1. Listen more than you speak
2. Don't announce anything unless it's done
3. When everyone else is doing one thing, do something else
4. Don't display a lot of your possessions. Envy and jealousy are real and so is energy.
5. Moving in silence involves not having too much pride and living a private life without any shame
Final note: Protect your energy, value your privacy, and recognize who has good intentions for you.

Don't tell them what you're about to do. Don't tell them what you're doing. Just show them what you did.

I "disappeared" nearly a decade ago. Silence is so regal and powerful. It allows you to transform into something better
THIS!!!
I deleted social media awhile ago… lost touch with a lot of friends. I noticed I always had to be the one reaching out, planning, etc. A couple months ago I made the decision to pull back and it is like I have awoken! I am finally finding peace within myself and my close loved ones and value the simple things in life now. Not everything is about showing off I have a life and finding that privacy like you speak of was the best thing that happened to me. 👏🏼
I so resonated to this, Krista! Good for you on finding the beauty of pulling back and just existing as-is 👏🏾
this is literally me right now, like i've had ig deleted for i think 2 or 3 months now and one of my friends literally was like oh i didnt know you deleted ig, meanwhile i wasnt texting in the gc for that whole time ☠️ really puts things into perspective when your presence isn't missed much
I ended social media during the MySpace days. I never went to Facebook\Twitter or whatever came after. I make it a point to never change my phone number so if anyone wants to reach me they can. Hide all accomplishments and dont invest in things people can steal or take. I know this video is for women but a lot of smart men already move like this.
@@Malcolm_LaFlarewhy “hide all accomplishments” though? Are you on LinkedIn? Depending on your line of work, refusing to network and display some of your professional accomplishments can block career opportunities and professional growth.
Whatever. You tube IS social media 😄😄😄
As introvert I naturally move in silence that’s one pro about being introverted.
That’s a good double whammy!
I have a friend who thinks I should share everything because she shares everything too and am like 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 duh, I don't have to my friend
Thats one thing I love about introverts!! Among many other things.
a fendi!
Yes!
I’ve always “moved in silence “ in doing so, I’ve been labeled anti-social. Keep them guessing, is my motto.😊
Same. As a clinically-diagnosed avoidant/ASD person, I have always lived this way. Tbh taking it to the other unhealthy extreme of reclusiveness sometimes...
There an old saying “confidence is silent but insecurities are loud.” This video is well articulated. Thank you for sharing.
you’re welcome i love that quote
Wonderful quote. Thank you, for sharing.
This was a barrrrrr 🔥
🏹👈
When You Build In Silence, People Don't Know What To Attack.
I’ve decided to not tell anyone anything anymore. Every time I say something about what’s going on or about myself they always give me a negative comment. So I’m just literally not going to say anything. The negativity is killing me. Better to just be silent in this situation too. Silence is golden.
That’s kinda how it unfolds. Or if you tell your business then all of a sudden your situation doesn’t work out for you. I’m mute. 🤐
@@EvieAswiti all the sudden I just remembered a Japanese proverb, “a skillful hawk never shows it’s talons.” I was always quiet when I was little, maybe I was on to something back then 😆🙊🙊
