@@sirfitz8125 Apart from other diamonds and a very select few synthetic materials, yes they are. While they can still be broken, they are very sturdy and would require A LOT of directed force to shatter. Watch some videos where people hydraulic press diamonds, they don't break easily. This is quite useful when working with diamonds because you don't have to worry much about doing any damage to the diamond(s).

@@sirfitz8125 you’re almost completely wrong. Diamonds are the hardest natural thing in the universe as far as we know. The only harder materials we’ve theorized or made are special ceramics that are very difficult to produce. The reason diamond shatters when you hit it with a hammer is because it is incredibly brittle, meaning it can’t absorb much energy and it’s very rigid unlike for example steel or rubber. There is still no metal that can scratch diamond though, it’s just too hard. That’s like trying to scratch glass with a piece of paper.

This ring turned out so gorgeous. Would have loved to see it in a setting without the halo. Beautiful either way!

After all the exquisite craftsmanship, I experienced a similar emotion when I viewed the finished Ring. The overload of small diamonds detract from the crystalline clarity and beauty of the D flawless stone...it's an individual choice.....clients are clients!

Opened my eyes a bit on this one. Ive been making individual baskets unlike how you cut the shank to solder your prongs. Being self taught you are unknowingly one of my gurus. Appreciate it.

Many years ago I was fortunate to have a 1.18 step cut, emerald cut diamond ring. It was D color and VVS1 clarity, cut perfect. It was gorgeous. I never received any comments about it let alone a compliment. It seems everyone thought it was fake costume jewelry.
