These are excerpts from our "We visit the Darkglass factory" video. Watch the full thing for even more awesomeness: ruclips.net/video/hScm7IGlMt0/видео.html
This guy got some serious top notch skills, not sure if it’s worth buying the amp knowing I still need countless hours to sound at least a small chunk like that
It'll make those countless hours fun.
Really? That's an awful right hand technique, dirty af, not precise, out of tempo... uggghh
@@mixbassdj do you mind sharing at what point in the video he is out of tempo?
@@mixbassdj yeah I'd love to know where exactly you think he's off. I sense some jealousy.
@@mixbassdj It's a classic, the guy throwing shade has nothing to show to back it up.
He's a great player. He got grooves and riffs.
That b7k ultra is brutal
Yeah and it is amazingly versatile!
Best of the bunch imo
Darkglass has been such an awesome thing for us bassists.
Very true. After I heard the X7 I had to have it. 1 year later, no regrets
Do u think it's possible to use this on a guitar like an 8 string lkl
@@XxXHardcoreshredderxXXxxxxxxxx Never tried. Maybe?
Bro Darkglass change my entire approach on bass . I play guitar too but now I mainly concentrate on bass I mean the tone you can get without losing any dynamics is more than inspiring so yeah man you nail it right on point🎉
@@nicolasbeaudry6158 Amen, I also play guitar and bass but I do tend to like bass a bit more, something about those low tones. My heroes are people like Cliff Burton, Geddy Lee, Steve Harris etc and Darkglass has brought the ability to be heard when you play well into the modern era.
Jesus , this dude can rip it up... more impressed by his playing that anything else!
when he started playing B7K ultra and mictrotube X my face spontaneously made a childlike grin.holy potatoes, those two are everything a bassist could wish for from his tone.
1:52 master of puppets reference
Why does everyone always beat me to these subtle things
I think the vintage microtubes is the pedal that is totally underrated! You can use it for all kinds of music. Not just metal. I love mine!
I use mine for punk rock and never turn it off.
MESHUGGAH uses it...i will get it...soon
the fucking girth on the tone at 0:23 whilst still remaining so clearly defined has completely sold me on the B7K Ultra
Wicked tones and out-of-this world playing! Wonderful!
His Band is called The Hirsch Effekt, Check them out, they are amazing
gonna, right now
did. very dark noise. nothing like this
All are great. I'm casting my vote for the Microtubes X7.
That sound hyped me up
Same here!
Yeah same here!
Me too guy’s
Just bought mine, it arrived today and I can't wait to give it a go and I am not even the bass player in the group lmaoo
Now I understand why Darkglass dominates! Amazing sound!
That B7K gives you a tone that will level a large city
Wow, definitely was great hearing the distinctions between the pedals. This dude is badass, his band destroys too The Hirsch Effekt.
Great playing.
Tones and riffs were killer too.
Really cool and helpful video. These boxes sound awesome.
All of these pedals are top-notch and I would be thrilled to own any one of them! That said, here are my ordered preferences:
Microtubes X7 1:11
Microtubes X 4:01
Microtubes BK7 Ultra 0:00
Alpha Omega Ultra 2:12
Vintage Ultra 3:13
Hyper Luminal - In front of all pedals mentioned above. 5:01
That is some serious bass playing, dude! And excellent tones! 🤘😝
Love it great playing and sound.
Amazing playing, really nice riffs!
the Ultra-Omega and the new DG Compressor are amazing, that Spector is sick tooooooo
Spector is mega brutal.
Manuel Rodríguez Ureña They are and absolutely the best basses I've ever used
Agreed. Wish I'll be able to afford one some day...
@stefano_ terra I doubt they'll be more affordable than my squier, but thanks for the tip
@stefano_ terra can confirm they sound amazing and not too expensive honestly. Paid 300 for mine and they sound so solid
Manuel Rodríguez Ureña legend 5 owner here 🤟🏻
That is a refreshing Sound! Not a single one among them with a bad sound. I am gonna buy one of them!
More of a demo of his excellent playing than the pedals.