I love that quote! Cementing that in my brain 🧠
DON'T ANNOUNCE ANYTHING UNTIL IT'S ALREADY DONE! You've nailed it, lady! plus, "talk is cheap." For example: when it comes to "jobs".
omg yes!!! until you sign that direct deposit form or sign contracts DO NOT SAY NOTHINGGGGGGG ‼️
Yep. Jealousy, envy and projection is very real ouchea!
@@britjj5126 extremely real
Even when you sign contracts don’t say a word. Evil eye is real. Never announce your blessings. Who cares if ppl think you not doing anything in life. It should be only, you, god and very close ppl around you that is concern about your well being should know!!!
Another word!
“The pop out only counts when you’re not always out”
and that’s just how the cookie crumbles 🍪
💯
When you move in silence you get better results and definitely protects your energy!!!
I never thought Kelly Rowland would give me the insight I needed. 🙏🏾
Thank you love ❤️
😄💞
😂 I thought the same thing!!! This woman is very beautiful
Thank you doll 😘
She's beautiful and black just like Kelly Rowland
Matthew 10:36... "Your worst enemies will be members of your own family"
So sad, but true!
Stay strong and blessed! 🙏💜
This is so true. Whenever i succeed on doing something, my family members always gotta be the one who dim my light and make me feel worse about myself. I’m planning on cutting them off when i can find a job and a place to live or when i finished college.
Yes! Blood relatives have traumatised and used me worse than almost anyone (except one really bad criminal former boss, but let's not talk about it ;)). The idea of 'family first, always' is dangerous toxic programming designed to keep us stuck in the cult.
I resonate with this message so much. I recently went back to school for my degree and I would update my family members and friends on my accomplishments throughout my academic journey. Although my loved ones responded to my updates, they never mentioned anything about my academic successes. Instead, they would change the subject and talk about something else. I realize now that sometimes when they say nothing, it’s just as bad as them making negative comment. I decided to take a hiatus for the next six months and move in silence. I would advise anyone reading this to take the six month challenge and keep your energy to yourself. See what happens. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
That happened to me before as well and I also feel that no acknowledgement is as bad as a negative comment sometimes when it comes to your accomplishments. People DO NOT want you to win and it’s your job to discern that but to keep going. Great advice Michele!
Congratulations, to you and all you put your hands to !!¡¡♡
Thank you so much. This has happened to me but people tried to one up me. What's funny when people ask me how's school they school and act like they care but I realized they just trying to keep up with my success. I noticed a lot of people change the subject and ignore you. It's a shame. I'll take your advice I wish I never told people at all. Good luck with school. Blessing 🙏🏾
All of this💪🏽
You’ll love my next video - it’s on this subject!
Yup envy is real!!! As soon as I told everyone I was applying into nursing school I never got in 3 years later still haven’t got in. Ever since I’m a ghost. Don’t attempt nothing family related just keep to myself.
Yep don’t speak on anything until after it comes to fruition - best of luck on your nursing journey!
why can't you get a job? just curious because where im from they always hiring
It’s always better to exceed people’s expectations in the real world than struggle to live up to the portrayal of yourself you’ve painstakingly curated.

