He was ready to go crazy and then the realization hit that this was bad news for the Angels. That was a hell of a moment in a hell of a game. One of the best of the first half.
So sad what happened to his career. He had the chance to go to the yanks, but chose the Phils instead. Then his former team wins its all without him. Now look at him. Getting hyped over hitting a nothing grandslam against a team doing nothing, while his team does even more nothing. Sad. Imagine this guy on the yankees playing next to Judge hitting HRS that MATTERED...
He will be a HOF I believe, but will never sniff the W.S. in Philadelphia. That would be sad, but he has 330 million reasons not to let that get to him.
That at bat incapsulates the beauty of this game and for me this is the best moment of the 2022 season so far (A close second is the Astros pitching two immaculate innings in the same game by two different pitchers).
I watched that game here in the Philly area & Harp murdered that ball !! Right field, upper Middle section of CBP basically, the upper deck cheap seats. If those upper level outfield seats weren’t there, that crushed ball would’ve landed in the Delaware ! … (slight exaggeration) more like the So Philly JetRo produce center’s parking lot (next block over) That thing was tattooed & left CBP in a BIG TIME hurry. Harper is worth his wt in gold. Not a big man like “Big Papi” but, definitely a punishing left-handed power hitter.
Anywhere I can listen to his call the next inning when Bryson Stott hit a walk off 3 run homer on a 3-2 count with 2 outs? Still can't believe those happened in back to back innings.
Just from playing MLB 07 the show as an kid Matt Vasgersian kind of annoys the hell out of me but I wouldn’t be mad if he ever did commentator work for the Red Sox.
I realize He’s A pretty polarizing ballplayer, but let’s admit it. No one is getting up to get a fucking sandwich when Bryce Harper is at the plate! I’m a Yankee fan, and boy would I love to see him in pinstripes. But no matter where he plays I like watching.
Yeah the bases were loaded, but they should have intentionally walked him... that seemed like a no-brainer since that's just one run and Harper was having an MVP season...
That’s something and 2 count Harper for you, he takes a tiny bit off his swing and focused on good solid contact to make sure something happened, and this time something big happened.
Please keep this man out of the angels broadcast booth. He’s nothing but a curse. After commentating most of the losing streak, his record as an angels announcer has to be like 5-30.
I still say this game in particular was what really got the Phillies firing on all cylinders this season. They clinched this series against the lowly Angels the day before, and yeah, this was Rob Thomson's first series as the manager, but after those first 2 blowout wins, this game initially felt like the team was just sparked by the firing, and were falling back down to earth when it was 6-2. But they came back twice in this game, here to tie it, and Stott's home run to win it.
I’m a lifelong Phillies ffan(so far) and I cannot express how disappointed I was and am the Matt Klentak was so honest in saying how they planned to spend stupidly in 2018-19 offseason. I’m sick of hearing Harper’s name when he rarely comes thru when needed most. This one homerun to tie the game and a game winner 3 years ago. Name any other big time hits. MOST OVERRATED PLAYER OF ALL TIME. How does a guy hit nothing for four months, go 2-10 vs Mets, then hit nothing vs dodgers, nothing vs refs last august, then go 0 for the series in the penultimate series with the division on the line and win mvp? What a joke. I wish people would look at me overrated without the hype and see him for what he is. A good hitter, but not clutch. A mediocre outfielder and a dumb hustler. Always near the top of the league in getting thrown out on base. I HATE john middleton for lowering Phillies fans standards to believe mediocrity is acceptable. When you hear the words “wild card” in June, any team’s fans should be disgusted not excited.
he was excited until he realized he was the angels announcer
It shouldn’t matter lol everyone who is an actual Angels fan is watching a Spanish broadcast
@@williamsmith8522 What are you on about
@@2nerdsinhell he isn’t going to piss anyone off, there are more Angels fans in Mexico than SoCal. Most people in SoCal root for the Dodgers.

You can hear the genuine pain in his voice as he calling what he is seeing
just like tmacs pain in the beginning of the year
i think it was more embarrassment. he was clearly suppressing some excitement.
Every penny the Phillies spent on Harper was worth it.

I miss Matt in MLB the show broadcast
I will never buy it again as long as that slog boog sciambi is the voice. Blegh
Ehhh he was there too long. Love the guy but it was time for change
That was the only thing he was good at.

You have to see Harper in person to realize how big and powerful he is. This guy is damn big and not an ounce of fat. His bat speed in incredible.

Goosebumps are an understatement after watching this as a Phillies fan
We need to bring back the rally towels
Lets focus on making the playoffs for the first time in a decade with a top 5 payroll in baseball. Then we can talk towels
Those are playoff exclusives
Only for playoffs
For the regular season? 😂
No we don’t. When there are rally towels, people don’t cheer and and it’s not as loud when fans they wave the towels instead of being vocal.💯
He was a Phillies fan for a spit sec LMAO
Gosh, I wanna see Matt V return to announcing games for featured MLB games instead of the Angels only.
He does both
He hardly does angel games
Still a great call
Way better than Joe Buck.

yes it is
Not anymore
Remember when analysts were saying his deal wasn't worth it? 😎😎
3-2 pitch is hit a bunch!!!!
Oh my goodness.
Best hitter in baseball. Stats don’t do him justice
This is a great baseball call.
I couldn't watch the game live but I was following the gamecast, and as soon as I saw Harper was up to bat I knew exactly what would happen
last words “make him swing at a non strike”, two seconds later rasiel igelisas proceeds to throw a 96 MPH 4 s right down the plate🤣🤣
Bryce Harper is worth every penny, unlike virtually all of his big dollar teammates.
