I've had saloon 535d F10 for 5 years now which ive also remapped, ive personally done 120k miles on it. Everything he has said here has been spot on. It thrives on long distance journeys, feels so comfortable and stable at autobahn speeds. 150mph is very very fast but in the 535d f10 it feels slow and feels the car has more to give. Its such a comfortable car & at this point I think the only car worthy to replace it is the current face lift of the 540i. No car can match the f10 535d honestly.
Artur M Power The X5 M50D had exactly the same fuel economy as my F10 M5 on long fast autobahn drives (1000 km with average speed of 130-135 kph, meaning cruising at 180+kph)
We've got a 2011 535d touring as well with same spec (save for the sunroof & stage 1) You absolutely nail what I experience driving this car, it's such a magnificent workhorse. A true combo of sportivity and luxury. Took it on a 3600 km roadtrip where I think it's at its best. We avaraged 7.1 liters. Deprecation is mainly due to high taxes and insurance I think, especially in Belgium. Awesome video, absolutely loved it! We've now only got 102k km so I think we'll keep it for quite some more years as the interior and exterior are quite timeless imho (thank you BMW) 😁
Yeah the comfort seats are great but the most important option is the Head-Up Display in my opinion. Makes driving (fast) so much easier as you never have to take your eyes of the road
just yesterday i've picked up my f11 and in wouldn't change it for anything. The power feels amazing, the comfort. There's absolutely nothing that can compare in this price.
I know it sounds daft, but putting aside Ferraris and Lamborghinis etc, the F11 535d has been my dream car for a number of years now, and I finally got mine a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely adore it.
I have an old Bmw e61 with a 3.0 biturbo 272 hp 560 nm engine and I appreciate this car for its good performance and low fuel consumption, these are cars designed to swallow kilometers ..., you can turn them up at a low cost.
We have a 535d as well, and we are going to sell it cause of a rear suspension problem which is going to cost around 4k€... But this car is an incredible pleasure, you can drive for hours without feeling tired or uncomfortable, this engine is a masterpiece and as you said we've enjoyed every kilometers on board. Thank you for this review, and I agree with you : this car will have a special place in my heart ❤️
Been driving a F11 535D 2016 for the last 4 years and just loves it. It has a lot of options too, but no tuning was done. The best car I ever driven. Had a few issues though: - read air suspension blew on both sides (think this is a known weakness of the F11 model) - oil check not working properly Otherwise it has been running flawlessly for 4 years and 150.000 km with a total of 225.000 km. But sadly it ends now and I will change to an EV end of the year, most likely an I5, so it not all bad :-)
you are spot on, i own a f11 535d rwd, adaptive dampers with comfort plus option, integral active steering with the rear wheels turning, i love the car.....i just love it, so comfortable , but it can be sporty too with the press of a button....from comfort plus to sport plus....
You’ve got the wrong specs in the lower left corner 😄 I guess it’s no golf , seems like a great car tho and reliability with a BMW ? that’s kinda rare , autobahn machines are really good cars 😄👍🏻 there is a criteria that I apply on a car that I’m interested to buy and that is that it has to be somewhat decent on the autobahn, it should at least go 200kmh comfortably and handle stable through corners and once a car delivers that it instantly deserves the obligatory clap on the dashboard 😄
All BMW in line 6 engines are bullet proof, but their diesel versions are in a class all their own. There is no other diesel performance car that runs better or faster IMO. They’re super reliable and super torquey which makes them super fun, different, but comparable to an M3. My personal 335d sedan/saloon M-sport isn’t stock either and also featured performance suspension and M3 control arms adding to the handling performance making it more M3 like than an actual M3. The torque is really what makes a twin turbo diesel fun. 275kph+ is not out of the question with the engine and transmission tunes. In America we have a very limited selection of diesel BMWs compared to Europe missing out on manual transmissions and AWD before 2012. They are just so choice out of the box, but really special when modified by the right people.
You would think this guy owns a M3 or something with the amount of fast cars he drives. Just shows that practicality is a major factor in deciding which car to have as a daily.
We literally just bought a M550d Touring an hour ago, this is perfect timing! This 535d has the same engine as our 435d and the M550d has an additional turbocharger and 70hp more than the 35! You should definitely consider a M550d, it is one hell of a car and it is noticeably faster than the 35's.

I can only recommend driver assistance and safety features if I would have to choose against looks. Love the costs section of the video, many people do not realize what it costs to enjoy such a car. Totally worth it!
I also have 535d Touring 2010 with 280k km and stage 1 for 350HP. I bought the car for 9100 eur last year with a broken engine. Had to immidietly spend 4400 eur on new injectors/intake+EGR regeneration/electronics/replace all fluids. After that 1600 eur on timing chain replacement. This year small turbo failed mechanically and electrically, regeneration cost 750 eur. Also this year I spent 1600 eur on rod bearings because they started to rattle. 1 rod bearing looked like an egg. I also will have to fix the rear EDC suspension soon. That will be another 1600 eur.