Is why this track is on MY playlist
Well The Hirsch Effect just got a new fan. Damn fine playing.
A very good demo. A joy to listen too.
These all sound great!!
Awesome demos!
Seriously thinking about trading in my Sansamp for one of the Alpha Omegas. I need something that has bite rather than fuzz when you drive it.
That alpha omega pedal was my favourite too. The sans is always good to keep in the arsenal though. Don't trade it!
@@bigolcobfan I like it because you can DI straight through it and it still sounds wicked, which has saved my life at gigs now & then.
Vintage Microtubes is when I needed to check which pedal is going on. So good.
very solid right hand , very good demonstration , thanks so much
He looked really satisfied playing the alpha omega :D
best bass pedal review EVER!!!!! LOVE DARKGLASS!!!
These are all great!
Euro5LX with tone pump or other pre?
Sounds amazing! Great Demo!
Superb playing!
That's a great job man. Sitting in a factory and playing pedals!!!
cool playing! insprired me to play again after some months of absence... I own the B7K, Darkglass is the way to go for me for the base sound,
paired with a SWR Goliath Senior which delivers the punch.
Serious chops dude.
Love the Spector/DG combo.
10/10
that first test with the B7K is just insanity!
That riff run at 2:31!!!!
what IR is loaded onto the b7k?
Yesssdd! The alpha omega Were the growl or bite switches engaged?
This guy looks like a young Rex Brown! His playing is phenomenal
Banging! Loving the tone of the Alpha Omega Ultra! Any one know tune of The Hirch Effect it is from 2.15?
UUUUU muy buenos piques!!! Un abrazo compañero desde Montevideo Uruguay
What?! No Duality love??
I personally use the B7K V2 and absolutely love it.
Ok. Love the sounds. I have one question though. What kind of amp are they using? I want to take that into consideration also.
Gunner Rogers No Amp ;) Pedal + Loaded IR (a function that every darkglass pedal have)
Do those pedals make you play like that , they do sound relatively the same or it's my lap top
dude, this is absolutely cool! :D
top bass player and great songs. i have the luminal hybrid compressor and the alpha omega overdrive... will not miss the pedals on my board! the luminal makes a very clean and warm or dry ground bass sound and the alpha omega ist the killer. together a dream for me.
that X pedal was awesome!
Questions:
What EMGs are you running in that Spector? 40DC’s? 40P’s? 40J’s?
Are you recording tones directly or is there some sort of amp the pedal is in front of?
What is the preamp? EMG? TonePump? Haz? Darkglass Tone Capsule?
Yes, I'm dying to know these questions too. I have P/J with HAZ. That MTX wins hands down for me!!!
What is the pickup model? Emg DC or Cs?
Really nice. Is there cab sim in the chain?
Is that a Spector euro 5 LX? (If it is, I have the same in blue. Awesome bass)
It looks just like my 90s Spector Euro NS5 (Mine is cherry red and it is indeed an awesome bass)
Spector and darkglass were made for eachother :D
He plays Euros
Are the pictures of the pedals the actual settings used for the demos?
Yes
just saw this. mad respect. such a baadass player. love my dg mt 900 so much. b7k brutality or fat and warm vintage, so good. i'm lucky to have the 4x10 as well. just sounds increbile. need the hyper liminal!
Thanks for the video, very cool. It would have been nice to hear bass pre pedal to get a sense of the full tonal effect.
About all Spector Basses sound synthetic and mechanical. They have a very tinny, buzzy sound. Thats what i hear every time I plug one in or hear one.
Ordinary Nocturne I disagree, I think most people aren’t used to hearing a bass with a lot of midrange content. It can be less satisfying to listen to but works great in a mix
@@jobelewis6416 absolutely. I play a Fender Tony Franklin signature Precision fretless and I boost all my mids and drop the bass down to 2 or 3....but Spector have a very tight mid sound off the line. Almost bought one a few years back but went with a Jazz Bass instead.....great mids.
You're insane if you don't understand that's how they cut thru the mix. Does Doug Wimbish have a bad tone? And you do understand you have more than enuff onboard EQ to tame their high end right?
