I was gonna ask how those undetailed notes were enough for you to practice the build order, but then it hit me. So for anyone who wonders the same thing: You can click the link to the replay in the description, and without downloading it, in your browser, follow the details to Harstem Stats => Build Order in order to check the order of all units and buildings made. The supply count estimates on the website are completely wrong, but once you have the order correct, you can check the supply timings in the video fairly easily. The only thing that's not mentioned there are movement details like sending the scout probe at 18 supply. The supply timings are always for when the building starts, so if it's far away from the nexus, move the probe early. Something I've been trying to teach myself is to always look for probes to use for building at the nexus rather than at the resources. It's not intuitive for me, and it makes it easier not to waste a probe's collected resources for the time you're sending it around the map.
@@TheHadMatters I guess it's just that after 2k hours in game (mostly Z, but many hours on P and T) I have to only put down those elements of the build that are new to me or different from a standard one. Also, I'm just noticing the minimum enough to then play the same build for 10-20 games in a row until I remember it. I don't like to download replays and rely on them, maybe because I was encountering too often build incompatibility errors with those, plus the YT video seems more than enough to me.
Thank you Captain! This actually worked the first time I used against a Zerg. Even when the Zerg when full on Mutas, the blink handled it with ease! Appreciate this video and keep up the good work!
how does this compare to the zest blink opener you showed years ago, i still do that cause it gets the fastest possible bliunk (~4:32) to shut down any mine drops. also can you do a sg opener, thats the hardest to hold initial marine tank/mine pushes with.
the 2 gate blink opener is a defensive build with a fast third that usually doesnt result in you applying a lot of early pressure, but you get a strong eco and crush in the midgame. This one is an aggressive opener that really wants to deal some damage to slow down the terran in order to get ahead. 3gate blink and 4 gate blink are hard to do well and depends on micro and decision making, while the 2 gate blink depends on solid macro and map vision skills. Both viable, 2 gate blink is an easier play style imo
I mastered partings 4 gate blink because of you Harstem. I have noticed this build hits just as hard and 25 seconds earlier. Going to add this to my build order lexicon. Thanks captain❤
Thanks for the builds and for sharing the replays :D I will put good use to them. This will help me out a lot. I just have my own build I made up that I have been using which is definitely crap compared to this.

