Rest in peace JFK. One of the greatest leaders in history. We need another leader like him in this country.

America has NEVER been the same since the death of John F. Kennedy. In my opinion, JFK was the best President we had a chance to be greater than what we observed. I will never forget the day he was killed and the people who were involved in his death. John-Former USSS(1974-1977)FMD/WHD

    Greatest POTUS ever!!
And Bobby would have been even better (especially since he learned so much, and his eyes were opened in the years between this and 1968).

Kennedy is one of the Greatest Presidents we have ever had. The last true democrat and the last true leader of this nation. We could really use him right now to guide us to greatness once more.

And even he was elected through corruption and mob influence. His dad was an old rum runner from the "good old days" and promised the White House to the mob if his son got elected. Mayor Daley or Chicago and his gang of bandits made it happen. Yes, the dead DO cast votes from time to time...

This speech is pre-Vietnam (for J Q Public) and post Eisenhower (Tricky Dicks Sea Daddy). I memorized and presented President Lincolns 2nd Inaugural Speech in an 8th Grade Speech forum. The first time I heard this; I was inspired and struggled with his assassination. I truly idolized JFK...my Pentecostal Christian teacher hated Jackie (he was gay, I later found out). I'm not even White or Black or Gay. Why should I care? Maybe I should be angry for getting played!

Not quite. We had troops in Vietnam prior to this election. The were called 'advisors', but they were American troops.

Take off the rose tinted glasses. Within this speech are sown the seeds of the Vietnam War and knew it.He was a Cold Warrior to his bones who believed that limited nuclear war was a viable strategy.

Evil will not, must not triumph! we are, the good people, we are the one who must bear the burden of this twilight struggle.. nothing is more important than this!!! this is not a call to bear arms no arms we need not a call to battle not embattled we are but a call to voice a dissent a call to dispute and refute this current disgraceful administration yet a powerful dissent voiced in civil manner and under the rule of laws and directed to the highest institutions of this great republic!

I love this speech, although i feel he did not do a great job with Vietnam. It was his illusions of what America was that blinded his judgment in the conflict.

It's funny how the GOP wants to claim JFK as one of their own. SMH

@bluedave008 yeah he was a real democrat and our last great president. reagan is really overrated but i think he tried his best and truly wanted peace. clinton was a good president but had 2 many screw ups to be considered great. ghw bush was ok, bush jr was aweful and as of now obama is just above bush jr and below bush sr in my opinion. but its disgusting when the compare kennedy to obama, and im a big democrat. its also pathetic when he won the nobel peace prize for doing nothing.

People think of Kennedy as a great President. Remember that he was the one who started to get us seriously involved in Vietnam. The only positive thing that came out of his presidency was the desire to reach the moon.

J.F.K. had signed an order to pull our troops OUT of Vietnam not long before he was assassinated. Eisenhower sent the first 'military advisors' into Vietnam. There are quite a few positive things that came from his presidency, or would you prefer Soviet medium range nuclear missiles 90 miles south of Florida? J.F.K. also penned the Civil Rights Act that LBJ signed, and along with his brother Bobby, JFK pretty much put an end to organized crime.
