Im glad that you have a passenger limit. My transit authority doesnt have one. Makes me nervous during a pandemic. One time I had 70 people on a 60 footer. Not a lot of room to spread out. Stay safe out there.
That’s crazy!! Stay as safe as possible!! We are definitely facing some challenges right now in this industry. Nobody on the corporate side would want to be on a bus that full..but they are willing to throw the drivers out there...
Maybe a low floor 60' footer, most high floor 40' footers before ADA became law were 53 passenger coaches, when ADA required wheelchair lifts they were 44 passengers, now with ADA low floor it's 38 passengers seated that's a loss of 15 seats on a standard 40 foot coach.
I want people to also think about school bus monitors who keep kids safe, and help the bus drivers concentrate on doing their jobs, driving their routes, and reducing their stress as much as possible so that kids can focus on their learning, and so that families can stay together.

I had 2 drug addicts(1 male, 1 female) earlier beg for a free ride. I let them on. The female is a regular and I now know who the guy is that she’s always arguing with on the phone when she rides by herself. This is almost on a daily basis. The only reason why I even let them ride is because they were both carrying 5-7 grocery bags and I’m not going to let their food spoil by declining them a ride, that plus I knew their stop where to get off was only 15 minutes into the outbound route. Just as I leave downtown and enter a main highway where I need to be extremely cautious of speeding, oncoming traffic, the male and female begin arguing extremely loud. I tried yelling back and asked them to keep it down. They ignored me and the woman even swore at me. When they both ran out of breath I warned them. Not even 30 seconds later, she begins punching him because he “dropped their crack” all over the floor of the bus. Now she’s freaking out at the tops of her lungs picking up pieces of crack cocaine. I knew that out transit police and supervisors were handling an accident so I knew that requesting to have them removed was going to take longer than it would to just drop them off. I asked all of the other passengers to please stay away from them and apologized. I drove a little faster than normal to get them to where they needed to go. They began punching and choking each other as they were exiting. Then I had to take my bus back to the garage to get a new one because the bus was contaminated with drugs all over the floor and if a small child boarded my bus and picked it up that could be a serious situation. There goes my layover(break) so I had to eat vending machine snacks instead of hitting up Wendy’s like I planned. Ah the life of a bus driver. Keep in mind that this was my first trip of the day. An easy job……. The nerve of some people lol.
I start my training in 2 weeks and came across your videos and there’s more to this then I thought….. do buses have turn to turn signal (gps) or is it by paper??

Do you have to go to uni to be bus driver?
just subbed i love this bro from a pro athlete and bus driver keep it up also you should talk about health we are having to many drivers not taking care of them selves not realizing this job decays our bodys and to avoid that we need to find something to do thats fun but has a work out in it no one like paintball like me but its got me in great shape at 48 years old also do you have a i.g me and my wife dont have facebook to childish for us with the job we have
Thanks bro!! And yes I’m currently on a weight loss journey so I’m thinking about taking everyone along with me and encourage other drivers to take our health seriously! A lot of non bus drivers don’t understand how easy it is to gain weight in this profession! I will definitely deal with the health aspects in the near future! Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!
@@BusDriverLife yeah bro i play pro paintball and it made me realize that we bus drivers can use all kind of weight loss remedies but we must workout along with it I hate the gym but I found paintball years ago and went pro ever since and I've lost a lot of weight because of all the running ducking diving it's crazy so I tell people if they don't like the gym find something they like to do that consists of tremendous exercise something they look forward to and the results will be great in the end
@@didithurtpaintball That’s great advice!!! I will keep that in mind! Gyms just opened back up in California so I’m back at it..but I’ll definitely find a fun activity that’s also a good workout to participate in!
@@BusDriverLife me and wifey drive in the bay area oakland Alameda county
You got any other social media ?
Yes I'm of Instagram as well as FaceBook...Bus Driver Life
Aye Keywan.... do you sit Above or Below the steering wheel? I like to be above, I have to see above the bumper.... If you know, you know...
I’m right in between. I can’t sit too high because I’m already tall but I definitely can’t sit low..that’s just uncomfortable!
How does the company feel about your vlogs?
They have a social media policy so I make sure that I abide by that. I don’t mention the company name and all opinions are my own and not theirs so it’s all good!
Do you have any videos of you driving?
Currently I don’t..but if anyone ever films me and allows me to use their footage, I’ll definitely post it.
@@BusDriverLife cool man, I like your videos though. Right now I’m a school bus driver and I’m thinking about being a transit bus driver
@@ChrisG1104 That’s cool..I was a school bus driver for 8 years. I’m actually gonna do a few school bus videos showing what they deal with kids and parents.
@@BusDriverLife Yeah that’d be good. A lot of people don’t actually know what we deal with a lot of the times.
What’s the pay rate I got my interview tommorow
I hope everything goes well!! I don’t really discuss extremely specific things to the company on this channel...sorry about that!! They can and will give you all of that info though for sure!
When im older, i am planning on driving buses in New York City. Why did you choose to drive buses, do you think that i should drive buses?
Yes, im tryin to do the exact same
If you’re interested in driving a bus you should give it try! It’s not for everyone but it may be perfect for you!
I like to do stuff that involves my phone lol
Like watch your RUclips videos
We are one of the essentials groups of workers , and we still can’t get respect.
That’s so true!
Hahahahaha. You’re funny. What does your district think of you making these videos?
I’m in accordance with the social media policy they have so I’m good. As long as it’s clear that everything is my personal opinion and not theirs.
@@BusDriverLife I did notice that you don’t mention management in your videos. Hahahahaha. Smart. I used to take videos WHILE DRIVING my bus back before there were rules against it.
@@PortlandsTransport it’s also easy to look up and know what the management or I should say the name of the bus system
With all the switches and buttons...why are they labeled with text and not symbols? Is this an American thing? Because in Europe i haven't seen a single bus that had text instead of symbols. I would expect this is because of ease of use, but i would prefer symbols...
Are you a rapid transit driver?
What are your thoughts about Mussolini in the White House blocking the CDC from requiring masks on Public transportation? Get out and vote folks!!!!!!
R N I saw that recently...definitely crazy!!!
