After the storm Elon at Thursday, at Saturday came the next one, Felix.

Die ersten 5 Minuten des Films siehst du ein paar ausgelesene Szenen vom stürmischen Tag in Zürich. Gefilmt habe ich von 9.30 Uhr bis etwa 17.00 Uhr. Als ich danach nach Hause kam, ging ich grad schlafen. Den ganzen Tag bei dem Wetter, da ist man einfach erledigt.
Bilanz: Zweimal Kamera fortgeflogen, aber nichts passiert. Allerdings ist ein Stativ danach unbrauchbar geworden.
Sturm Felix in Zürich, mit Start und Landungen mit vielen verschiedenen Richtungen.

I thought the A380 landing was pretty impressive. That pilot floated that huge plane down with incredible skill. I was reminded of Muhammed Ali's famous line: "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." Very nice video, some incredible captures.

Topi Heikkinen Really, I don't know much about engines on aircraft but they do look a little small compared to the engines on the 747. Still a pretty bird though :)
I've spoke with a few Finnair A340-/330 captains and they said that the A340 is really struggling to get airborne from a 3300m runway. That's of course when it's really heavy (flights to Singapore and Hong Kong) on a warm summer day.The CFM-56 engines that the A343 carries are the same engines as the A320 - series widely uses, there're just 4 oft hem in the A340. Yes the A340 has a incredible range and MTOW but it gets useless as it doesn't have the performance to get airborne. And to make sure : i'm now talking about the A340-300. -500 and -600 are extremely powerful aircrafts. Well you can see it all in the takeoffs seen here - it's really struggling.
Topi Heikkinen Except that A320 family uses CFM56-5A engines which are rated to 22 to 26.5k depending on the engine model) lbf and the A340 has CFM56-5C engines which are rated to 31.4k to 34k (depending on the engine model) lbf.

Very nice shots altogether, you are blessed in ZRH - wish you followed that A330 a bit more on the left turn at 13'30'' - if it was a VEBIT departure it should circle round the airport heading west at the end of the turn, it would have been a very nice long shot. Congrat anyway, hope you will shot that new Swiss B777 for us that doesn' have the chance to be in ZRH.

Super Video! Beim Start von der Piste 16 ca. 8min, scheint es als ob sie später als Standard Richtung ZUE abdrehen. Kennst du da ein spezielles Verfahren bzgl. sehr starken Winden aus Westen?

Zurich has a damn short runway!
It‘s just the perspective and the telephoto lens. Zurich has three runways. The one shown here for the most part is 3.3km long which is very standard.

0:14 That a343 was almost going to tail strike. Cool airplane but its engines are just ridiculous. Max 144k lbf thrust for such a big boy is nothing.
Dude, i know. I thought the tail of his plane was gonna smash into the runway. If it were an MD-88, and there was a tail strike, the tale cone would most likely fly across the runway.
Check out the one at 32:50!! It is way closer to a tail-strike! Breathtaking!
