I miss Longs Drugs. The one in my hometown had a hobby section and sold model train sets and accessories. Man, can someone take me back to my hometown in the late 80s/ early 90s?
Oh yeah, same. Went to buy some model glue once and they wouldn't sell it due to my being an 11yo, and when I asked why, I was given a lesson on how one uses airplane glue to get high.
The Longs stores in Hawaii are still owned/operated by CVS. They just decided to keep the Longs branding over there because it was the first drug store chain on the islands, and had become ingrained in modern Hawaiian culture. AFAIK they're just like any other CVS store except for the name.
@@Tr0nzoid I remember seeing them when I went to Hawaii back in 2000. Of course, they still had them where I lived at the time so I didn’t think much of it.
Honey Nut Cheerios- With the way his stomach looks when he dances, I would say that the Honey Nut Cheerios honey bee mascot sure gets more than enough of the cereal to tempt his tummy. Buckle Your Safety Belt PSA- So fascinating to see Lorenzo Music voice of those Dummy characters. That Garfield voice really went places in those days.
I remember my local drug stores back 30 years ago going through so many names: Eckard, Faye, Luvs, Brooks, etc. Now its Walgreens or Kinneys (local to my area)
Splitting a single movie over 2 days seems like such an odd idea now. I wonder what the viewer retention ratings were between days. Surely it went down, at least a little.
On the major networks? I guess. Many of the popular one-off event shows on streaming platforms and cable are "mini-series" type programming, in that they're longer than a movie and split over several episodes ex: "Queen's Gambit", “American Crime Story”, “True Detective” etc.
Jordache Basics-why not just roller skate home instead of walk.. Coors-so did she get his phone number or...? Nexxus-almost looked like one of those late night 1-900 ads Melody Toyota-i dont think this was a cross-promotion with Fox and John Walsh
These commercials remind me of a simpler time when I felt safe and secure
These commercials are everything I need when I’m looking for comfort and nostalgia. Please don’t ever stop and know you’re very much appreciated.
You said it perfectly.
0:30 - The one commercial that I'm sure most teenage boys never tuned out on...
I always loved that Honey Nut Cheerios commercial...and the dancing bee!
We used the Ogilvie "WRONG" for years afterward, I forgot where it came from!

@@timvanarsdel so they taught you how to get high by not selling you modeling glue?

5:02 - I wonder how this wife feels that he would rather eat at a 7-11 than her cooking?
$100,000 with Treasure Hunt? That’d be at least $300,000 now.
$100,000 is now $219,556.18 when adjusted for inflation.
@@80sCommercialVault I was close 😂
Dennis Richmond is one of the perfect examples of 80s anchormen!
There's Picway again TAKEYOURPIC lol
Sounds like Dave Madden on the Longs Drugs commercial
Kari Wuhrer in the Payless Shoe Commercial
Oh man I remember when beta-kerotine was a thing!

Shogun was a miniseries that aired in five parts, not a single movie at all.

On that note, I think the network mini-series have gone away.