I quit social media in January 2020 almost 3 years ago and my life has never been better! My friends and family are always wondering what I've been up to and what not but Im loving my privacy so much!
I’m 15 and just recently began doing this after seeing how addicted my peers are to keeping everyone updated with what they’re doing and being in competition with each other to see who does or has the most. I just got tired of it and decided to let go of these overstimulating apps for a couple of months and see how my life improves. Also, my “friends” hardly check up on me anymore. You see who’s really there for you.
omg 15???!!! and you’re this self aware 🥹🥹🥹🥹 i’m so proud of you bae. Keep holding onto this wisdom. It’ll take you far in life 💕
I agree! Moving in silence is key. Many people talk way to much and speak on personal matters. And are upset when they are judged for it. I also dont like talking on the phone and having friends. That becomes a headache and obligation in the long run. Moving in silence is also so important for us black women especially because people are always observing us and studying our every move.
Very true especially the last point
Very good tips. I do most of it and I had friends that were annoyed and said "you do everything on the down low!" It just made me laugh cause they are really just haters and it feels good just keeping most things to yourself.
I love that for you. I feel the same!

Truth!....I always move in silence.
My Mother told me , Never let your right hand know what your left hand is doing.

Wisdom 🏆
I can relate so much. I got a new car earlier this year myself & literally as soon as I posted it not a month later i could feel the energy shift from certain people. Some people( true friends) remained the same but others stopped hitting me up and wanting to hangout with me. It’s disappointing that they acted that way towards me but on the flip side I’m glad God revealed to me who needs to stay in my ife and who needs to depart from my life! Thanks for the vid… great points!
That’s how it goes - good for you for realizing. Thank you for watching 😊
Valuing your privacy and what people
Don’t know won’t hurt them because of what you know
This has been the way I move since I became an executive director of a nonprofit. 99% of my social media content is events/programming that I'm hosting, collaborating with, or supporting. Absolutely no personal or family drama, and political posts are spare. There is so much peace when you stunt on 'em in silence, and make their jaws drop at your hard work. Don't say anything about your goals and plans until it's time. Hit the gas on 'em when they have no idea how you made big moves.
I love how you mentioned that you don’t have to say how humble you are & let your life be the living testimony of that! 🙌🏾 I’ve always asked “Are you really humble if you have to say it?”… This video is great! 💕
I’m so happy you caught that and resonated, love. Thank you so much for watching!
It’s like people who rant about how much they “hate drama”…. They’re almost ALWAYS the ones who start and thrive on it.
Especially in the age of social media where we feel obligated to update every minute of our lives, this is a welcome advice. Anyhoo to love in silence stay away from all social media !
Social media is trickyyyy… especially for the kids
I'm glad you made this video. I'm learning how to move in silence, because some people don't have your best interest. Thank you!
It’s very very important to be aware that not everyone wants the best for you and that is life. When you know better you don’t even take it personal - WE MOVE! Thank you for watching 🤗
Yep. I couldn't agree more.
Word!!
I am on the same journey, I realized I share too much and that’s not ok.
All about balance. Sometimes oversharing and over explaining ourselves point to another root cause
Beware of people who asks you personal questions about your life! Where you live, where you work, how's the family ect.
I’m actually going to do a video on this!
You must be mu spirit twin because this is exactly how I move. You have more peace in your life when you move in silence.
the peace is GREAT do you hear me? 👏🏾
My uncle still has this beautiful African tribal mask on his living room wall that looks just like her. Has those really strong facial features, hair and vibrant colors.
I identify a lot with this video…I do a lot of these things naturally. I usually never post on Instagram unless I’m going out, so naturally people think I’m always doing something fun, going to “pretty places”, or just always put together…when in reality I’m a homebody. Great video!
Yes! I so resonate with that. You’ve always seemed on the right track 💕
Sameeee
Why would you need to post anything, do you need validation from strangers?
Weird.

Definitely resonate with your video. Im 32 and nvr had instagram social media or any of that stuff. Most of my energy is just spent on doing things that make myself happy and not using too much energy to curate this image of myself to the world to prove I'm anything. I'm very protective on my own energy and privacy is such a valuable thing to have ...its helped me build my own confidence in who i am ...completely outside of the ego
You are not missing a thing and reading this comment inspired me to keep going on the limited personal social media life - thank you 😊
12:13- "Moving in silence involves humility." That's it right there ♡
That’s the ticket right there!
Being in quarantine helped many to go into true stealth mode. Now, y'all outside, but it's super easy to maintain when the folks who needed to be out so bad, are talking so loud to overcompensate, they don't even notice you've slipped away.
This is the one
Thanks for sharing this educational moment with us. Sometimes we make the mistake of announcing our next step thinking every one is going to celebrate your journey. That's not always the case.

This just confirmed the way I choose to move. Everyone feels like if you don't post it, it never happened & that far from factual. Quality over quantity is truly a lost art in itself.
I agree. Moving in silence preserves energy. 🌻
Yes it doessssss
Thank you for this video I love your energy just like mine. I cut just about alllll those talking heads and flying monkeys out of my life. @@EvieAswiti it helps to be silent. I was dumped but the good thing is that I had kept the whole thing silent while I watch what's going on. Eventually he dumped me and married someone else. Imagine the drama if I had advertised my relationship with him. Plus He is kinda of a public figure.
I believe the pain would have doubled. Some people say I am very secretive but I know where I am coming from and why I decided to keep my life private..

