Also about Blender; dude, after 2.8, the grease pencil is OP, you can legit use the 2D Animation window as a way to draw like any other art software, it's heckin dope. If Krita and Blender manage to collab somehow, that'd be brutal.

and now in 3.3 is much better, you can literally make digital painting in Blender

the learning curve it takes to know your way around blender is so so so so so worth it IMO

for sure. It literally did gave me a new dimension to play with and lots of possibilities opened up like scenes or artworks i wouldn't have done without blender

is easier than how it sounds and are hundreds of tutorials about everything in Blender, plus you go step by step, we are talking about how to replace the 3d model enhancement you had in CSP what means you just download a free 3d model import it in Blender and move the camera to the angle you want and then press F11 and is done you export the render with transparent background and import it KRITA where you compose your final scene as simple as that and is easier and more precise to pose characters in Blender than be fighting with the dam gizmos in CSP, day by day you learn more and more until without realize it you become a 3D artist and you start doing your own stuff and are MILLIONS of free 3d models all over the internet in case you do not want to learn modeling and sculpting

What about creating comic pages in Krita? Krita has page templates but if you wanted to create one from scratch.

One other thing the CSP models have that I hope Magic Poser or Easy Pose have are scaling their body proportions. I frankly think the way CSP handles them are a tad bit iffy; they have no way to scale the breasts of females, for instance, and the foots of both models are not detailedly rigged as I hoped they would like their hand. There is also some issues in some of their arm rigs, whenever you want to twist the hands to a particular angle, the model does not adapt fairly well to the twist and it just bends all weirdly and it sorta complicates anatomy corrections in the sketch.
For now I am sticking to 1.x until 3.0 or 4.0 comes out or until Krita outperforms CSP on the 3D models (which is one of many features they officially plan to add in future updates).

Thank you for talking about these different resources! 🙏🏻😊
Sketchfab seems kind of interesting, but I wonder how we can actually set up a scene for a comic using the 3D models from Sketchfab.
Also, these 3D models are very realistic, which isn’t really what I want when setting up a 3D scene for my comic. So, I wonder if there’s a way to apply a toon shader to these 3D scenes, in order to get more of a cartoony effect.
Additionally, the 3D backgrounds are useful but I wonder if there’s a place where we can also find 3D models to represent our characters, whose appearance we can modify, and whose rigging works well for posing.
I’m trying to figure out what would be the best & quickest way to put together a full 3D scene using a single program. The scene should include both the characters & backgrounds, and preferably it should have some kind of toon shading applied to it.
Based on what I’m looking for, I feel that programs like Magic Poser are very limited 🤔😕

Yep, seems like what you're looking for is Blender, all of the things you mentioned, you can do there. Very hard to learn if you don't have any prior experience in 3d, at least in my experience. But honestly, it's worth the effort if you do comics for a living. I'm planning on making an introductory video regarding Blender in the future but as we've discussed already its going to take a while to do 😅

@@RexelBartolome Yes, Blender seems like the way to go, although it feels a bit intimidating to learn :)
Another program that I’m also considering for comics is Daz Studio. They have 3D models that can be modified. I’m not sure what the posing & scene setup is like in Daz Studio though. Also, I’m not sure what their rendering options are compared to Blender 🤔

Theres a lot of image materials on the clip store and other cool effect brushes (like rubble effects, lightning {especially that one}, fire things) that I use a lot, and it would really suck not being able to use them since i use them so frequently, and the same goes for one kind of hair brush in particular thats on there thats very useful but I'd have really no clue how to replace it unless I were to somehow completely transfer it over setting by setting.

    • @RexelBartolome
      @RexelBartolome  2 года назад +2

Yeah, unfortunately there's no easy way of transferring brushes. I've made a video about it on the same playlist as this video, seen on the end screen if you want to know more about it. And as always, you can download other custom brushes that might be similar to the brushes you're referring to. The ones here also have fire/lightning FX brushes if I'm not mistaken :)

No, lo siento :( tendrías que hacerlo tú mismo. Hay algunas aplicaciones / sitios web que pueden eliminar el fondo por ti si eso es lo que realmente necesitas, aunque las gratuitas suelen estar limitadas en resolución.

Thats true! Daz3D used to be so big back when anyone trying out 3D for their workflow mentioned it. Not sure why it's less mentioned these days, heck even I forgot about it.

@@RexelBartolome still a great program, defiantly needs a make over for the UI but its better than most other programs i used cause it can be used with blender and that's great for staging out a scene for a reference or draw over.
