      Who Sampled It Better? Pete Rock (Nas - The World Is Yours) or DJ Premier (Jeru the Damaja - Me or the Papes) [Ahmad Jamal - I Love Music].
      Also a Swizz Beats video could be dope. I would love to see breakdowns of beats like Wild Out, MCH, All For The Love, etc.

    Notegrabber is clever btw. I could see a producer using it to get notes from a sample, replay it from their plugins, then resample & manipulate that.
    Like imagine taking an epic synth pad sound you liked, grabbing the notes, having an orchestral strings patch play it through effects, then export chop & dirty up *that*! You could literally start with something you heard on a dance music track & end up with gangsta music 🙃

    Kanye obviously. Its the phrasing in the sample and building up of R&B progressions that makes it more complex. Boom Bap for the most part doesn't require as much cord progression, bridges etc. That said Kanye stayed very close to the original song to replicate that classic 70s 80s vibe, whereas Alchemist brought into the sample into the era.

      @ivimoreira Месяц назад

      I totally agree with you the passion and soul from the original sample has presence on Kanye sampling and on the alchemist it doesn't, there is no way to say one is better or worst it just depends on taste and to me the more full and soul like final style from Kanye is superior but the Alicia keys vocals helps a lot.

    I like Kanye's beat the most because he used creative sampling techniques. Alchemist's beat is usually how I do it, keeping it simple and adding my own expressions.
    But you... You had the most resourceful and knowledgeable tactic when it comes to wave shaping and sound manipulation. You did way more than just sampling. I loved the reversing as well as fading in the high layer. I love automations.

    It’s also important to know Kanye maps all his chops out on piano keys. So He’s not limited to 16 pads like most producers (I know its like 64 but you have to switch pages)

    Another thing, Kanye made it more of a R&B style and Alchemist made it Hip Hop!

    Do one for 'Bonjour' by Nas, prod. Kanye, and one for 'Education' by Freddie Gibbs + Yasiin Bey, prod. Alchemist. Both songs sample 'Dance Music' by RD Burman. Would love to see a deeper insights into the process of production by these two masters

    This is your best work that I've heard by far. My one gripe is that the bass you added sounds really flat. Other than that, I think you actually blew this one out of the water. Good job bro ❤

      It might be much harder to find where RZA Sampled his Beats. Hell he was sampling music and sounds from 70's Kung Fu Movies. Personally I think after that first WU Album He had to be living in Japan and China for a Year to get the vinyls.