Wow...
@@sethnicholls7861 i wouldnt go dramatically overboard like that.
Insane.....possibly. but one way or another....it sounds like a fucking car accident.
Awesome playing and sound. Whats the first track please?
I watched a bunch of videos with different Darkglass pedals and now it seems to me that all pedals are quite versatile, so you can get a suitable tone for any. I still can't decide which one is best for me. Although I lean towards Vintage Ultra or Microtubes X Ultra (because there is also a cool compressor there!)
Wunjo in London has this... I really wanted to demo it but the shop was pretty busy. I'll be getting the Neural DSP plugin version, and the physical when I can
Damn Dude!! Skills and Spirit!
I almost forgot to listen to this today!
Awsome sound and player
The strings after this playing:
- lights a cigarette
Spector + Darkglass 😍🤩
The X models are savage.
Mine dug a massive hole in the floor, then climbed out and proceeded to spew molten magma while chasing a police car for 3 hours.
Im very impress about Darkglass B7K Ultra bass demo, I shoud buy one for my Ibanez Sr 505 BM and see how will sound :P
1:52 Woah! Aight there *Claypool.* 😅 Thought you'd sneak that _Master of Puppets_ shit right on by huh?😉
Wow ... yep if the Darkglass only made me sound like this! 🤣 it is a great sound but this guy is seriously skilled.🎶🎸I love the Vintage ultra.
Didnt know i needed to add a pedal demo video to my workout playlist
Awesome sounds, awesome basplayer
Very cool to hear how these sound in a mix but would have also been sweet to hear how they sound individually too.
Nice vides, though and what a monster player! Technical skill, sure, but loads of groove and creativity too.
Awesome superb excellent ....wow ..... nice
I saw this video about 4 years ago, I investigated darkglass and they seemed very expensive and expensive to buy, after those 4 years I finally have the BK1 darkglass and the Microtubes X7
Love all of the Darkglass pedals, B7K stands out in this video for me, awesome tone, also the AlphaOmega. But holy crap this guy.. Mad skills, respect! 🤘🔥 I keep checking this out every once in a while. Reminds me i gotta keep practicing 😂
How much do those tones weigh?
MORE!
All of it... all of the weight
As fat as you mom
im planning to trade my aguilar tonehammer with one of this.. what do you think the most versatile among those?
The B7K ultra
Awesome bass player and tones! Watching the Darkglass.com website i I just assumed everyone in Finland only knows how to play with a pick! I pick about 30% of the time I wanted to hear other styles before I buy it I'm glad to hear this guy play pick finger and slap
Great playing champ.
What can sim was used in this?
Great dichotomy with your playing; enjoyed immensely. I have the vintage ultra that I Use through an Orange Crush 50 and a mesa/boogie subway used to play jazz/fusion on a PKF 5 string Fret-less. I love seeing multiple uses for these pedals and multiple styles.
Microtubes X is the clear winner! What tuning are you using????
What song is he playing on the hyper luminal? Is it just something he made up or an actual song?
austin klein Likley, sounds like RHCP though
Superb Bassist!!!!! I need to step up my game!!!!! 😂
I don't know if it is more the Spector bass or the Darkglass pedals...
super cool! can someone give me the song list in demo?
The Hirsch Effekt - Tardigrada
The Hirsch Effekt - Agnosie
The Hirsch Effekt - Berceuse
;)
Amazing bass player
Good music, good playing, good pedals, great demo.
OK do they make a preamp/DI, Sansamp style? 'Cuz I need DI but those things are sick!
Wow!
A/O and Micro X sounds rly cool IMO. Easy to make sound bad if you don't know what you're doing tho.
I need them all in my life
4:00 when the microtubes x kicks in... HOLY GOD!
Could you tell me which Bass and which Bass model are you using? Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
That’s a Spector Euro 5 LX
What's the second song?
The Hirsch Effekt - Agnosie🎉
3:28 Throwing away the pick sounds best.
Not that familiar with spector basses. Can anyone tell me what model he's using?
Euro 5LX
