This keyboard is impressive for the price. Casio did a great job with this unit. It has a 17 track sequencer, solid styles, some great sounds, sound editing (which is not often found in arranger keyboards), mp3 and wav player, rhythm builder, phrase builder, and more. I have read it's not easy to use in terms of menu diving, but that's most likely due to the smaller screen; but if you can work around that I think Casio has likely sold a boat-load of these things. There are features in this unit that cross between arranger and synth workstation. I'm interested to see if they do an update to this board or come out with something like a Casio CT-X6000. For now, the CT-X5000 is not bad at all...in fact pretty darn good for the price with features you would normally find on arranger keyboards costing $1000 and up.
It's because their products can tend to be toy like and people want better feeling and sounding instruments. But, this one looks/sounds great for the price.
musictrackjp Do Casio CTX-5000 has good Organ Flutes and Organ Patches? I am planning to buy Yamaha PSR EW-410 but if Casio has better Piano & Organ patches I will switch to Casio.Thanks..
@@edisonmirandilla7017 Casio always has good organ sounds. Flute sounds great and natural. This keyboard has better sounds than the Yamaha PSR EW-410, because has the new AiX Sound Chip, while the Yamaha has an outdated one.
I've had one of these for almost two years, and I can say that is definitely very good for the price. That's it. It's not amazing, but you are also paying only $500, so it's very much worth it. When I got mine in November of 2019, I was coming from a $100 keyboard and was not a very good player, so something like this was mind-blowing. After months of teaching myself and being taught the technicalities and art of music on both keyboard/piano and various other instruments, I've started to feel limited by the keyboard, but I still appreciate all that I've learned and explored on it. So, if you're someone who wants to explore music and improve upon your abilities and don't have very deep pockets, than this keyboard is a great choice.
@@maccagrabme I'm currently thinking about getting a Yamaha MODX7 as an upgrade. I'd say the MODX series of keyboards or maybe the Roland FA series would be sensible upgrades. They are both a significant jump in price ($1,300-$2,000), and in quality, but I think they are a good step up from the CTX series. There are of course options that are cheaper, but they are, in my opinion, not worth upgrading to, since they are only somewhat better than the CTX series. I recommend researching as many keyboards as you can that may be suitable upgrades from the CTX-5000 and find ones you like. That's what I did.
He plays Bruno Mars without playing the song. Brilliant. I put Mr. Ujiie on autoplay and watch for hours. So much fun to watch him play so effortlessly.
This keyboard is impressive. It offers a multitude of features that you can't find on other keyboards without costing you an arm and leg. The sound is excellent, really authentic and the speakers are well made. No crackling and you can really hear those deep base tones you can't usually hear on other keyboards with built-in speakers. I'm very happy with this purchase. Great job Casio.
I got my first Casio at sixteen and my last one at Christmas, I'm sixty. The tech specs in my new MZ X500 are stunning, far surpassing anything I was expecting.
Here's what I would say to the detractors of Casio in general and this board in the demo. Perception doesn't always equate with reality. And affordability isn't always analogous to lower value or quality. This may not seem like the keyboard of the stars. But it could very well be the keyboard that is the maker of tomorrow's star 🎼🎶🎙🎹🕶😎
LiJohnnMusic Official Well here in France the CT-X800 is one hundred euros more expensive than the CT-X700 just for the additional pitch bend wheel and USB port. Actually the CT-X800 is a bit more expensive than the CT-X3000. They both have roughly the same price as the Yamaha PSR E463.
vbdx66 oh wow! really? the CTX800 is a little bit more expensive than the CTX3000? Please enlighten me on this one :) but yeah, the price difference of the CTX700 and CTX800 is unjust knowing that there are only two not-so-major differences haha
Mr Ujiie has just sold me this keyboard. I hope Casio give him commission! I am looking to upgrade from my old but still perfectly functioning CTK 811-EX. The sounds on this CTX 5000 are great!
4 years later how do you like it? How do the keys feel? That's my only concern before dropping $$ on this. Currently play a Roland FP10 and know it won't be as good
At long last sub_titles to this great players vids. Saw many vids advertised with subtitles, and no such subtitles appeared in the vids. So thanks for the subtitles
This keyboard sounds fantastic (especially the "breathy" instruments)! But it doesn't function as an audio interface. So you'd have to run it through a dedicated audio interface to record this great-sounding audio. The extra features over the CTX-3000 seem worth the price.
ct-x series has got a new sound engine that cannot be found on other lines. Although MZ series are professional arrangers, current MZ line is still using the old sound engine... If you want to get the best from both world, perhaps just wait for the launch of the new MZ line. I believe this new sound engine will find its way to MZ line!
It's great what you can have these days for less than 450$... It really doesn't sound bad at all for the price! (Yes, I know it's meant for home keyboard for hobbyist or as a "family piano")
I think that the relatively recent development of the AiX processor for the first time positions Casio as a credible challenge to Yamaha. And it's not that Casio has been deficient in quality. It's more about perception. Yamaha has been at it slightly longer than Casio. The two have been pitted against each other as far back as the 80s for the attention and the pocket books of the legions of casual musicians. The CTX-5000 is one of the recent additions to a line of affordable keyboards that are feature packed and almost overwhelming in the fidelity of sound production/reproduction. It will be interesting to see where this as well as the revived and redesigned Casiotone line show up.
Hi, could you tell me if the 310 built-in presets in the casio ctx 5000 can also be used if you create a new style or modify an existing style, in particular if you can use the chord progressions of the aforementioned presets
The Man makes any keyboard sound freakin the best there is...
The breathy air simulation of saxophone, flute and trumpets is enough to convince me to buy this model.

Came for the review. Mr Ugiie's playing is awesome 👍 and did this keyboard justice.
この製品のデモは良好です。 私はあなたがエレクトリックピアノを見せるために努力したことが好きです
Glad to see Casio get some love finally, I feel like its such an under appreciated brand compared to Yamaha or Roland.
Casio got a lot of heat because many of their sounds sounded "fake". This is a big improvement over their earlier offerings.

Casio Calculator ? :-). Casio's first keyboard was released in 1980. Bought my first one in 1983
My first was a VL tone vl1 smalest with calculator in 1983. Second MT400V in 1985, CZ 5000 in 1987, now ctk 3000 and 495 in stockroom
I'm waiting 4 the newest synth. I missed the XW g1 or p1
