  • 22 May 2024 - Today, another long waited dream coming true as I have the joy of bringing my parents to the U.S.-a wish shared by many. Our parents taught us to walk, to speak, and to be independent. They showed us the world and took us on trips as per their means. Now, it’s our turn to give back and show them the wonders they’ve always dreamed of.
Let me tell you about their amazing journey that started on the 21st of May from Kozhikode. My brother-in-law and my nephew, Angad, had been preparing for this trip for weeks. They dropped them off at Kozhikode Airport for their first ever long flight abroad. Originally, Angad was supposed to travel with them to provide some assistance, but unfortunately, his visa didn't come through, so he couldn't join them. But, we made sure they had wheelchair assistance arranged, making their journey smooth and hassle-free. On May 22nd, around 4:45 pm local time, we reached DFW airport. The flight was delayed due to bad weather; it was raining heavily. After landing, it took them about 2 hours to come out from the airport.
We came directly to our apartment from the airport. By the time we arrived, it was 7:40 pm. After refreshing, we all gathered for a lovely dinner together.
Then, on Friday evening, we took them to the Karya Shiddhi Hanuman temple in Frisco. It was a beautiful experience. Right after temple visit, we headed straight to Madhurai Tattukada for a delicious dinner. Yum!
We also made sure they felt right at home and took them along for our regular grocery shopping trips.
Let me tell you, having my mom cook up some of her signature dishes was such a treat!
So, that wraps up this episode. But, there's more excitement to come! Stay tuned for some more fun adventures with my parents in the upcoming episodes. Thanks for tuning in, and have an awesome day, everyone!
