Fan-made video of Nightwish playing Ghost Love Score with two vocals, Tarja Turunen's and Floor Jansen's. I just put two audio tracks on top of each other. I can't believe how well it came out without additional editing. The left video is from End of an Era concert in Helsinki, the right video is from Buenos Aires concert in 2012.
Please no discussion who is better, just enjoy the vocals of these two great singers.

People, why are you comparing water to fire and argue which is better? The magic Tarja gives the song, or the passion Floor puts in it? I don't care, I love both.
Just enjoy the versions that two of the most significant singers in sympho metal give to you.

Both of these ladies are phenomenal, and hearing them together is simply magical. I love how both of them have their own way of bringing life to the song, and in each version, you hear a different emotion. With Tarja's you can truly hear the intense sorrow and longing in her deep, beautiful voice. It really hits something deep in my heart. With Floor's, you hear the more passionate side. You can feel the mix of sadness and anger, and that ending, wow. Blows me away every time.
In my opinion, this, right here, is the best version of Ghost Love Score. You can feel the different emotions with both interpretations, and that creates a sort of wholeness to the song. Both versions are fantastic, but together, it blows my mind.

Funny that Tarja already left the stage while Floor was just about to sing her (selfmade and awesome) signature notes of the song. Quite the contrast :)
Sidenote: The fact you could mix these two performances together shows Nightwish's drummer is tight as hell, right on the clicktrack.
I agree, the drummer got to have a perfect timing. But it's important to say that due to the massive use of sequencers, he (Jukka) has to play by the click track

Ofcourse he plays to a clicktrack. Even I play to a clicktrack, while we use no backing track in Selfmachine :) It's just to tighten everything up and keep it and steady live. We choose the tempo of ours songs very carefully by the single BPM, so live we don't want to be 5% off either.
But even when considering he plays with a clicktrack, still damn tight.

I always thought that this song was made for Tarja, but hearing this version with Floor a couple of times, they both have the voice for it. No doubt about it that Floor put's her everything in it and makes it a powerful song, and Tarja just sings it effortlessly as if it is an easy song for her. Tried it myself and I'm nowhere near both of them, so I give both of them props and making it an absolute pleasure to listen to both of them. Now I really want them to actually sing live together!
Putting aside the her vs her bullshit for a second, I have listened to most of the Tarja and Floor "duet" videos and did anyone notice how good it sounds when soprano Metal and Classical are used in harmony? Anyone know any bands that have a classical soprano and a balls-to-the-wall metal queen that share vocal duties?

To many of those who have commented: it is not a competition! When two singers have beautiful but different voices, one does not have to be better than the other... they both contribute their own beauty to the song, together they make it more beautiful than either of them can alone.
Totalmente de acuerdo contigo amigo. Ambas son maravillosas. Cada una aporta a la canción su estilo. No tiene porqué ser una mejor que otra. No tendré la gran suerte de oírlas juntas en un escenario pero sería mi gran sueño porque me encantan las dos.

muy bonita la voz de floor, interpreta está canción a su modo y es bueno, pero en definitiva me quedo con la hermosa voz y elegancia de tarja hay una hermosa delicadeza en Tarja y en esta canción pfffff de verdad que me transmite ese sentimiento de la letra.

Floor has a good and beautiful voice, you can't deny it if you listen to her perform the band's songs. The birth of the band is already historic in itself and once an incredible combination of Sara's combination of two musics. It bit and hit the crowd like carbon monoxide. When you listen to Tarja's and Floor's voice in a duet like this, you can only say that the original wins and Tarja's voice is so clear and pure. In any case, I don't want to underestimate Floor, because his voice again has his own gritty tone, which in a way fits the band in a different way. However, if we think about the original idea of the birth of the band, Tarja fulfills those criteria in a completely different way. In my opinion, there are two different bands here, if you compare the original and the current one, but each definitely has its own subscription and fan base. I understand well the supporters of the three different soloists and I think they each have the right to their own opinion. I personally think Tarja is the best, but this is just my opinion and every supporter's opinion is equally important. My opinion is only my own and the opinion of every supporter of a different vocalist is equally important.

Tarja and Floor, both world class singers ...
and it's hard to imagine the metal scene without them. Tarja more in the direction of operetta singing and Floor ... She can and does both operetta and rock. Floor has definitely the bigger "range" in her voice. I think with this piece Floor has immortalized herself in all hearts of Nightwish fans. Perfectly realized and even improved. The special highlight at the end of Ghost Love Score always gives me goosebumps.

Floor, ya hizo suya esta cancion es perfecta, siempre he detestado el vibrato de tarja y sus graves, es el cielo escuchar esta cancion por Floor

Debo decirte que en los primero tiempos que escuche Nigtwhish me encantaba la música, y la voz de Tarja me parecía encantadora , pero con el tiempo dije.. Bueeee dame algo mas Tarja basta de tanta opera, esta música merece mas que solo opera.. y me canse de escuchar a la banda por ese motivo, luego vino Anette y bueno nada, duro menos que un pedo en el agua mi pasión... Tiempo después entre a recordar algún video en vivo de Nigthwish y puse el de Wacken .. y en ese momento que comenzó dije..hey pero esa no es la increíble cantante de After Forever ??.. omg siiiiii....al fin una cantante a la altura de la banda..al fin alguien que le va a dar potencia y versatilidad .... ese dia que me entere que Floor Jansen estaba en Nigthwhis volvi a enamorarme, y esta vez para siempre de esta enorme banda.. Gracias Floor por ser simplemente la mejor..
+Alejandro Gil conocía esta banda muy poco, ya que no me gustaba mucho el estilo con Tarja, pero hace poco pude ver a floor en el concierto de wacken 2013, es fantástica la voz para la banda. este tema es para Floor, le da fuerza y sentimiento. Nightwhish tiene un estilo propio que muy pocas bandas lo han logrado con el tiempo. Ahora nightwhish tiene otro fans. comparto tus comentarios

Floor RUINED the end???? Is this real life? She gave birth to a new and perfect ending. I may or may not have screamed with feels when I heard it. The rest of the song was done true to the original, which I respect MADLY. And that little ending made it more intense and more Floor.

I like both versions, both are unique in their own right and this beautifully done combining both of them
You can't compare the both of them. There both great singers in my eyes but they have their own style of singing a song. Floor's, high note is just her personal touch to make the song sound better and it does. Just because one sings it differently doesn't mean there a better singer than the other one. It just makes a song more enjoyable to listen to (if done right), espeically for a 10 year old song.

what amazes me more is the fact that after a décade the music, the sound and the tempo is exactly the same :D it´s simply awsome.
I was always a fan of Tarja and now - I am a fan of them both singing together, complementing each other. Two god given and wonderful voices together with Nighwish - what could one ask for more?
Floor is hot as fire, matching the band very well, her singing brings more passion in live. But Tarja, her voice is so cold,dark totally opposite of music,which make songs so unique and unforgettable.
The Floor bit after 9:00... it makes me so thankful I listen to music like this. It always puts me in a good mood!
Well, they definitely have different voices and you might find it stupid to compare them BUT watching this made me sure I prefer Floor's rendition of the song because of the the diversity of emotions she gives it. Thank you Pantherapardus2012 for posting!

No Gasm without Floor, this song always reduces me to tears, now in stereo :-) Well done, I love these "duets", finally you can have both, vanilla and chocolate ice cream. And how awesome is that, that the band plays so well live, that you can mix two separate performances like this.... Nightwish and Tuomas stunning masterpiece songs have won me over... I also love the drums in this song and how guitars blend in with the vocals. All "standard" stuff for Nightwish, I know now :-)