gonna blast them 4k terrans - especially that Harstem's 2gate blink is my fav go to default build anyway, so the 3gate is a simple adjustment of my well practiced build, so that shuold be freaking perfect, can't wait to try it
What do we do with the workers? When do we build them, when do we chronoboost them, do we pull them to make the push stronger...? Not really sure about these.
Is there a better way to practice openings other than going into a game? Like an arcade I can reset on? I am newish to the game, and want to be able to get comfortable with this w/o having to worry about rank.
this might be a little tryhard and not worth doing, but I had an idea that could possibly slightly improve this build with very little effort. when you blink into the terran's main, you usually end up eating a full tank shot with your ball of stalkers before you start attacking. What if as you're flying your prism over, you bring a probe in the prism, and then drop that probe into the terran's main a split second before blinking into his base? Then the probe eats the first tank shot instead of your blink stalkers. if you dont immediately eat the tank shot, your probe can go towards the ramp while your stalker force moves towards the mineral line, allowing you to see where his tank is positioned and what is coming up the ramp without having to endanger your prism or a stalker. again, it's a small tweek. I can't see any downsides, except maybe that the prism would be slightly more vulnerable? someone should try it out and let me know if it's any good since I play zerg =P
You can always lead the blink jump with a single stalker first to tank the first tank shot then snipe the tank with the rest of your ball of stalkers. The first stalker that gets hit goes straight into prism. Damage hardly gets taken this way
Question - I've had a lot of Banshee flybys early game and this build has no detection at all, what's the solution here? Bung a photon canon near the probes?
Harstem, I followed your recipe for Poffertjes exactly except I skipped the sugar and instead of flour I used tree bark and they turned out terrible! Must be your build.
How do you react to one base all in ? cant defend early marine attacks with 2 adepts and i dont know what to do in those scenarios cause im a n0oOO0b but want to learn a proper build order not cheese every game
Could you please do a guide for bronze heroes? Seriously this just doesn't work against any kind of all in and that happens down the ladder. I simply don't know how to defend this. I already scout with my pylon probe to see if there are any proxies, but I still loose against every other Terran and I don't know what to do about it.
What is best response against 3 barracks mass marauder if you dont have a starport??? Marauder kills every Gateway unit so fast even if i scout it early and build a battery i struggle against it
Terran can't afford 3 barracks marauder, they just don't have the gas for it if they want to get stim and combatshields. Marauders don't do well vs some zealots, some probes pulled and especially not an immortal. But you can also just straight up beat them by kiting them across the map with blinkstalker. You can afford to take some damage because a pure marauder (especially if they don't have combatshields) no reactor setup leaves the terran in an awful position. Their medivacs and +1 upgrade would be super delayed and without marines their army sucks vs chargelots and immortals. So I'm gonna take the educated guess that you're facing this at a pretty low level (metal league) and your build order execution isn't great. You should never die with an immortal, stalker and a superbattery. Just remember that you don't need any additional gateways, you can spend your money just fine with 3, that your workerproduction should be the same and you also want to constantly warp in. I would also suggest that you actually go into the replay and compare at 3 mins, 3:30, 4 mins, 4:30, 5:00 how many units you had and how many Harstem had. Because chances are that if you had as many as Harstem you'd just straight up win the game without much effort.
Thx, a immortal is god in this with a battery and some probe puls. I had to learn i just Need to survive this all in, if the terran failed he mostly instantly leaves.
What if my opponent build an early 3rd CC to block the path into his main base? I found if my stalkers blink in, they will be in a bad position to fire.
I have a question: if I remember correctly, the 2 first workers in gas are more efficient than the third one. In that case, could it be usefull to build a third extractor to use with 2 probes so that all your extractors are working with 2 probes [during the time when you have 38 workers] ? or would the 75 mineral required for the extractor mess too much with the build? (I'm asking because you said that building an observer would leave you with not enough gas for your stalkers)
Many builds do exactly that, for example all PvP 2gate expand non-stargate builds (talking about an early 2nd gas). Here the 75 minerals would delay the nexus for a bit and likely mess up some timings. You're asking for quite a lot more gas here with 75 tho, so it's not like 2-1 in gas over 3-0 would be sufficient anyway. You suggested a fast third gas, which sounds very difficult to execute and you'd have to transfer probes between main and natural. So you lose resources overall (lost miningtime) and with that late of an efficiency gain you wouldn't get 75 extra gas either. Another disadvantage is that the 75 minerals are before your gates and robo are built instead of normally after.
It wouldn't be 2-1instead of 3-0 but 2-2-2 instead of 3-3-0. As for the loss of mining time, I am not sure it is that significant (it would be like what 3-5 second max for 2 probes which would be mining gaz as third probe in the extractor) Plus you technically could start the extractor earlier in the build (which would delay your warps I guess but since I am clueless about timings, I don't know if this build has leeway in that regards or not, so I don't know how bad it is), which would allow for really more gaz (if my memory about worker's efficiency serves me right) so there may be a use there for something [I don't know, like a +1 ATK? Since I don't think there would be time for an immortal] Basically, if I didn't misunderstand something I'm asking if exchanging the time necessary to mine 75 minerals [at the point you take the extractor] for some gaz can be worthwhile
I assume it would take about 2 weeks for terrans to figure how to counter this. So I have 2 weeks to prepare the perfect build that counter the counter build. I already feel my MMR increasing :D
3/4 gate blink and variations of it have been around forever, both the offence and defence are very figured out. Just learn this build, learn to play it well, and you will be much better off.
Always practice against the easy AI. Let's you just relax abt the BO. And if you wanna think more about the strategy/interactive element of the build. You play PvP so you can have fun getting into the head of someone 😂. Thinking more abt it...
All this taught me is that if I chrono boost my workers harstem is going to throw rocks through my windows

20 probe to gas
21 ASSIMILATOR
21 probe to gas
2 adepts then Twilight
+1 more gate (2)

At 38 supply add 2 extra pylons (one in your main covering the edge for drops and 1 at your 3rd covering that path as well)
3rd NEXUS before proxy warpin (8 total stalks) or right after it (game dependent).
TRANSITION :
- Forge (if you're going for the colosus first transition get +1 attack, if u go for charge first go +1 armor)
- Charge
- +5 extra gates (Total 8)
- 3 Colosus (you can either go colosus first then charge or charge first with immortals instead of colosus as needed).

NOTES:
- 2 adepts BEFORE Twilight (These adepts are important for both scouting with shade and covering potential rushes from terran like a 3 Rax).

