    The reason why that area is there, where the branding is, is so that the pocket clip doesn’t rip your pants when drawing the knife. There’s a smooth surface under the pocket clip for your pants. It’s on both sides because they have left handed clips, and it’s 100 percent ambidextrous.

    I have the sharks foot and I love it. It's a great way to get the shark lock without the price and availability issue with the 20. I will get a 20 one day but for now the 20.5 fills the void. Great view 👍 ps did they get pens in yet 😆🤣

    Hey what’s up bro? I think I saw you in another video and definitely a few others but the one that stands out is I think you and your brother were at the last knife show and he bought a Koenig arius for a geeber or $900 and he was done, L O L. Classic. yeah I’m hoping the hype is real I just ordered one of these from knife center in red because it was $125 in 12 December 2022. And the scales were 75 and backspace it was another hundred so $ 225 In total if it goes together good and I like it. If the steel is anything like Kobe or cold steel I will be very happy

    manix 2 is $125 with g-10 handles and s30v blade. the hype is real with this knife. lots of knives in the $150-$200 price point. the 20.5 is high on my list but i can’t justify the price. spend a little more and get a giant mouse ace grand with elmax and micarta scales. i feel demko didn’t make a big order driving the price up on what should be a $90 knife. also the branding is hideous.

    I want one of these, but the Aus10A kinda took my finger off the trigger so to speak, is it better or worse than like S30V? I see AUS and think it's a budget steel like AUS8.

      Worse edge retention than s30v, similar to 440c/154cm. Great budget steel imo, will it retain an edge forever like k390, m390, 20cv etc. No but it will take a good edge and if it begins to dull, a strop or light touch up and you're back in action. You're not going to be sitting there for an hour or two sharpening to get it razor sharp. There are definitely better knives out there for similar or even less money tbh, you're paying for the Demko name and shark lock. Twosun knives have knives at similar and cheaper prices with better materials and such but I really enjoy this knife. Very fidgety and is a nice size for an EDC but has that super strong shark lock that will not fail.
      Tldr: are there better knives for the price? Yes. Is this knife worth it imo? Absolutely.

    this thing cost $250 here in our country and is sold out once its released here... its a fantastic knive and i own one and did an unboxing in my channel... well the cons is that for me is the shark lock fin really hurts my index finger when fidgetting it for a short period of time... unlike others that you can fidget all day no hurting... i also dont like the scales.. once flytanium releases one... will definitely change it... sometime spydie flicking the knife is a failure.. thumb flicking no problem... so far those are my cons...

    With so many better steel options, not understanding the use of AUS10-A unless I’m missing something. Not impressed with the handle materials either. Way better choices with higher end materials readily available for similar price.

    • @FriedPi-mc5yt

      AUS-10A is comparable to 154CM. People buy knives with 154CM all day long for $150-$200. AUS-10A is also used on high end kitchen knives. It’s pretty easy to sharpen and holds an edge as well as any other mid range steel.
      The reason for the price is Demko is just starting out with mass production. He hasn’t had 30 years to build his business up to the point of where Cold Steel, Spyderco and others are at. He’s only able to order small runs of his knives at one time. So these are like Spyderco Sprint Run knives which are always more expensive than the regular run of knives. A Sprint Run Spyderco Delica always costs more than a standard Spyderco Delica.

      @@FriedPi-mc5yt 154cm for 150-200 is only common on emerson knives as far as i know.
      on the other hand you can get 154cm on chinese budget folders for $60-80 and i have to say that i don't like aus10 as much as 154, because the corrosion resistance just isn't that good and the toughness is also not much better than 154.

    • @FriedPi-mc5yt
      @FriedPi-mc5yt 2 года назад

      @@RUclips-Censorship-Police Pro-Tech has used 154CM on their knives for awhile. And Pro-Tech isn’t known for making budget friendly knives. As far as corrosion resistance. I stated that high end kitchen knives often use AUS 10A. It’s important for kitchen knives to be corrosion resistant because a kitchen knife is being used to cut things like lemons and tomatoes that are acidic. A kitchen knife also has to be pretty tough for cutting in between bones, like ribs and chicken. If 154CM was so much better than AUS 10A at corrosion resistance, I’m sure knife companies would be making their knives out of 154CM instead of AUS 10A. Regardless, AUS 10A performs as well 154CM in cut tests and offers corrosion resistance that is good enough that expensive chef’s kitchen knives are made from it rather than 154CM. I suggest you look up the RUclipsrs Outpost 76 and Cedric and Ada Gear and Outdoors and see what they had to say about knives made with AUS10 A.

      then maybe it's the stonewash-finish (which the ad20.5 has too) because literally every cold steel (same factory & same heat treat) started to rust.
      i also carry 1095 carbon steel knives for edc and they have zero rust issues, it really is aus10 which has rust problems.
      i'm also not the only one with this problem, i found threads about aus10 rusting too easy on a few forums.
      in terms of edge retention they seem to be even though, but 154cm is still more expensive than aus10 i think.

    • @FriedPi-mc5yt
      @FriedPi-mc5yt 2 года назад

      @@RUclips-Censorship-Police I’ve got all the Cold Steel Voyager XL knives versions (except the drop point) and many other Cold Steel knives that use AUS 10A. I work in the construction trades. So many of my knives have ridden sweat soaked in my pocket for days during the spring, summer and fall. None of my knives have a problem with corrosion. I carried a carbon steel Case stockman and it would rust. Now I’m not saying the Cold Steel Voyagers didn’t discolor or stain. Because stainless will discolor or stain. It’s *stain less* not *stain proof*. Even LC200N will discolor and stain. I personally would take claims of AUS 10A corrosion (rusting) with a grain of salt. Especially on an anonymous forum. If you don’t have a knife with AUS 10A, I suggest you buy one and put it through some use. You can always gift it to a friend after you’re done with it or keep it in your collection. There are a lot of “Steel Snobs” out there that will crap all over a knife steel just because it’s not the latest and greatest super steel that will cut a battleship in two with one pass and never need to be sharpened in the owners lifetime. I’m not in the habit of chasing the “God Steel”. Though many people are. I mostly buy knives with steels that have a proven track record of providing good toughness along with good edge retention. AUS 10A accomplishes both those goals for me. I gravitate towards knives with larger blades too. So I naturally look to Cold Steel. Though I have Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, CRKT, H&K, Pro-Tech, Boker and many others. I’ve been very happy with the performance of my AUS 10A knives.

    I hear arguments all the time such as - Chris Reeve is too expensive with S35 or S45 and I frequently comment back on how that’s not really true BUT in this case, the Demko’s are overpriced. Plastic and Aus10 or D2 for $150 is just crazy and 3V for up to $375 is also crazy which is why I think these knives are so easy to get. Conversely for CRK, at least S35 and S45 are extremely well rounded - not the best in any area but very good in all areas + you get free spa services which means a new knife for decades. The Demko is an awesome idea wrapped up in just bad or very compromised materials - 3V is terrible with edge retention and corrosion resistance - this is why you can go buy any Demko 20.5 right now, they are just sitting there because the price is just a bit too high.

    Great video, Bro. I just got the AD20.5. And, I have a hot spot on mine. It's the Shark Fin. The jimping on it is way too aggressive and it causes me pain to unlock the blade due to the aggressive jimping on the Lock Slide or Shark Fin. Do you have the same issue? I haven't heard anybody else mention it. I am wondering if I received one that's different from everyone else's? Other than that and the materials, I absolutely luv it; I am at work with it in my pocket right now... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