Nice to hear good things about the reliability of this car !!! About Komfortsitze, absolutely the best, I totally agree !!! About M-Packet sport suspension setting being to hard ( with whatever tires ), very good to hear that the adaptive can be actually comfortable. There’s one thing I would like to ask. In your car there’s the sport version of the ZF gearbox. What’s actually the difference between both gearboxes Bmw offers? I guess the sport one is faster shifting, but as they are both similar (torque converter’s ZF ) are they both same reliable? I’ve had a 2004 e46 330d with M packet ( done 150.000 km ), a 2004 e53 3.0d X5 with M packet ( done 25.000 km ) and a 2009 e91 335i with M packet and a manual gearbox ( done 15.000 km ) . I actually drive a T6 Multivan due to family matters. As soon as my kids are a bit bigger, I will buy for sure a BMW and even though I don’t like Diesel, the in-line 6 Diesel engine ( I‘ve only had single turbo versions ) in combination with the Auto Gearbox have completely made me fall in love and I really miss them. Sporty and comfortable at the same time. Economical and reliable. Just amazing combination. Im not sure yet if I’ll go for a 5 series Touring or an X5. About tyres, did you mount 4 same tyres in different sized Alloys ( aren’t rear alloys wider ? ) ? In my opinion, M Packet BMW‘s work at they’re best in the motorway with 17/18 alloys and 4 corners same width of alloy and tyre. Great car !!! Great review !!!
I have a 2014 F10 520d....I thinking about a newer C class with a similar engine.....however.....I thinking maybe similar age to what I already have 535d, sounds like a lot of fun and I love my F10.
I have a F11 and the steering is horrible. In the corners it's fine but it can't old a straight line for two seconds. It's made for 200 plus with the elbow against the glass but mine feels very unstable on the highway. BMW 'specialist told me I had he wrong tires (michelin PS 4 non run flat) recommended runflat so I got those. That didn't solve it. New "draagarmen" . still no cigar. Turns out I'm not the only one complaining about koers instabiliteit. There's a review on a 520D on autoweek with multpiple people having the same issue in the comments. One says to get a modified steering rack. I allready spent enough trying to fix this problem. Thinking about getting an A6 allroad BiTDI now. Really dissapointed.
I have one of these, great cars, not so well suited to back roads but a great cruiser as stated. I’m looking forwards to mapping mine, I’d hope for closer to 400hp though, 750+Nm hopefully
@AutoTopNL I have e91 335 with same colors and light brown leather/piano vinyl Individual interior from Nederland and this is best car what I've driven!

It's understandable when you have to get rid of a car you had good care of it, and also a good relationship with it and and travel thousands of kilometers and still perfect...
Anyone else from the UK freaked out a bit that the famous "Autobahn" looks very similar to a typical UK dual carriageway? I expected that the Autobahn was at least 3 wide lanes and had some sort of minimum speed in each lane. But the speed differential between just two lanes seems very high to me. Just today I pulled out to overtake two cars and the one in front of me decided to also overtake without looking in his mirrors. Fortunately I anticipated his mistake and avoided a collision but the closing speed was a fraction of what we can see in this video.
Love the BMW F11, nice car you have and great review. F11 is the most beautiful wagon. Extremely comfortable in high speed. I drive a F11 530dTx stage 1 tuned with lifted limiter to 285km/h. So nice, stable and quiet driving + 260km/h on GPS. Have a vid pounding away autobahn in the night :). How is your car compared to the tuned F11 M550d you drove?
Always get the M driving wheel! The car misses the "Abstandstempomat" autopilot with automatic distance or something like that, Also a cool feature for the trunk: aluminium bars where you can hook in stuff. The cameras for surroundview are also a VERY nice feature. The harman kardon system is also a must have. The iDrive system has a touch controller knob available. The rear mirror shows you don't have the big alarm package, there would be 3 buttons below it. Also "Integralaktivlenkung" - you would love it if you have it. And I think you don't have heated backseats/ 4 zone climate control. Your family would love it. You miss a lot of features a nice 5xx should have. (owning a 2016 F11 530d luxury line with nearly everything in it)
My dad’s daily driver is a 2015 F11 520d, it’s wonderful to drive but for a family of 4 with 2 adult children and where 3/4 of the family is over 180cm tall the space for the passengers is a bit too tight, otherwise it’s a great car and the fuel economy is about 4l/100km

330eur/mo for maintenance? Wow... what’s been involved here?
“What’s been involved here” ? Ce naiba vrei sa zici? Te faci de ras .
Nu vorbi o limba care nu o sti.
@@TheRossa21 ca bine zici. Pe care nu o stii.
Thats insane

