Try get a meal prep service that will do the dietry stuff for you, and if sugars a problem, look at getting a keto diet. Obviously exercise is going to help too. Also try avoid caffiene/sugars/stimulants/screen time anywhere within 3 hours of sleep. Also vitamin D3 helps sleep, at least 10000iu's, best with K2, i tend to use D3&K2 on overcast days, but only because i spent a lot of time out in direct sun, most ppl dont, hence the deficiency.
Are they helpful or do they turn you into a neurotic person who is constantly thinking about sleep. This past summer I went through a terrible time with a family members illness and I couldn't sleep. I became obsessed about sleep and sleep hygiene but my sleep didn't improve. Once I stopped obsessing about sleep I started to sleep better and although I still am not sleeping great I feel that stopping worrying about my sleep constantly really does help.
The Quantified Scientist RUclips channel does a lot of comparisons of various wearables against EEG, sleep studies etc. I ended up getting a beat to death iphone 12, an apple watch series 9 for around $500 usd in my country. It's way more accurate compared to my galaxy watch 4 and performed quite well up againat an EEG. With the apple watch, along with my cpap data, a wellue o2 ring, and the iphone strapped to my chest, I've got breathing, oxygen, pulse rate, sleep stage, and positional data to use to help me manage my therapy.
I've had 3 sleep studies. I don't believe they are accurate because, just try to sleep with all that equipment on you. The first time it didn't even work because I never fell sleep at all that night. The second night they gave me Ambien an tested from there. I forget why a third time.
I read that a wearable fitness tracker is just a great way to monitor your daily steps but, it can also be a smart way to learn about your sleep. Wearable sleep-tracking technology has become a popular and convenient way to audit and understand sleep habits and even resolve unique sleep-related issues. Thanks for the informative video Dr. Michael!❤👍
I'm not sure what to think of my Amazon tracker. I sleep for 5-6 hours, wake up to pee get back in bed to try to get some more sleep and can't fall asleep laying there. I know I didn't fall back asleep but it tells me that I slept for another hour or two. I'm exhausted all the time, it sux.
Thank you Dr! Are you able to discuss in the future which sleep trackers you recommend? I’ve been using the Fitbit for ten years and LOVE the sleep cycles but have been considering the Apple Watch but have heard that the sleep cycles aren’t included?
I have been using Fitbit for 7 years, and loved the sleep programs, and used them constantly. They were so helpful, but they were recently removed. I'm now also considering an Apple watch, though there are tons of very cheap trackers on Amazon.
Is it.possible that you can give us insight into the strengths and weaknesses of the different sleep trackers? Is rhe fitbit algorithm good, better, best, etc... What about the ring, what about apple watch?
I have a problem with the accuracy of the full sleep study. Who can sleep normally with 27 electrodes attached to you? Good accurate data requires no influence from the test measurement. Think Heisenberg .

Exercising and pistachios are also good for sleep, the most important thing for sleeping is to relax the nerves.
Doctor, what do you think about the Sleep Cycle tracker which measures through sound (in the current version)? Thank you for the great tips!

Orthosomnia is a real thing.

That is all taken into account. If it was positive , then those are the results.
@@TheSleepDoctor It was many years ago but my results were something like: I stop breathing for one second every 57 seconds.

They are on my Apple Watch 8. I use a different app to the Apple one. It works great.
I use the OURA ring. I like it best

Well they probably relax the patient and take precautions. Also once they're asleep they don't know about the trackers