@harstem, any new order for protoss 2024 ? before year end, after new patch
Niiice video!!! Show the skytoss (fast Tempest or Carriers) next time! :)
awesome!
Building stalkers while calling it a mistake! vintage harstem.
What time should the nexus come up if you’re eBay blocked?
I’m glad that Protoss have a Lambo too
Great.. Now I have to get back on the ladder to try this.
There was probe cut right before 2nd Nexus
What do you do if they Ebay block or dont go CC?
is this somewhere in spawning tool
with the timing on your worker scout by not leaving when you place GW you lose the ability to scout if its gas first
Question - I've had a lot of Banshee flybys early game and this build has no detection at all, what's the solution here? Bung a photon canon near the probes?
Terran can't get an early cloaked banshee against this BO without literally just dying to the stalkers blinking in their main.
This is 4 gate blink but instead of 4th gateway you get a 3rd nexus right?
Thats it, im gonna chronobost my probes
Harstem, I followed your recipe for Poffertjes exactly except I skipped the sugar and instead of flour I used tree bark and they turned out terrible! Must be your build.
How do you react to one base all in ? cant defend early marine attacks with 2 adepts and i dont know what to do in those scenarios cause im a n0oOO0b but want to learn a proper build order not cheese every game
Im following your build but i put an observer in, is that ok ?
Could you please do a guide for bronze heroes? Seriously this just doesn't work against any kind of all in and that happens down the ladder. I simply don't know how to defend this. I already scout with my pylon probe to see if there are any proxies, but I still loose against every other Terran and I don't know what to do about it.
Can you make more build order guides?
What is best response against 3 barracks mass marauder if you dont have a starport??? Marauder kills every Gateway unit so fast even if i scout it early and build a battery i struggle against it
immortals, archons, chargelots, disruptors
if you're talking about like a 1 base all in or proxy then you will need batteries and a probe pull
Omg thank you! Pvp and pvz next? I love the standard meta guide idea.
GLHF
What if my opponent build an early 3rd CC to block the path into his main base? I found if my stalkers blink in, they will be in a bad position to fire.
If they went for 3cc probably got no troops to defend
watching this to get ready for someone playing this against my zerg LOL (in gold race specific builds aren't a thing yet)
I really like this BO content for newbies 😊
With all due respect, why would you play core before nexus? what are the benefits?
So I chronoboost my workers?
Hey I chrono boosted my workers and the build doesn't work please help
so chrono once?
As for the loss of mining time, I am not sure it is that significant (it would be like what 3-5 second max for 2 probes which would be mining gaz as third probe in the extractor)
Plus you technically could start the extractor earlier in the build (which would delay your warps I guess but since I am clueless about timings, I don't know if this build has leeway in that regards or not, so I don't know how bad it is), which would allow for really more gaz (if my memory about worker's efficiency serves me right) so there may be a use there for something [I don't know, like a +1 ATK? Since I don't think there would be time for an immortal]
Basically, if I didn't misunderstand something I'm asking if exchanging the time necessary to mine 75 minerals [at the point you take the extractor] for some gaz can be worthwhile
Look at Harstem making a video just for Protoss players... That's fine, they need it;)
thanks Harstem for a guide on not BUILDING WORKERS or CHRONOBOOSTING MY NEXUS it's most of my games anyway
Never trust those Zergs with their infested reapers!
@@lillian8307 ...or I keep canon-rushing every single game, and embrace both my mediocrity at SC2 and the delicious rage of my opponents :D
Why adept-adept instead of adept-stalker? Just because adept is cheaper?
thank's my capitan!!
we love you!!
your build cheese pvz is amazing!!
im waiting for pvp build!
thnks!
What to do if they do cloacked widdow mines
Edit: this build is sick i won 8 games out of 8
It has a robo in the build so just build an observer. You can modify to react to what your opponent is doing.
WIthout a scout you are f*cked 😂
what to do if they engineer bay block
Usually I crono a zealot and build extra pylon. Will pull like 4 probes to deny.
@@loraxak yeah but it messes with the build order though
Hello Captain, I'm a big fan. Please, can you do a similar video for PvZ and PvP?
Tried this vs Elite AI and got smashed because my micro sucks 😂😂
Really appreciate the benchmark advice on building finish time.
Always practice against the easy AI. Let's you just relax abt the BO.
And if you wanna think more about the strategy/interactive element of the build. You play PvP so you can have fun getting into the head of someone 😂.
Thinking more abt it...
Easy Ai: GG
Harstem: Get out loser
Best thing in that replay
Noooo! Stop helping the protosses 😂 My mmr hurts so bad
Fantastic, going to get more Terran tears today.
