What a great time to be alive! I’m an old punk rocker and I’ve met about half of these folks.
I asked Biafra about the Oprah show and he said that it was beyond surreal. Met Peter Steele several times ( he was a nice guy), saw Gwar a billion times, once at Satyricon in Portland Oregon with the dwarves in front of fifty people, met GG Allin at systematic Records while waiting to collect royalties, and there were other bands there waiting to collect. He went around trying to introduce himself to people and no one would shake his hand… even met the Sex Pistols a couple of times.

100% TRUE. Especially while the brain develops (from in the womb to age 25). Classical music raises intelligence the most because of the complexity. Listening to it makes the brain work harder. And right below that is punk and metal. I don't know what was in the middle but rap is at the bottom due to the simplistic rhythm. Subconsciously puts the brain to rest. R&B and blues were just above rap.

Every school day morning we gathered to buy joints and speed and acid for later , and passed around the hat for the senior graduation keg party. It all went into an account We didn't really have a big high school but that end of year party was HUGE. Live bands 20-30 kegs food cookin, we welcome any thirsty kid around. OH how times have changed.

@@Red_Whitenblu Yep. Pete Steele had one of the most distinctive voices in metal.
On a semi-unrelated note: I always thought it was kind of a shame he never got to play both Dracula & Frankenstein's Monster in big-screen adaptations of either story. He had the look, the voice, and the stage presence. Would've knocked both roles outta the park. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, I guess...
