      Definity should of been square base plates ,thicker guage metal and thicker safety pin being that's what supporting the weight. Seems pretty limited in lift height to less than double original space.

    • @gilbertwheeler160
      @gilbertwheeler160 2 месяца назад +14

      Where you are told to lift it ... when using a PINCH WELD JACK pinch weld jacks do not lift on the pinch weld they have a slot for the pinch weld to slide into it and the weight rests on the supports on either side ... with that said ... I don't use those due to how rockers become weak and will collapse dropping the vehicle and causing a lot of damage ... best to lift vehicles the proper way from a point that is securely sound and parallel to the ground

    Great idea my man. You don’t need larger plates. But maybe a 3rd leg that extends to the outside for stability?
    Like maybe the 3rd leg can fold from the middle of the jackstand once you jack it up and it’s out of the way of the jack. Kind of like a “T” shape once you fold out the 3rd leg.
    And to those who say the metal is too thin, let me remind you of how thin the metal is on those standard “2 ton, 3 ton” jack stands that everyone else sells. The only thick part of those is the support that extends up. And look at them closely how that 1 thick support is being supported underneath inside the jack stand. Those aren’t too safe either.

    Keep the jack under it ! And then support the jack with a stand to stop it lowering.

    I totally wouldn't trip over that in my garage since it will not be used 99% of the time I'm in my garage. I like the idea though, sort of reinventing the wheel but it has great potential.

    Hopefully, those are the actual lift points for the car!😮

    Notice how far the Jack has to come down. Other than that, this is brilliant.

    The only design changes for these stands thats needed is bigger square plates on the bottom to make it harder to tip sideways and the ability to make fhem a bit longer because i think the pinch welds on some cars are a little further away. I got a welder.... I'd probably just replace that bit if i had it. Otherwise i don't see any issues wirh using a pair of these. This would be great on some of the cars ive worked on which only have the pinch welds to lift the car and not enough space to fit a jack and place the stand.... I'm looking at you Audi....
