Thank you for this video . It’s inspiring to watch an experienced craftswoman sharing an age old skill . I hope they keep it alive and a proud part of their cultural heritage . I will try to copy her ! 😆🙏👍
i wish i knew how to dry my cattails as nicely as she does. mine just turn out in a blank green and even tho it does look nice too i'd want to make something from this nice yellow color
I wish that she had shown the entire process. Im guessing that the twist across the bottom is what held the initial fronds together to start the weave. Still pretty impressive.
I m Romanian, I really like that they posted this video about this hand weaving artisan, she is really impressive, not many are left that keep the traditional thing going. I came across another nice video, a young lady from UK living in the Lakes District near Scotland, she makes baskets from everything, it s really great and interesting. She is using various plants, such as dandelions tubes, corn husk, catttails, willow and tree peel, Irises, Narcissus and many others. Her shop is called FORAGED FIBERS.

okay so the fact that I don't get to all my cattails woven when they're green is not a problem. Maybe I should start trying to find a piece of junk that can act as a basket form.
Thank you, Ms. Arion for showing us weaving with cattails!
Я в восторге от просмотра. Вы Мастерица, рукодельница, художник и вообще талантище ❤

Very nice video, thoughtful and instruction is great ..a treasure
Im looking forward to doing a basket from cattails. I did a few baskets last year 1 out of willow branches and one from pine tree needles.

Our people are so talented!
Hard working woman! Beautiful basket, I'd love to learn how one on one.
I tried to make a basket weaving with news paper once. It's so very difficult! Lady congratulions by your experience and work!
Wonderful... Great skill...

I have been wondering about a form too. An old saucepan, especially without a handle, may work
Can I get information about some basketry designers?
That is a woman who works hard!
