete" notification. If you want that tight 3:20 timing, you need to be anticipating every action. I don't mean to imply this is in any way easy; that's some GM level action efficiency, at least. That said, I agree that you can reach masters with a 3:24 warp-in if your fundamentals are solid behind it. With godawful fundamentals you should still be able to reach plat.
this build and some other early agression builds (like zest 9 blink stalkers push on 5min) is for like D1+, for people who can macro behind it. I try to do this, but it sometimes can be tricky to build multiple gates, produce workers while microing blink stalkers. 3700mmr
i just tried the parting 17 nex you did the video on and did a scout for proxy and the dude 3 raxed me. AND I HELD IT. i cant believe it. thanks Harstem for all the advice. but i suck after defending an early push. i usually know i have the income advantage and go directly to skytoss.
Tried it myself since the katowice replays were out. It's a typical Parting build: Super strong when you have good micro and mutitasking. If you don't have don't even bother trying.
The first "good area" he circled for the proxy pylon is my go to on this map. Just won last night with a gate/pylon and DTs there against a protoss that tried trapping me in my base with pylons/batteries/cannons outside my natural and an early 6 stalker push.
What would be the best way to incorporate detection into this build? It's very weak to early cloaked units, in fact that's how TY countered it. Can we build a robo or forge when we would normally build the twilight?
You posted a game where Has (vs t) opened with proxy robo into hidden dark shrine... he lost the game, but I think that build has such a huge potential. I know you don’t cheese a lot, but I’d love to see that build again.
Yes, in the case the video shows. If they have an early tank an this many marines you can forget doing damage, even letting the adepts finish was bad (obviously, he lost all 5 for almost nothing). Having 5 adepts at home to hold a marine tank push with a shield battery is a better use than having them on the units-lost tab.
is there a safe way of transitioning into a macro game after this opener if opponent hard counters it? asking because you said that 3rd base is risky so what should the follow up be?
Good question! I'd assume it's still a 3rd base, but only one or two warp in cycles later, so you have some reserve (also greatly depends on ladder position, obvz)

the fastest warpgate i can do is 3:15... the original 4gate timing is 3:15... but Parting's 4gate-like but with 3gate with Nexus first, is amazing timing. only 3 second delay.
Doest this leave you exposed to mine drops? Thats what really worries me vs terran in low diamond. This feels like it has to have a lot of attention to the minimap to not die to two mines
Dia3 Zerg here, theorycrafting an answer. Vs Z: 5 adepts by 3:20 will meet a couple of lings and queens, but should trade very favourably if unscouted. But... How will Zerg not see this coming with his Ovie at your natural, how will you defend the proxy if scouted and how would you defend vs. a roach all-in? Conclusion: will wreck the Zerg if unscouted and he plays standard macro, but glaring weaknesses. Vs P: I don't know this match-up too well, but I know it's a volatile one with many different cheeses and all-ins. This build loses to all those all-ins with some chance for economic damage. Don't think it's a good fit.
Try not to loose essential units also keep your ressources low and try to constantly produce robo units. If you macro properly while doing damage and not throwing away most of your units in doing so you shouldn't have any trouble with counter pushes.
this is literally pvt in a nutshell - i dont know any pvt build, that is macro oriented, where the terran doesnt have more supply in the early to midgame transition thats why protoss has batteries and you can always reinforce in time, if you scout properly
I'm a huge Harstem fan....but I'm not convinced by this. It seems like any Terran will have a tank or mines by this point....I just don't see it. For reference, I'm Diamond with like a 35% win rate against Terran. 65+ against Toss. I just don't see how this capitalizes on any Terran weaknesses, because I'm not convinced they have any. Note, for example, that not once in the video was there any discussion about any particular weaknesses of Terran, it's just varying degrees of blind hard counters that they can do.
Are you serious? I cannot beat Cure with this build unless I play it really tight? This is such garbage. I guess I will just have to beat him like I usually do with my one gate expand. (Sarcasm)
I suspect that in PvZ you can't do that much damage to the zerg if they build a few lings, which they should on scouting warp gate chrono, and then they can drone way harder than a T can, so you will end up behind on eco since you have no punish for over droning until very late. Plus low ground wall slows the build down. PvP all builds are adept safe and get a lot of units anyway so you'll just die to any tech on the counter I think, so like a 2 gate expand into tech, as long as they wall the ramp against the shade, seems like it would do huge damage on the counter. Like 2-3 stalkers and a battery will hold the 5 adepts, and thats common in PvP. Though maybe this is just a more economic, lower tech version of the 8 adept opening? You straight die to every proxy though, like robo or stargate But at lower levels it's probably still playable, I just don't think it's nearly as viable in those MUs against decent responses
Check this man out. He declares a 1v1 challenge, then ignores me, the trainer of Maru, Byun, Dark, Life, Zest, Reynor and HeroMarine. I reached #1 across all servers, then stopped because it was too easy. Harstem is probably in his boat, traveling far in the ocean to avoid me right now.
i assume this build is a very good all round macro build - it starts of aggressive, can win you a game very easily and if you dont hit the dmg you need, all you did was delay your tech by a bit i consider this more of the eqivalent of the 3 rax terran push in tvp, whereas the proxy 4 gate is definitely an allin. If you dont make massive damage with that, you are basically screwed.

You can hit 3:16 if you get the core down latest at 1:25 and add a 4th chrono during the last 8 seconds the 3 do not cover shaving off 2 seconds

It's only risky right then. Get a few more units on the map, to deal with a counterattack, then expand.
I have found it super convenient to proxy at the front of my natural. Most times they don't even realize its a proxy

Follow up is hard for me. Oftentimes Terrans hold even after some good damage by me and then just stomp me with bio

The time you hit is the difference. The "betterness" of each build really depends on what build is the oponent doing, and if they scout it or not
