- One of the highlights for the weekend of the Sunderland Airshow is always seeing the RAF Arrows performing at their very best.
This year I had the opportunity to see them from an altogether new, and different, vantage point.
In this short video you will see the Reds taxiing out and then departing Newcastle Airport. As always, a great sight to see.
A huge thanks to my good mate Tim for the great day.

If you're wondering what equipment I use to film these videos.
Velbon DV-7000 (fluid head tripod)
Panasonic HC-V110 (full 1080p resolution 72x I zoom )
Nice footage of the Red Arrows, that's a great vantage point you had for filming!
Cheers mate, it certainly was. Gave a great opportunity to film them.
Always a pleasure to see them! Smart as ever, without a doubt the best display team in the world.
Couldn't agree with you more mate. For me they are always a highlight to see.
Liked, especially the pre-flights and the precision climb outs!
Same here mate, thanks very much for watching. Appreciate it :)
Great Video Jonathan. You are so lucky to have been Airside.
Cheers Dan, we certainly were indeed.

Thanks Mark.
on way to Sunderland airshow
They were on their way to diplay at Sunderland yep.
Ah now you have to cheque the temperature of the drop tank to see if the pilot has sneakily loaded the cannon, it’s 100%
Haha
forgive my ignorance, just getting into this stuff, what was the guy crouching down on the left doing as they moved over him?
He is on the apron checking to make sure verything has been completed and all the covers have been removed from the aircraft and they are safe to fly.
no more airshow any more, gutted 😔
It is appalling that they have cancelled it. 😞