Ms. Lady, you are on target! God gave me this message months ago, as I move towards my dreams, silence and learning to love myself
has given me strength, peace, clarity and real insight into how others react to your silence and humility!
Amen, Katherine! thank you for your kind words
@@EvieAswiti Ms. Evie, thanks also, because humbleness is a big part of the silence. If you are silent as one talks, a certain mindfulness and insight steps in. The person gives you more feedback on a level you never saw when you talked with them before and did not listen to them in silence.
10 things to quit for all Strong Men:
1. Caring about what others think
2. Not believing in yourself
3. Not experimenting different ideas / solutions for problems (life&business)
4. Not prioritizing your health
5. Wasting your precious time
6. Wanting something (instead write a plan and work towards it)
7. Chasing meaningless relationships
8. Wasting or draining your energy from beating your meat 🥩
9. Wasting time by scrolling social media
10. Nailbiting/nailpicking habit for good (if you do it - consider stopping it as it makes you mentally weak + affects your confidence and all other areas of your life!)

Another reason why it's very important to move in silence, is the fact that when people know that you're seeking validation for your possessions, they will exploit you! In other words, they know that you're insecure, and you seek other people to validate you. Ultimately, they will pretend to care about you, just to gain access to the resources you have.

I just had this thought last nigh before I fell asleep. I’m on a journey to actualize my most authentic self. Thank you for sharing this powerful message.
You’re very welcome and best of luck on your journey. Enjoy the process!
Thank you for sharing.❤️🔥🔥 This reaffirms many of my core beliefs and values. It also reminds me of the scripture Matthew 7:6. It speaks about not casting your precious pearls before swine. Over the years, I’ve completely changed how I use social media. I value my privacy and I just don’t believe in giving people a free and open window-glimpse into my life. Curiosity motivates people more than compassion, and I like to be in control of what people know about me. I also think that some people are only meant to be in our lives for a season, so I’m not really into “following” people from my past when they have no relevance in my present or future. (Ex: high school classmates) But that’s just one opinion. I loved your message. You have a new subscriber.❤️
This was beautifully said. Thank you so much for resonating and God bless you. Taking your privacy seriously and protecting your peace is an art 🖼 and I’m the same way I’m not close with everyone from my past and that’s okay… I value the season we were in and I always will but we must move forward if the ppl don’t fit into the next chapter. I used to be a very quiet person that lacked no confidence in communicating appropriately and when I need to communicate something
But I was diagnosed with schizophrenia a couple of years ago and I don’t believe them
I’m a Christian and I’ve always believed the reality of the matter is that saying less is saying more
And protecting my energy
People now think I’m always hiding something or holding back rather than silent
It’s difficult but I think it’s important to keep an eye on the words I use and things I do Say to and around others and my energy
But thanks for this this was great 👍🏾

This came up in my feed and I'm so glad it did. Growing up, my mom taught me not to reveal all my cards and announce every move I made, which made people wonder about what we were doing! I'm going to watch this again, this is a great video, because every you said I've done something similar. I feel like too many people in my age range, basically my peers (i.e. 18 to 35) are really into posting everything they do, at all times, trying to keep up with the Joneses, keeping up with the status quo and compete with each other. That's not me at all. And one time I didn't post on social media for over a year at different periods of my life. It's definitely true I've leveled up by moving in silence. I come off as mysterious, but at the same time some of my peers wonder how i did it. I only mention things to people I trust, and I don't announce right away until the deed is done...Anywho, thanks for making this.

You're so right Evie, do not let anyone know your plans. I didn't want people to know my plans, but I had to tell them my plans because I want to become a police officer and to become a cop you must tell your whole family, co-workers, former co-workers, bosses, former bosses, neighbor's, former neighbors, and former classmates because the chief of police would have to do a background check on you if you want to become a police. However, I didn't want to let any of these people know what I was up to but a police officer told me if you want to be one of us you're going to have to let everyone know and you're going to have to go searching for your old elementary, middle, and high school friends. I told my friends that I want to become a cop and they will have to answer questions to a police about me how I acted in school or would I be a great cop? And they was like "You want to be a cop?"
This is my third time watching this video. I absolutely agree with the content and will always come back for a reminder.

