RAF Red Arrows departing Newcastle International Airport

- During July each summer, Newcastle Airport becomes host to 3 days of airshow movements all performing at both the Sunderland Airshow and the East Fortune Airshow.
During this period some fantastic shots, be it video's or pictures, can be taken from the airport.
Here we have the Red arrows departing out to East Fortune to perform in front of a large audience up there.
Today both I and my mate Hamish decided we would pop along to see what we could catch. And we were very pleased with what we came away with.
We were going to hang around for the second arrival and departure, however, the weather turned against us and the rain came down torrential, so I opted to head home straight away.
Still, I was very pleased we managed to get them departing nonetheless

Jonathan Winton I take it you went on Sunday then? I went on saturday and it drizzled for a while but the sun got later.

Great stuff Jonathan. Last year I was staying up the Doubletree hotel during the air show and seen a few aircraft from the comfort of a nice arm chair and a foot stool with a view of the runway. How long were you up there for?
***** Thats the easy way to do it mate haha. Ah good stuff, I was around for about 2 hours or so after this then headed home in the car as It was chucking it down sadly.