AutoTopNL Greetings from Poland.
17:24, by saying it out loud you realised for the first time how badly the depreciation sucks.
I just switched from ventilated to non-ventilated Seats.
They are so much more comfortable without the fans.
@Ching Chong not only the software, it has an suplemantary oil pump....
As a person living in Finland, I appreciate that you pronounced SAUNA correctly!
10min: talking about his car. The rest of the time: trying to get the flies out of his car
I have a 2014 F10 520d....I thinking about a newer C class with a similar engine.....however.....I thinking maybe similar age to what I already have 535d, sounds like a lot of fun and I love my F10.
Max you my favourite RUclipsr so far. When ever need to find information about any car. I just search in your channel. Best pov blogs
The m550d f11 is incredible too we have one
Me too did you tune it?
don maka yes 450hp
@@martinandreas6486 stage 1? I have 430hp
I did Not know how the the Golf Looks like 😂😂
Good video as always Max, Ive have the f10 530d new since 2011, it keeps going to different members of the family, but I’ll never sell, I may also give it a remap when it gets back to me
If you look for another car, try getting it in pearl white 🤩 I have an old classic Nissan in pearl white and it's just looks amazing on it!
Ive got the f10 535d saloon. Love it.

I love your BMW F11 5 series😍😍👍👍
I drive a f31 335xd with stage 1... great engine
Carly was good when they called themselves "BMWhat", after that, they began wanting money to unlock features that previously were free. I am glad i still have the original APK.
The 535d F10 Saphirschwarz Cinnamon brown Leather i owned was the best Car i ever had. I regret that i selled it for a 550i.
"It just took the beating and went with it" - this has to be one of the greatest motoring journalist quotes of all time 😂😂😂🤝🏽🤝🏽🤝🏽
Audi A8 4.2 TDI, V8 , that is Also a very nice diesel car , with a tune it goes crazy. Almost 300 kmh with a tune .
It's understandable when you have to get rid of a car you had good care of it, and also a good relationship with it and and travel thousands of kilometers and still perfect...
Great to see that Max drive a BMW ^^ Greetings from a M135i
The very best car channel on the whole YT.
Tering snelle Beemer, maar ook beste prijs per maand uiteindelijk.
Goed filmpje en een fantastisch apparaat 👊
I used to have f10 and f11, now I own g31 540d, but I still think that f11 is a better-looking car.
Now thats a beautiful BMW!
Fully agree, a great car.
Had previous 535d for 7 years, and current already 5 years.
But next might be i4
Nice review!
Never ever buy a volkswagen
I own 320d and want to upgrade for 5 series with 3l engine, such awesome car
Make sure to check if you like the 5 suspension. Standard is super soft compared to 3 series M-sport and the car is very floaty.
5 séries is a big car. Is not as keen as the 3 series. I have had 330d and was the best car I have a had. 5 series is comfort autobahn.
Car ownership is crazy expensive in Europe wow! No wonder many people choose to put around in 1L city cars.
I've been waiting for this video for sooooo long
Amazing car
I'm getting one station wagon next year
I love this car I can’t wait to put on the Michelin ps5
What a coincidence that I'm looking to buy this car!
Anyone with such roof should stick UV blocking mirror. Like 60 or 80% UV just Perfect 👌
@Max: Did you ever try XHP transmission software? Highly recommended on the older 6 Speed (E9x) and also 8 Speed. No, this is not a sponsored comment!
The new 550d touring is perfect car for you 😍
Love the BMW F11, nice car you have and great review. How is your car compared to the tuned F11 M550d you drove?
f31 is better
My dad is 71 years old with 530d stage 1 remap. He always comments how easy the rear wheels spin lol
Always get the M driving wheel!
The car misses the "Abstandstempomat" autopilot with automatic distance or something like that,
Also a cool feature for the trunk: aluminium bars where you can hook in stuff.
(owning a 2016 F11 530d luxury line with nearly everything in it)
Can you review the M340d please 🙏🙏🙏🔥
Best 5 series ever!!!!
Bro, thank you soo much for this video, i am looking to buy one and you have helped me a lott, now i know for what im looking for 😉
My dad’s daily driver is a 2015 F11 520d, it’s wonderful to drive but for a family of 4 with 2 adult children and where 3/4 of the family is over 180cm tall the space for the passengers is a bit too tight, otherwise it’s a great car and the fuel economy is about 4l/100km
BMW ❤️
Amazing cruiser what a car.
Prima auto als de distributie ketting niet breekt. Bij mij helaas wel het geval bij 170k. BMW geeft niet thuis dus gewoon even 13k aftikken voor een gereviseerde motor.
Looking forward seeing an e36 M3 review 🥵 i hope so much that you will do it some time in the future! Cheers
F10 loooks better than G30
Dream daily driver
That is THE BEST 5 series chassis next to the e39
one of the best car ever.
My brothers 530i e60 was 12l/100km
BMW-greetings from Sweden, Max. ;)
my dads gonna get one soon but as a saloon, also getting custom angel lights and new exhaust
I have 535d....i like it very much
