    Thanks for the upload and thanks to Stacey Schuerman! I've had anxiety problems for years, and it's breathwork which really helps in stressful times, such as when my youngest is having a tantrum. The brilliant thing is that breathwork is free! One can simply activate the parasympathetic nervous system in a few minutes. I wish all those who read this comment a boss day.

    I truly enjoyed your exercise, Stacey! Thank you for sharing this with the world. Meditation and breathing have enabled me to release and heal my PTSD and ADD. I have never felt better since I picked up meditation and breathwork as daily training since 2008. Anyone who's watching this or reading this comment, please listen to what Stacey is teaching, it's solid GOLD and your life will change - you just gotta give it a try and stick with if for a little bit before judging it. I have been meditating since 2008 and haven't missed a day since. I became so passionate about it, that I became a meditation trainer and started my own meditation-based business.

    The simple task of regulating breathing can have a tremendous impact on mental health. Stress, anxiety, and their consequent health issues are such a big issue in our society, and taking this small step can make a difference. As a medical school student, I experience high levels of stress on a near constant basis. The simple act of taking five minutes to stop and focus on my breathing, or just going outside and getting some fresh air, makes a world of difference. There are numerous studies on the benefits of breathing exercises for a wide range of pathological conditions. As a future osteopathic physician, I’ll encourage my patients to avail themselves of meditative breathing exercises, for their physiological, emotional, and spiritual benefit. The principle of beneficence dictates that I do the best I can for all of my patients, part of which entails treating the whole person with any and all beneficial modes of treatment.

Well, after this video I am thinking about to improve that exercise. Thank you for the guidence.

Of course 'looking' at the breathing is a common technique in meditation, but when I do this technique before I start the sitting meditation, the I get way more calm. I think it is the body that needs less air, so your breathing calms down, so you become more still. It stills the mind.

    This is beautiful work. I would like to point out that Namaste is a respectful Hello in India. It is a form of greeting used when people meet together in a formal setting. I think Westerners practicing yoga use it as a replacement for "Bless You" or "Peace be to you" and I notice they use it at the very end. This is completely fine but it might confuse Indians if they go to India or other Hindi speaking cultures.

      Namaste is the combining (sandhi) of Namah (bow to) + Te (you) = Namah Te = Namaste

      Yes it is normal ! Our blocks traumas stress all held on the cells of our body !! As we breathe with focus an instant release of emotion is normal ! Through deep meditation I have been able to release so much trauma 🙏💛🙏💛🙏

    great talk - for me and my coaching clients the topic breath is such important that I wrote a book about it 'just breathe toolbox' - it helps so many people to deal with many problems, physically, psychologically, emotionally or mentally - only by taking a few minutes per day, focused on the breath

    Just be conscious about everything you do. ...Self-conscious. Then you won't have to think about it, and it comes naturally.

    This technique is all about meditation. If you are experiencing mental disorders try to practice the meditation. It helped my emotional well beings tremendously and I overcame my depression.

    HI, Patrick here from Mind Life Flow... a wonderful video on mindful breathing. It's very powerful when practised on a daily basis...activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Thankyou - how is everyone finding this?

      how long does it take to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. is it a matter of days or weeks?

    • @DrPatrickKingsep
      @DrPatrickKingsep 2 года назад

      Good question. I like to think of the PNS as the 'rest and digest' mechanism and the ANS (autonomic nervous system) as the 'fight-flight-freeze' mechanism. Of course, the ANS is very fast in its activation. Yet with what was described in the video you can activate the PNS rather quickly as well to compensate for an activated ANS.