32 year old male here, and my brain just within the last year has begun to tell me to think less and do more. My thoughts are no longer serving me as much as action.
Love this video. Let me share a small story of mine as well. I am appearing a very important examination, and I needed to refer previous year question papers. My friend wanted to help me but she had given them to another friend from our friend circle, so she told me to get it from her. That friend said sure but is now trying to find ways to avoid me. It's just long gone question papers. There's no guarantee that I would pass by referring those papers but this little issue taught me a big lesson. When people, even friends see you working on something, they don't wanna see you win. I will be more careful and guarded around my female friends.

You can and you will darling
Everything Evie's saying is FACT. There was a celebration event last weekend that I didn't go to and I'm glad because I've actually been too busy and was too exhausted to attend. Like Evie stated, it's good to create scarcity regarding your attendance at parties, get -togethers and events. You need to create that scarcity of you so people appreciate when you actually do show up. Moving in silence also protects your time.
hey now ☝🏾
I just came across your video and clicked because I found the title intriguing. I've never heard of this term before but realize its something I do now (when I was younger, I wa quite 'noisy'). Based on what you're saying, its for the appearance of mystery and having a busy and fulfilled life, yet its all orchestrated. It defeats the purpose as you're still centering others. I think its more meaningful and takes less energy when one centers themself. To make use of this new-to-me term, "move in silence" for you and for you ONLY. Protect yourself and your energy for you and not because you want to appear mysterious. I now move in silence but I do it for me. I don't even think of other folks. You might think its selfish but hey...less headache.
And that goes for family members also "please don't forget that part 😁
That is the one
Hello, my 1st time watching your video. I am a foodie. I love taking pictures of my food when I go out to eat. I also like my privacy and/or boundaries to be respected. I definitely post my food pics when I get home. ALWAYS! *Great piece of advice.* You look gorgeous by the way :)
Aw, welcome to my channel. Glad to have you here and thank you so much for watching. Thanks for the compliment and yes! Never post in real time with specific locations
I give this video and subject from a woman 9/10 so much wisdom in such a video you clearly have substance which is very rare on social media and sorry to say from our females
Thank you ☺️
I always say this ! “ STAY EXCLUSIVE”,like Beyoncé for example, she don’t show up to every award show! But when she do , she’s appreciated more!
Yep! Access low, standards high!
..like what party. I am at the party 😎
The humility you are talking about, doesn't look weak but it looks like only strong and secured have this kind of humility. Teach us more on humility - what is it? How it manifests? How to have humility? Etc.
@Evie Ojwang pls don't heart it alone but also make a video on this topic because I am looking forward to hearing wisdom from u.
Thank you.
omg love your observation thank you. I’ll definitely have that in my next up videos
You got it. I’ll make a video on this. 😊
@@EvieAswiti thank you Ms. Evie
you’re welcome ☺️
I clicked because I saw a gorgeous woman but the message was so on point and exactly what needed to hear. 🙏🏾
Yay! That makes me so happy
Thank you for this video.. I use to be very reserved growing up I don't share anything... being an adult I felt like I've been judged so I find myself explaining alot till I become the person who shares almost everything and it's depressing... even though I'm making moves feels like I'm not progressing
You’re very welcome - you should check out my boundaries video on my channel I recently uploaded
My story is same, I’m 57, am making progress, hang in there you will make it
"THE POP-OUT ONLY COUNTS WHEN YOUR NOT ALWAYS OUT".. BOOM.. DROPS THE MIC. THATS A WORD IN ITSELF!
This is the one ☝🏾
A woman after my own heart! Thank for this much needed discussion.
You’re so welcome, Maria! Thank you for watching and don’t forget to share this with whomever needs it 🤗
I was accused of being "lonely" by a cheeky (obnoxious) manager at work.
I told him, "That's what you think, because I don't come here and discuss my private life with YOU"
:-0
So glad I found you ❤ I’m in love with your vibe. It’s given poise and elegance 💋
Thank you so much! more to come 😉
