A couple of years ago I spoke to a staff member who was working the wickerman preshow and he said they planned to make an offload where the maintenance shed is but due to lack of budget and needing somewhere to store the trains they didn't
Oh wow, that's really interesting! That wouldn't surprise me though to be fair - Towers have a lot of history of having to cut back on the theming for attractions like Air and Smiler for budget reasons
Judging off these, I constructed a few ideas for a coaster: -Wipeout themed - soundtrack will literally just be the wipeout theme tune -Separate loading + unloading bays - the drop track acts also as a switch track for the empty train to come back round -launch out of the station -Switch track + spike -Drop track (maybe) into the separate bay - train looks as if it will come into the station again - drops underground and launches around a couple of elements before rolling onto the final brake run and into the unloading bay. -preshow (also maybe) -station fly through interacting with queues and different near miss props -intamin or mack rides - trains to have lap bars for airtime + overall thrill of riders
Good point @NathanHydra - I'd hate to think how much Disney had to spend on all of the licensing rights for the songs they have on Guardians Rewind. At least Universal has their own record label so the songs on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit would have been a bit cheaper!
@@coaster_shark I wasn’t even talking about licensing per se, more so about the technology, in Europe it’s common to have unique soundtracks for areas and rides, yet onboard audio remains a rarity, usually only found on Mack spinners and odd family coasters
Black Hole at Alton Towers used to have separate loading and unloading areas. I think that's the only coaster in the UK that did. (Off the top of my head)
Great video! I've not seen a video with this theme before, very interesting. I definitely agree about inters time thheming being a great underused theme park element.
Platform 13 at walibi holland uses doors that only open when the station is empty. Kinda like a seprate load or unload station. it has a subway theme and is realy creepy to see the train empty. the hole thing about the ride is that it has been abanded and is just fits so well doen.
That does sound pretty cool! It's definitely a cheaper way to achieve the same effect, but I guess the downside could be that it lowers the throughput of the ride?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! No worries - let me know if the way I'm referencing your videos currently is OK, or if you'd rather I did something else. To be honest, I've been finding your videos really useful when I've had a specific shot of a ride in mind. Quite often none of the larger channels with off-ride POVs seem to get footage from the vantage points I'm thinking of when I want a clip
Ah now that's a good question. For the original I always thought it was holding it down because of the whole 'pin the beast down with 250 tonnes of steel' in the story, but now its covered in veins/tentacles for Reborn I'm not so sure...
Ahhh yeah I haven't actually got around to setting one up yet.... If I'm going to make one then I want to make sure that I have the time to set it up and manage it at least semi-decently, and be able to spend time talking to people on it, but I'm not sure I do at the moment. Sorry...
I’ve never thought about separate unload and load bays for wicker man and oblivion. That’s a really good idea actually
Thanks! I've always thought it would just be a really simple way to crank up the tension before getting on

That sounds pretty incredible to be fair! Although to be honest you had me at the wipeout theme tune ;)
Hey mate, just found you and honestly you might be my new favourite RUclipsr that covers rollercoasters
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos :)
On board audio is tops for me!
That’s really expensive to put on most coaster types tho, so I get why it’s not seen often
Oooohh yeah that's a great shout! It can really add to the story can't it - or just create a bit more atmosphere

Oh fair enough! I guess it will always be the first thing to go when the budget gets squeezed since its not really essential :'(

Ah fair enough, I never got to ride that unfortunately

Amazing video
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
0:59, Shout-out to the time I won a game of rock paper scissors against an onlooker while going up a geurstleur vertical lift hill.
What an absolute pair of legends
Epic video mate, thanks for using my footage 💪

@@coaster_shark Your video referencing is perfect mate, use as much footage as you'd like 👌
That's great, thanks! 💪
I don’t hate station fly throughs but they’re extremely loud, which makes them not my favourite.
That is true, and station's aren't particularly the quietest of places to start with are they
Is the nemesis track, tentacles or metal holding it down

Excuseee meee, where's your discord server at ??:((
