    Great info! So if wanted to create harmonies panned left and right for my lead vocal. I first duplicate the vocal track bounced it in place then panned it left and adjusted to 25.00 milliseconds activated the Vari Audio and created the harms for the panned left. So now to created harmonies for the right I just duplicate the left harm track bounce in place and pan the duplicated harm track right and adjust the milliseconds -25.00 will this work or is there a better way? Thanks so much for all the great info and sharing your talent with us.😎

    Hi Dom. I have enjoyed watching this video so many times. However I had to come back and ask you just what effects did you use on the Second Lady that sung in English. I would like to know if you used a delay on her voice, and if so, how much of a delay did you use? Plus I would also like to know what reverb that you used on her voice and if so, how much reverb did you also use on that vocal track as well. Thank you again for making these wonderful videos with so much quality. I really appreciate all of the knowledge that you share with us. Have a wonderful day and week.

I do the same steps as you in Cubase Pro 12 but when I make a copy of the vowel and pass it through VariAudio to create a harmony, it affects the original track in the same way and does not allow me to make harmonies to the voice since it lowers or raises the pitch the same. next to the original track! @1:50 @ domsigalas @cubase Why is that called a "phasing issue"? When 2 identical signals overlap perfectly and both have the same polarity ... that is constructive interference, and the only consequence I know of is an output twice as loud (a + of 6.02 dB). Is that called a phasing issue?
    Am I missing something?
    I thought that phasing issues only arise when 2 identical or almost identical signals, with different polarities, overlap. Professional help is very appreciated!

    can you please explain to me why when i create duplicate tracks, they all reference the same file, meaning if i change the variaduio key on one track it changes on the next duplicate track as we'll. This is so frustrating because i want them to be individually independent so ii can apply your tutorial above :( i need to have the original at its variaudio key, then 1st harmony (duplicate) track i want to move a few keys and pan left and put at 23 ms, and then the next 2nd harmony (duplicate track) i want to move a few keys and pan right and nudge 25 ms. So i wanted to have a lower and higher register harmony either side of the main vocal. But whenever i change 1 track in variaduio it changes the others (harmony keys) too :( I've tried dragging the same file into different tracks from the pool. I've tried copy and pasting to different tracks to avoid duplication or "shared copies" i've even counted it but nothing works :;( Is there some setting i'm missing? please help as i can't move forward in this remix for its deadline until i figure this out.... in the old cubase version i had this wasn't a problem (10.5) and now i'm on 12 its a problem. Additionally i seem to remember being able to hold alt/option and drag a melody up or down to duplicate it within the varaudio track, but now i can't and have to create a completely different track in the arrange page and then apply the variaduio manipulation there?:(

    • @IanMSpencer
      @IanMSpencer Год назад +1

      Select all the variaudio events, then on the left panel you can adjust the formants at once. A few percent is all that is needed, adjust it by ear. Then you will want to listen through as some words are more affected than others, so you can then select individual words.
      I now often adjust the formants on my vocals a bit to remove some tone in my voice that I don't like.

    Nice tool … but Haas Delay and these pitch shifts are always generating an unnatural chorus like effect. Even tools with LFO-based alterations don’t come around this effect. Multiple recordings always sound way better. I wonder why there are no plugins that alter the timing and modulation of the voice randomly on a micro level (or i don‘t know them yet 😊).
