@@blubbermammoth8426 unfortunately no, I got both my Spector and the X Ultra a few months after recording the latest album with my band. But I'm really looking forward to taking these two bad boys both in the studio and on stage! 🔥
@@federicomaverickbricchi8647 I found this interesting as you chain an AOU and a Microtubes Ultra, wheras I chain an Doug Pinnick and a BK7U (and thats filthy I can tell you :p), I used to use an AOU and regret selling it, considering swapping out the Doug for a Photon. I play multi genre, I love the bell like clarity DG pedals bring. Like you I'm trying to get better also, from where I stand I'd say you're well on your way already.
@@badger4361 thanks mate! I just bought a B7K Ultra too, using a Boss ES 5 I can chain amd mix the three Ultras and I swear they sound HUGE together 😃😉 do yoh have a sound demo of your board? Somehow I prefer the clean EQ section of the AOU over the X Ulta, whilst the drive of X is... well, unique 🙂
Thank you so much man, so glad you like it! I love the natural sound of this bass, so I try not to abuse of the Tonepump (with great power comes great responsibility), most of the times I boost a tiny little bit the bass and say 60% the treble, so that I can get a growly yet crispy sound
@@federicomaverickbricchi8647 “with great power comes great responsibility “. I like that. Thanks for the feedback, I’ve been trying to sort out the tonepump settings for a while. I like it but for recording it can be a bit much. I’ll give this a try.
Awesome video!!! What pickups are in your Spector? I also have a Euro 5 LX, but mine came with Bartolini pickups and I didn't dig them. I put David Ellefson's signature EMG pickups in it and an EMG preamp. I love the tone.
Thanks mate, I really appreciate your kindness! My Spector had EMG 40CS-TW, I love them! Nothing can beat them if you want a modern and defined metal sound
@@federicomaverickbricchi8647 I've been thinking about switching to those pickups. I had the regular 40CS pickups in an old Spector legend 5 I used to have and really dug them. When I did the pickup swap the 40CS-TW was back ordered through EMG at the time so I used the Devid Ellefsons because I found a deal on them. I love how easy it is to swap EMG pickups and try different ones out.
Do you have these custom Bartolinis with the DG preamp? I dunno Im on the other side love how aggressive and clear they sound. It's a pretty unique combo of these Bartolini Custom high end and DG pre
thanks man! It means a lot! 🔥🙏 It took me some time to get used to the Spector neck, I usually prefer broader and thinner necks (like my Ormsby or Kiesel Zeus), but as soon as you get some confidence with it, the neck is super fast!
Thank you so much man! I always practice and study with a metronome, starting slowly and increasing the speed gradually, building stamina and confidence
Between the Alpha Omega Ultra and the X Ultra? Though choice, but I'd probably say the AOU, I believe, my humble opinion, it's more versatile and has been the backbone of my rig since 3 years
Sick playing! And sick bass too! Did it came with those Gotoh tuners? Or did you install them yourself
Thank you so much man, it means a lot! It came with the Gotoh tuners already installed
That's perfection my friend!! Great Job as always!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🔥🔥

You know what, people keep asking if I have any sound clips of various stuff I do, this is obviously something I need to remedy. 😅
Nice tone and playing ...
Many thanks mate! Really appreciated! 🙏❤️

This is amazing. I have a similar bass. How do you set the tonepump? Or do you just cut it out?

How you get that clank sound with your fingers??
Fresh strings, low action, strong attack and of course the Darkglass magic! 🖤

Qualifies as noise, not music
