      Most likely heat soaked. Starter might be getting to hot if it's close to the headers. I might start with that

    Hey what’s up bro how you doing I’m doing LS swapping my 87 Camaro third gym used to be a V6 I am looking for the fuse for the starter for the car to start to turn on and off is it a fuse or relay and if you know where the location is it

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  2 года назад

      I haven't personally messed with mine but from what I have found is it states it's located behind the drivers side kick panel and it is a relay.

    • @isaacgreen1599
      @isaacgreen1599 2 года назад

      OK I don’t have a relay right there behind that kick panel I think somebody like bypassed it or something but don’t know what the wires Color is for it because my car cranks over but I’m not getting power to my injectors or coil packs but I got all the interior lights and all that

  • @jesusdelavega2184
    @jesusdelavega2184 4 года назад +1

    You got rid of all the wires hooked up to the engine like the one for the throttle sensor,etc. except, like distributor,starter alternator.
    Sorry, im 19 year old trying to do my first swap i eliminated ac and heater, charcoal canister what other wiring would i eliminate if i swap it with a carbed 350sbc?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  4 года назад +2

      Yes indeed I got rid of alot. Just bc the old sbc doesn't require all those sensors. Of course you could keep you voltage, oil pressure, and temp sensors if you would like. I personally just installed aftermarket so I didn't need the originals either. Other then that you will need like your lighting wiring and fuel pump wiring if your still running the intank pump.

      Thank you I actually did my own custom panel from carbon fiber. Then mounted a GPS and fitech monitor on it. Then I have all sensor gauges in the center. Here is a video of the process. It wasn't complete in this video but it is now bill do an update soon 👍

    i pulled my wire harness recentlly and it is scary they got some really bad splices. bare copper everywhere i WAS gonna use it but its a mess and hardly anything was labled (bought car as a roller) im just goin with carb set up how hard do you think it would be to wire the stuff i do need to like a seperate fuse box?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  7 лет назад

      CoryCDS it really shouldnt be bad at all. for you i would start by removing all of the harness and either by a painless harness or make your own. the only thing you might want to keep from the old is all the lighting wiring unless you plan on rewiring the entire light system

    • @CoryCDS
      @CoryCDS 7 лет назад +1

      TonyTheTechnician yea im plannin on just pulling the computer but the only thing with that is it would cause my speedo gauge and stuff not to work so id have to deal with that

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  7 лет назад

      CoryCDS ya you would either have to find some way to make your gauges work again or go with an aftermarket gauge cluster and wire in all the new gauges

    Just out of curiosity Tony...Are you one of the student techs that the instructors have really taken under their wings so to speak? Teacher's pet? If so, absorbs as much as you can and don't take it for granted.

      @TonyTheTechnician  8 лет назад

      jarin wilson ya i guess you could say that which is awkward bc highschool was completely different hahaha. I have learned alot from my instructors and I believe even people who have been doing this for there entire life still learn something new almost every day. I am always open to new information and knowledge. thank you for watching and commenting

      For sure bro, I DO NOT know everything, if I did, this field would be boring. Electrical diagnostic and automatic transmissions is where it is at nowadays. I highly encourage you to specialize in something. Screw up and learn from it and you're welcome Tony. Ah and I almost forgot, Thank you for your service.

      jarin wilson ahh thank you that means alot. and ya i have heard it is best to find atleast 1 or 2 things your really good at and focus on those. well of course it is best to have knowledge in most all topics but really know your stuff on the parts that you really love. I will definitely try to figure out which areas I love most. thank you for your words and knowledge.
