    Love your flosstube. You do such a great job. I learned about you through watching stitchysarah. Yarn hint: I put my yarn cakes in a knee high stocking. I leave it in that and pull the yarn out the top. I knot the knee high at the bottom of the cake. No more tangles.

    Hi Sarah, I'm the one who asked you about the patterns for the calendar. I did put all of them on my wish list on 123stitch. Waiting to receive January tomorrow! Also had to tell you that your knitting is beautiful! I knit a little but wanted to proudly share my son's and his husband's knitting You Tube channel. They knit and share their knitting projects, as well as make up funny stories about me. I have to watch just to see what I have been up to. Their channel is Sweet Tea, No Shade. I'm very proud of them and entertained by them. I think you will enjoy them too.

    I love seeing your projects. You are so enthusiastic about what you stitch. The lamp looks pretty cool. I bought a Cricut 360 floor model light two years ago. It has all the warm, cool, light features as well as brightness control and the arm with the light swivels in a circle. So while I don’t need a stitchy light, it was interesting to see the one that was sent to you. I love being able to adjust the light tone as well as the brightness. You will love your lamp. My kids bought it for me for my 70th birthday. It was money well spent. I didn’t want a party, I wanted that lamp. It’s so nice to be able to watch another aida stitcher. I have a question for you. Many patterns call for linen or lugana or evenweave, which my eyes are too old to see. 20 count aida is my limit. Some of the patterns that call for the above mentioned fabrics usually have you stitch over two threads but occasionally call for motifs or alphabets to be stitched over one while everything else is stitched over two. How do you accommodate for that? Plum Street American Welcome has the flag stitched over one while the rest of the pattern is over two. Help!!!! I’m looking forward to your next video!

    • @Handmadebysarahw
      @Handmadebysarahw  9 месяцев назад +1

      Oh how nice that your family got you a lamp! That’s great. So I never necessarily go by the called for fabric size. I look at what the finished size will be on different fabrics and choose that way. I frame myself so I like to preplan an easy to get frame size. That being said yes I always stitch on Aida and when there is over one stitching I either rechart that area or leave it out. On American welcome with the flag being over one that could get tricky. Have you looked to see if you could just rechart it for aida? I do wish designers would give an alternative if it is being worked on aida. Another option (and I wouldn’t suggest this on 20) but if you were on a 14 count you could create a new hole in the middle of the square to do over one and then just do a half stitch. I’ve done that before.

    • @barbaracarbone8101
      @barbaracarbone8101 9 месяцев назад

      @@Handmadebysarahw thanks so much for answering my question. I kinda figured recharting would be the answer. I always stitched on 14 count but since I have my new light, I found I could stitch on smaller counts. I’m stitching The Shores of Hawk Run Hollow on 20 count because it’s huge. It’s the only one I have on 20 count. My happy place is 16 count and like you, I choose the count size based on how big the piece will be when fully stitched. Thanks again!

    • @Handmadebysarahw
      @Handmadebysarahw  9 месяцев назад

      I normally just change it honestly. A lot of times the over one is wording and I don’t mind changing that at all. I have done it on aida and you have to basically create a new hole in the middle of the square to do it. It’s not fun and I don’t prefer it. But I’ve done it. I hope that helps 😊
