    I hope this video finds you well! My advanced apologies for the lower effort content here. Time was running a bit thin 🙂
    Marcus lent in another watch for review. His most recent purchase, the fabulous Salmon dialed Czapek.

    The “13” not sitting exactly centered on the date window is driving me insane.

    I just bought it. I’m not sure it’s the same one you are holding but it sure looks like it. I’ll have it in a few weeks and will check the serial number. Czapek is a name we will be hearing on everyone’s lips in a few years.

    I find it hard that you can mention so many better finished movements than this one. Some parts contain 6 angles of polishing - not even Lange does that. The finish of this one blows RO and 5711 movements easily.

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  Год назад +2

      I think it's mainly my inexperience when it comes to well finished movements. This might be (objectively) a very well finished movement. It just isn't very beautiful to my eye.
      Maybe that will change as I mature and experience more.
      The movement in the Moser I borrowed made my eyes water because of its beauty haha

    • @fifthpint4571

    I’ve had this in hand at AD and I liked it but struggle to see how it was 20;000 pounds . Dial and case finishing where nice but wasn’t impressed by the winding action , movement finishing or bracelet for the price .. if I’m not mistaken they charge around $1300 dollars for a rubber strap . Feel this is consistent with a brand who over charge ..

      Would I spend that much money for one of those? Definitely not, a GP Laureato would be way enough watch for me while being almost 40% cheaper. My guess is that what you are paying here is low production numbers and exclusivity.

      @@JorgeBordam1I have the CW twelve which has the same designer and even though I haven't seen the czapek in person I can't imagine that it would be 24 times better to justify such a significant price difference. The bracelet might have a little more going on than the twelve, but imo that's just a matter of preference. Big difference is the movement which on the twelve is a fairly unremarkable-looking selita movement whereas the one here is a lot prettier.

      The links not articulating down from the lugs are incongruent and thus looks sort of sloppy

  • @chia-mingyang5804
    @chia-mingyang5804 Год назад +2

    You can film the movement easier after taking off the bracelet(since it has quick release). I like the movement architecture and it's well finished for the price.
    Overall it's a great sporty piece(other two choices in my mind is Chopard Alpine Eagle XPS and Parmigiani Tonda PF), but unfortunately the date wheel in this piece isn't well centered.

    Trust you did not scratch the case with the calipers!! that's a very impressive watch from both sides of the case. I think you showed very well the highs and the lows i.e. the great finishing and seconds hand counterbalance being too large and I think it has to be long since it's so thin and the wide stance on the wrist surely for a larger wrist. Overall very impressive aesthetics please ask your friend to do a review on timekeeping

    Hi Sanjay - knowing that you like and own GS, I would like you ti throw a topic for your watch talks:
    I have disassembled a 6r35 from a SPB143 that needed service and found out that the escapement wheel and the pallet fork are made with MEMS fabrication method. I am unsure why Seiko does not use this as a selling point but I was honestly surprised and amazed.

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  Год назад

      Hey there,
      That's really cool! Are you a watchmaker by chance, or do you service watches as a hobby?
      I know that Seiko used to tout the MEMS method and other things like the magic lever system more frequently in the past.
      Maybe we'll discuss this in a future live stream.
      Thanks for the idea!

      @@engineer_wannabe I would not call myself "watchmaker", I'd rather say trained watch technician but I dont make my living out of it anymore.
      I would like to send you pictures of the components made with MEMS on the 6r35 and for comparison the traditional ones used in the 6r15, 4r35, 7s26, etc.
      How I can send them to you?
