You are the only woman I’ve seen making a full tutorial for a plug-in and it makes way more sense than any guy I’ve seen😭😭 u make it really easy to follow
Kristen is the only YT-er I've come across who shows you how to set up a plugin with MIDI, using the MIDI output to create vocal harmonies. Everyone else TELLS the viewer; Kristin SHOWS you. (Works with any DAW, BTW.)
I would gladly make more tutorials on this plugin, it is a powerful creative tool! I’ll keep your suggestion in mind as I plan my next tutorials. Thank you Cameron.
WOW thank you so very much Siena. I was never able to get Vocal Synth to work. Now I'm about to blow the dust of this vet & get to work! Keep up the good work love, I'll be checking for more videos from you. I really like your approach & simplified method of teaching. BTW: beautiful song too. -BiG Pluck
Hey Big Pluck thank you for the kind words about the song and my approach of teaching. This plugin is powerful and fun to use so I'm glad this video was able to help you in getting Vocal Synth up and running.
@@kristen_parisi Yes it did help me greatly love. I wish I could've seen the look on my own face when I finally got it connected correctly and actually heard it for myself for the first time. Thanx again love. And keep up the good work both with the product tutorials & your beautiful music. -BiG Pluck
Thank you so much for making a quick and concise and easy to understand tutorial on this technique. I have been wanting to use it since I first heard hide and seek by Imogen heap so many years ago! now I can do it, thanks to you 💜
Bought this a couple of years ago and have been pretty bummed out as I have yet to use it. I didn't really know how to use it to it's full potential using midi mode, but this helps thanks!! Now to figure out how to do this in FL Studio....🤔
I love this song and have listened to it many times since I discovered it last year. If you don't know it, check out The Longest Winter. Very clear concise tutorial. Thanks for that and the great song.
I'm glad you liked the video. Izotope plugins are really great and I've been playing around with this Vocal Synth a lot lately so maybe I'll put together another video on it,
I'd recommended Izotope VocalSynth2 or Antares Harmony Engine. There's also Pitchproof from Aegean, a free pitch shift and harmonizer plugin. I believe Pitchproof is capable of harmonizing in realtime using Midi.
There’s no doubt that the best way to get natural sounding harmonies is to have the singer harmonize with themselves, but we don’t always have that luxury, right? If getting vocal takes from the singer is not an option, I think your best bet for a more natural sound would be to create an empty Audio track, copy that Vocal Track you want to harmonize with onto the newly created track, insert a Pitch Shift Plugin (like Little Alterboy), and automate the plugin’s pitch to be the harmony you want relative to the vocal performance. Repeat that process until you have all the harmonies you need. I’ve done that before on songs I worked when I didn’t have recorded harmonies. It worked great. It can be time intensive but the results are a more natural sounding harmony. Another option is to render/print the audio track (creating a new version) and use a tuning software like VariAudio or Melodyne to create the harmony you want. If you use Cubase - Cubase has an Auto Generate Harmonies function under the Audio drop down that does that automatically based on the Chord track. If the computer/plugin generated harmonies tracks sound slightly unnatural at times, I’ve found that the best solution there is to mix them so they blend in and are felt more than they are heard.
I have used cubase for a long time now and didn't know you can route midi to an audio track 😂 I would of assumed that plugin needed it as a sidechain or something.... 🤷👍
I had been moving into a new creative space and hadn’t set up to record any videos. I’m all moved in and am working on a couple of new tutorials now. Is there anything specific you would like me to cover?
Short and sweet no beating around the bush. Thank you very straight to the point 👍

@@kristen_parisi Hello, on the contrary, thanks to you for the tutorial, it was very helpful.
hey the community background!
cool cool cool cool :D
Writing it here to not forget:
- In the synth track, route the output to the voice track with Vocal Synth 2 (and use MIDI mode on Vocal Synth)
Thanks! Yes, I’d love to see more on this plug-in. The IZotope videos are simply awful. I learned more by watching your video. Thank you!

can you suggest any plugin for realtime harmonization of vocal using midi

I wish I could put a verse on this song. It’s so good.
any way to make the harmonies sound more realistic and natural? thanks for the video!
