Having to want to create every sample, every sound, every progression on your own is a nice thing, but I guess it‘s really not a must.

What techniques are used, effects,layering,panning etc..I listen to a lot of unsigned songs and All the beats and samples sound great BUT, its always the vocals that never sound like what the big boys can produce......Cheers

This is Logic Pro x, which comes with a large variety of sounds, however some of the sounds he used he bought and downloaded separately online, called plugins which basically add sounds and effects to your library. Logic with the sounds that come with it is 200 dollars, while the plugin prices can vary. Hope this helped!
