  • Today December 2nd, a beautiful and cool Saturday. We've got a day full of shopping planned, including our regular grocery shopping and some extra Christmas purchases.
So, our day started at the iconic Trader Joe's. If you've never been, it's a must-visit! Trader Joe's is an American chain of grocery stores headquartered in California with a total of five hundred and sixty four (564) stores across the United States. Trader Joe's is known for its diverse range of signature items, organic produce, dairy, and more. Most locations also offer a selection of wine and beer. One notable aspect is the affordability of their products.
An environmentally friendly recycled paper basket at store caught everyone's attention - it's not only eco-friendly but also creatively designed. Trader Joe's takes great pride in its private label products, distinguishing them from mere cheap knock-offs of brand-name counterparts. Each product undergoes significant development and fine-tuning before approval by a team of Trader Joe's executives, ensuring quality before items hit the shelves.
After grabbing some groceries, we headed to Ulta Beauty to check out some beauty products for Shemmi and Nanda. They offer a diverse range, catering to different budgets, making it a go-to for a wide range of consumers.
After checking out some fabulous beauty products at Ulta Beauty, we decided to keep the shopping spree going. We just strolled into the Old Navy store and snagged a few winter essentials perfect for the chilly weather.
Our next stop is Costco! Costco is our go-to for some bulk essentials. We filled up our gas tank. They provide high quality fuel at the lowest possible prices. And also fuel up fast no matter which side of our car the gas tank is on.
Now, we're shaking things up a bit. We popped into K&G Fashion Super Store in the hopes of finding the perfect formal suit for Nanda.
We combed through the racks, exploring styles and colors. Unfortunately, the struggle was real, and we couldn't land on the exact size for Nanda.
Next stop is Walmart. It's practically a shopping ritual for most of us here in the United States. So many options, but we grabbed what we needed.
From Walmart, we headed to India Bazaar for some fresh Indian produce. We usually come here to get spinach, drumstick leaves, and methi leaves. Plus, essentials like wheat flour, pulses, and rice.
Dollar Tree, the go-to for affordable finds. We picked-up some Christmas decorations; they might be budget-friendly, but they sure add a festive touch. In 2021, Dollar Tree increased prices from $1 to $1.25 for most products. Now, they plan to revert the cost of 300 to 400 items back to $1, as mentioned at their annual investor conference.
Finally, we made it home around 9:30 pm. Arun also joined us, and since it was late, we opted for a quick dinner - some fast food from India Bazaar, fish fry, some nuggets and a delicious dish prepared by Arun.
Sunday funday! We continued our shopping spree at Macy’s, The Shops at Willow Bend.
And also visited The Vista Mall in Lewisville. The Vista, formerly Music City Mall, and originally Vista Ridge Mall, is a shopping mall in Lewisville opened in year 1989.
It's about 3 pm, and we've just made it to Palm India. This amazing Kerala Restaurant is in Carrollton. I've heard great things about their Kerala meals, so thought of trying it. It is really a delicious pure Kerala style meal.
Make sure to check the items they serve with the meals. They're super accommodating; if there's something you're not a fan of, like beef, no worries - they'll happily substitute it with chicken or fish.
To wrap up the weekend, we headed to Boardwalk at Granite Park in Plano to soak in the night vibes. Restaurants, bars, fireplaces by the lakeside - definitely worth a visit.
And that concludes our typical weekend here in the United States. Until next time, stay awesome! Than you for watching have a wonderful day.
